Prayers of Prosper Please continue to pray boldly for Prosper Church! Pray often for Pastor Dirk as he leads us. Pray for the nomination process for new Elders & Deacons. Pray for the Finance Committee as they work on the 2022 budget. Our children have begun a new school year! Pray often for our students, both in college and day schools. Pray for safety! Pray that in their busyness they stay true to Jesus and our Christian world view; there are many pressures that our children face every day! Remember our members who find it difficult to worship with us: Eleanor Ebels, Millie Jenema, Ruth Brinks, Cynthia Bazuin, Judy Steensma, Francis Squires and Al Agema. We thank God for our young families and praise him for the gift of life. Pray for our expectant mothers: Rachel Dick, Lynae Gernaat, Desiree Gernaat. Congratulations to Grandpa and Grandma Dale & Bonnie Brinks in the birth of a healthy grandson, Jameson Henry McNally. Parents, Kip & Tracy, and baby are all doing well. Pray for healing and comfort … for Justin Gernaat, a member at Vogel Center CRC, who is fighting a serious cancer. for Al Agema’s daughter-in-law, Jeannie Agema, who is in the ICU on a ventilator due to COVID. for those of our congregation who deal with chronic pain and illnesses on a daily basis. for Judy Steensma who is on Hospice Care. Pray for her comfort as well as peace for both Jim and Judy in this time.

Today marks the beginning of our fall educational season! Sunday School and Catechism begin TODAY!

Cadets, GEMS, JAM, and H.S. Youth groups are getting rolling as well. We’ll be recognizing and pray-

ing for our teachers, counselors and youth leaders and that this season of education be filled mightily with the Holy Spirit.

After the service, let us encourage one another during a time of coffee and con-versation in the Fellowship Room. Please join us!

This morning we will continue the series on the life of Elisha. From 2 Kings 8: 1-15, we will be encouraged by the truth that God watches over the lives of his children. This evening at 6pm, we will look at the Heidelberg Catechism, Lord’s Day 16, Q & A 44 and Psalm 88, “He Descended Into Hell.” Please join us.

Small Groups at Prosper Friday Morning Women’s Prayer Hour –8:15-9:30 at Prosper Church beginning October 2. Join us for an hour of prayer for the Spiritual needs of our World and Community.

Ladies Afternoon Bible Study-we will begin on Wed, Sept 29 at 1:30 and will meet every other Wednesday. We are studying the book of Rev-elation. Look for our study material soon.

Women’s Sunday School Bible Study– we meet during the Sunday School hour in the old Parsonage.

Women’s Evening Bible Study will begin October 6, 7pm. We will be studying “The Armor of God”, by Priscilla Shirer. This is an in-depth study on how to prepare for the attacks of the enemy. We will meet the first and third Wednesdays. For the first gathering, please take a snack to share. So we know how many books to order, please sign up on the sheet in the Fellowship Room.

for the nomination lists in your mailbox this week. The congregation is encouraged to pray and discern for those who have the gifts for the offices and nominate accordingly. All professing members may nominate 2 Elders and 2 Deacons. The list will include all active male professing members, ages 21-79, in good standing at Prosper CRC for at least one year as of January 1, 2022. Completed nomina-tions must be returned in a signed envelope by October 4.

• We praise God that we have a FULL teacher roster for every S.S. and

Catechism class! We also have a music leader and accompanists for the upcoming fall season! We still need a couple of GEMS counse-lors. THANK YOU to all who are willing to teach and lead our children!

• The Finance Committee and Deacons are working on the 2022

budget. A memo has been given to all service leaders; please let us know of your needs for the coming year. Anyone who has a ministry that you’d like to see Prosper support, please contact a deacon so we can evaluate it for the upcoming budget.

• 3rd quarter bacteria and the annual nitrate water samples were taken

and came back good.
