proposal: two-nine design

This logo concept draws from the inspiration behind the “Two-Nine Design” name and co-opts the idea of address number plates for the numbers 2 and 9. The more elaborate number blocks are paired with a simple, modern sans-serif font for the word “design”.

The premise of this design hinges around using the numbers two and nine as one icon that could be construed as either. The icon easily replaces the dot above the “i” in “design”, and the words “two” and “nine” on either side of the icon clarify the icon’s origins.

Taking into consideration the possibility that “two-nine design” will be shortened to “two-nine” by those familiar with the label, this logo emphasizes the “two-nine” portion of the label name.

In your biography, you frequently mention ties to nature. Your art seems to consistently hold a raw component to it -- rugged edges on the wood you use, etc. This logo attempts to capture that side of your work in the highly expressive 2 and 9. Paired with them is far more structured sans-serif font. It is the blending of styles you had mentioned in our meeting on Thursday.
