Proposed Itinerary for a Fun Packed Weekend in London

London is one of the largest cities in the world, and a key problem that many tourists find is creating an itinerary for their trip to make sure they capture the essence of the city. If you just don’t know how to plan your London break, then follow our itinerary, which will enable you to see some of the best things the city has to offer.

Day 1 As a tourist, you will probably arrive at either Gatwick airport or Heathrow airport. We advise that you book hotels accommodation London near Hyde Park because both airports have direct access to Paddington Station (Heathrow) or Victoria Station (Gatwick), and Hyde Park lies between both stations.

It is the most convenient location for tourists, close to the action and close to the airports. Book your hotels accommodation London before you arrive though, because hotels in the Hyde Park area fill up fast.Once you have checked into your hotel and are ready to leave, head straight to Oxford Street, which you will find on Hyde Park Corner.

Original Bus Tour

The best way to see the sights is to buy tickets for the Original Bus Tour (which you will find on Oxford Street). There are various tours to choose from, each taking you to a various assortment of the most famous landmarks. Choose the tour that appeal to you most.

Taking the Red Tour as an example, you will see:

Buckingham Palace Wellington Museum Nelson's Column St. Paul's Cathedral Westminster Pier Trafalgar Square Horse Guards' Parade London Bridge Madame Tussauds Downing Street London Dungeon Regent's Park Big Ben & Parliament HMS Belfast The London Eye Tower Bridge Regent Street Tower of London

There are many more sights to see on the red tour, we’ve only mentioned a few key sights. You simply hop off at the places you want to visit, explore the attraction, then hop on another of their buses, and continue to your next destination. There are no schedules, you just catch the buses when you want, – they run every 15-30 minutes.

The London Eye

We recommend that you take a ride on the London Eye, a giant Ferris wheel, where on a good day, you can see as far as 24 miles away in all directions. You will get a bird’s eye view of the city of London, and it’s great fun.

Medieval Banquet

Plan to visit the Tower of London around lunchtime or dinnertime. This way, you will be near the Medieval Banquet restaurant, where you will eat in a mock-up medieval atmosphere, complete with serving wenches, jugglers, jousters, and much more besides.

Day 2 This is the day to enjoy the less traditional tourist attractions.

Shopping

In the morning, head to Oxford Street again, but this time for the shopping experience. Oxford Street is London’s leading fashion street and you will find many of the world’s best clothing boutiques.

Explore designer shopping venues in Bond Street, which is just off Oxford Street.

If you have children, head to Regent Street, again, off Oxford Street, where you will find one of the biggest toyshops in the world.

Hyde Park

In the afternoon, visit Hyde Park, there are always interesting things going on in the park, so take a walk around, and experience some of the wonderful things on offer.

Theatre

You can’t come to London without catching a West End show. It is traditional to have dinner and then go to the theatre. You will find hundreds of restaurants in the area, catering for different tastes and budgets. Theatres abound in the West End, and it is for you to decide which show you want to watch (we recommend Wicked).

After the show, you will probably be too tired for much else than returning to your hotel. If you are interested in finding hotel accommodation in the area near Hyde Park, then visit www.londonpremierhotels.com.
