Your Choice Homes manages and monitors the Allocations and Lettings Policy on behalf of Newcastle City Council. We also have a health team, provided in partnership with Health and Social Services, which assesses any housing needs you have because of your health and welfare.

Housing Management Service is provided from YHN Community Housing Offices and Customer Service Centres. The teams have a range of responsibilities, covering all aspects of managing and supporting.

Advice and Support Team can help you stay in your home. Our aim is to prevent homelessness and help people sustain their tenancies.

Anti-social Behaviour and Enforcement Team aims to tackle and reduce anti-social behaviour by supporting victims and taking action against those who cause problems for their neighbours.

Newcastle Furniture Service is available to you when you first take up a tenancy with YHN. We will supply you with items of furniture for a weekly payment that is added to your rent. We provide child safety equipment free of charge to families on a low income or means tested benefit living in Newcastle and a garden care service to YHN tenants.

Community Care Alarm Service provides emergency help if you are older or disabled, or have other special needs. Anyone living in Newcastle can join the service, no matter what type of accommodation you live in or who owns your home.

Young People’s Service supports young people and families in Newcastle by helping them manage accommodation and providing them with the advice and support needed to live independently.

Tyne and Wear Homes is a lettings partnership that allows you to search and apply for properties from across Tyne and Wear.

This newsletter contains properties to rent in Newcastle, including those managed by Your Homes Newcastle (YHN), other social providers and some private rented accommodation.

You must have an application registered with Tyne and Wear Homes in order to bid for a home. Visit www.tyneandwearhomes.org.uk for more information or call us on 0191 277 2020 for an application form.

There are a number ways to bid for homes every week between Thursday at 00.01am and Monday at 11.59pm:

You can make up to three bids for properties each week. Being the first or last bid doesn’t matter; it’s down to your eligibility and time on the housing register.
