Kuranda Rail & Skyrail Cairns

Date: Tuesday 25 June 2013

A full day excursion experiencing the rainforest from the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and the

Kuranda Scenic Railway.

The Rainforest Cableway experience spans 7.5kms over

Australia’s pristine tropical rainforests. You will glide just meters

above the rainforest canopy before descending through the

canopy layers and deep into the heart of the forest where

you’ll see, hear, smell and become part of the tropical

rainforest environment.

Your skyrail experience should take approximately 1½ hours and includes spending time at the

two rainforest mid-stations. Allow 20 minutes for each station to enjoy Ranger guided boardwalk

tours and visit the Rainforest Interpretation Centre, lookouts and historical displays.

Itinerary:

0830 Hours – Depart from your hotel and transfer to the Skyrail’s Caravonica Station.

0915 Hours – One way Skyrail departs from 0915. Enjoy stunning panoramic views from the comfort of a six-person gondola

cabin, as you glide just metres above the rainforest canopy on this amazing 7.5km journey.

1100 Hours – (Approx) Arrive Kuranda you will have 3 hours free time in Kuranda Village.

Kuranda the ‘Village in the Rainforest’ boasts numerous attractions including a butterfly sanctuary, colourful bird aviary, koala

park, walking tracks and a diverse array of galleries, shops, cafes and restaurants. Explore Kuranda’s famous art and craft

markets; they are open seven days a week. Enjoy fresh tropical juices and homemade ice-cream as you soak up the ambience

created by local musicians and entertainers.

1400 Hours – Depart on the Kuranda scenic railway. Please arrive at the platform in plenty of time for the departure. The journey

back is approximately 1 ¾ hours to Cairns Central. The famous Kuranda Scenic Railway was built over 120 years ago and winds

its way through the tropical mountain ranges between Cairns and Kuranda.

1545 Hours – Arrive Cairns Central Station. Disembark the train and transfer the short journey back to your hotel.

White Water Rafting – Half Day Cairns

The Barron River is perfect for anyone who has never tried White Water Rafting or those looking for

an action photo will be taken. You’ll also get the chance to try raft surfing (dependent on water

levels) and to cool off with a swim in Lake Placid.

White Water Rafting – Full Day Cairns

grade 3 & 4 rapids (moderate to exciting).

The “Tully” river is Australia’s premier white water rafting experience.

Each raft is controlled by a highly trained river guide who teaches you the correct techniques

which few get to see. You’ll spend the day rafting through up to 44 rapids guaranteed to satisfy

your thirst for adrenalin.

Half way down the river you will stop to take in the

spectacular scenery and enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch on the

banks of the river. Then it’s back to the action in churning

white water of the lower gorge.

At the completion of rafting, change into dry clothes and

Cape Tribulation & Daintree Forest Cairns

Date: Thursday 27 June 2013

accommodation early this morning; drive north along the scenic

coastal route along the Captain Cook Highway leaning about the

history of the area and admiring spectacular views of the coast line

and Coral Sea. Your first stop is at the Majestic Daintree River for

Morning Tea before enjoying an informative guided River Cruise on

the Daintree River. Relax and enjoy the splendour only the Daintree

can offer as you learn of estuarine crocodiles, mangrove forests and

endemic wildlife, this is nature at its best.

From here ascend the Alexandra Range and pause for a panoramic view of World Heritage, Wet

Tropics and Tropical Rainforest merging with the azure colours of the Coral Sea. Experience the

rainforest intimately on one of the guided elevated National Park Boardwalks. Accurate

interpretations of flora and fauna will be given with ample time for photographs and questions as you

search for the elusive, rate and totally unique Southern Cassowary and other wildlife species within this

particular habitat. You will then make your way to Lync Haven which is an animal refuge centre where

you have the opportunity to hand feed a kangaroo, get up close to some of Australia’s wildlife, see

“Boris” the crocodile, and enjoy a delicious gourmet barbecue lunch in a beautiful rainforest setting

restaurant, and enjoy a cold drink from the bar.

The tour takes you beyond the famous Daintree Tea Plantation, past spectacular mountains and

through spectacular World Heritage Rainforest as you pass Cape Tribulation and continue along the

4WD Bloomfield Track through to pristine Emmagen Creek. Seek fish and turtles in the creek, butterflies

and exotic birds in the trees and indulge in a feast of exotic tropical fruits and sample a cup of

traditional Billy Tea, all of which enhance the tranquil surroundings. Make your way to Cape Tribulation

endangered faces of Australian wildlife, including southern

bettong, eastern quolls and rare fluffy gliders. Get close to

From here we travel to Phillip Island and stop in at the

famous Chocolate Factory, the sweetest and addictive

attraction on Phillip Island. Visit ‘Panny’s Amazing World of

We see the Nobbies and Seal Rocks, stroll along the boardwalk and enjoy the spectacular views

Red Centre Option Alice Spring & Ayers Rock

Date: Monday 1st – Wednesday 3rd July 2013

Day 1 - Monday 1st July

You will be transferred from your hotel in Melbourne to the airport for your flight to Alice Springs.

On arrival, transfer to the Aurora Hotel in Alice Springs for one night, room only.

Day 2 - Tuesday 2nd July

Depart Alice Springs at 7.30am. Travel to Ayers Rock Resort,

stopping to visit a camel farm where there is time to try your

hand at riding one of these ‘ships of the desert’. Enter Uluru –

Kata Tjuta National Park and explore mystical Kata Tjuta (the

Olgas), 36 domes of red conglomerate rock. Walk into Walpa

Gorge, before enjoying a complimentary glass of sparkling

wine, nibbles and spectacular sunset at Uluru (Ayers Rock).

Day 3 – Wednesday 3rd July

Early this morning witness the sunrise at Uluru and enjoy a tour of the monolith’s base. Later,

Latching on in the Climb Base below the Bradfield Highway,

you will walk on catwalks below the road-deck until you

reach the south-east pylon. Here you will ascend 4 ladders

to the start of the upper arch, surrounded by the hum and

buzz of Sydney’s traffic. With the summit in your sight, your

journey continues along the Bridge’s outer arch on the

Opera House side until you hit the top. After a summit

celebration with your group, you cross the spine of the

Bridge to the Darling Harbour side to make your descent to

our Climb Base.

How to get there: We are located at 3 Cumberland Street, The Rocks, Sydney.

By Pubic Transport To get here, catch a ferry, bus or train to Circular Quay. From here, walk along George Street until

you meet the corner of Argyle Street (Guylian Cafe is on the corner). Take Argyle Street and when

you reach the Argyle Stairs (next to Sake Restaurant) take these to the top to reach Cumberland

Street.

From here, walk north along Cumberland Street. Bridge Climb is located on the western side of

the street before the road snakes underneath the Bridge.

Pre-Climb Checklist

We care about the Bridge and the safety of everyone who uses it. We equip you with all the

outdoor gear you’ll need for your climb based on the day’s weather conditions and our health

and safety essentials.

For safety reasons, you can’t carry anything with you on the Bridge. We provide secure lockers for you

to keep your things in, including phones and cameras. Our Climb Leaders will capture photos of you

during your climb. One free group photo is included with your ticket, and additional photos can be

pre-purchased at a special rate with your ticket, or after your climb.

Things You Need To Know:

1. You must have an alcohol-blood reading below .05 to climb. Everyone is breathalysed by our

staff and anyone over the limit cannot continue.

2. If you’re under 24 weeks pregnant, you can climb with a Certificate of Fitness Form signed by

your GP. Please bring this with you on the day.

3. If you’re over 24 weeks pregnant, you cannot climb.

4. You must be over 10 years old and more than 1.2 metres in height.

5. Essential medication like inhalers can be taken on the climb. Please speak to our staff on the

day.

Health & Safety Essentials:

To participate you need to have a general level of health and fitness, and the ability to climb

independently. On the day, you will be provided with a Bridge Climb Declaration Form for completion.

We do our best to help everyone climb, however there are some things that may prevent you from

climbing safely, including:

heart conditions

respiratory conditions

physical injuries

limited limb function, or limb loss

recent broken bones

surgery in the past 6 months

a fit or seizure in the past 6 months

If you have any questions, or are concerned about your ability to climb, please speak to staff for

advice before booking.

We care about our climbers; so please be aware that even if you have made a booking we reserve

the right to decline participation or modify your climb to keep you safe. Health & Safety Essentials are

subject to change at our discretion.

Weather:

Sydney is full of surprises. We are an all-weather experience and equip you in all the gear you'll need to

keep you safe and comfortable based on the day's weather conditions. We love to climb, but we

will postpone climbs during electrical storms or during times of extremely high wind. If you have any

questions please speak to our staff.

hazed mountains, cliffs, canyons and waterfalls – perfect for a relaxing day spent out of the city.

Begin your day at Featherdale Wildlife Park where you can hand feed a kangaroo, wallaby or

emu and, experience a face-to-face encounter with one of the friendly koalas.

Learn about the Aboriginal culture: visit the Waradah Centre and watch an excellent show by the

Aboriginal performers. Take a guided walk to a spectacular cliff lookout providing splendid views

of breathtaking mountain scenery – a photographer’s paradise with panoramic views of the

Jamison Valley, its sandstone cliffs, coloured rust and pink, and lush subtropical rainforest.

Hunter Valley Sydney

Inclusions: Day trip to Hunter Valley visiting a selection of wineries and cellar doors

including all wine tastings and a 2 course lunch. Spend the day discovering the

beautiful wine region of the renowned Hunter Valley and sample award-

winning regional wines.

Just over 2 hours north of Sydney lies the Hunter Valley wine region, famous for its award-winning

wines, including Semillon and Shiraz. The Hunter Valley was first settled in the 1820’s and is home

to more than 120 wineries.

A full day excursion with a pick-up from your hotel at/between 7.00 and 7.30am. You’ll head out

to the beautiful Hunter Valley in comfort and style in one of the luxury Mercedes Benz vehicles

and enjoy private wine tastings at a great selection of Hunter wineries, large and small. Your

driver/guide will give you details of the day’s itinerary as you sit back and enjoy the view.

Stop at a coffee shop on the way for a comfort stop and

some morning refreshments at your own expense.

Your itinerary ensures you visit 4-5 wineries ranging from smaller

vineyards and cellar doors to the larger wineries.

You will taste a selection of 6-8 wines at each winery.

Lunch is at The Hunter Resort’s Blue Tongue Café and you

will have enough time to sample the popular Blue Tongue

beers.

Before heading back to Sydney, you’ll visit the Smelly Cheese Shop followed by a visit to one of

the many chocolate shops in the Hunter. We have an onboard fridge on the coach for your
