NEEDS ASSESSMENT
2. NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Setting Innovation needs and prioritiesBeta-i suggests revisiting the innovation needs of each partner regarding their collaboration with startups during Protechting. This allows the pursuit of several goals: early engagement from Business Units regarding Protechting expected outcomes, fine-tuning of the scouting process, building a more cohesive approach to the Protechting program from the partners perspective. It contributes to Innovation assessment of each corporate.
Individual Needs AssessmentAn individual Needs Assessment was developed with Fosun, H&A, Fidelidade and Luz Saúde. Here, were analysed the main innovation pains and challenges from each company. As you can see in the image, the Needs Assessment template asks for the following questions regarding each Business Unit:• What are the main challenges to be addressed with
a startup-corporate collaboration program like Protechting?
• What are the key technologies of interest for this business area?
• What can startups expect from collaborating with H&A in this business area

By direct contact, digital campaigns and by leveraging on international partners specialized platforms.Having a highly qualified pool of startup applicants is decisive for the overall program performance.Beta-i made use of communication channels, such as website and social media.
Scouting managementF6S startup applications management platform and digital tools (i.e. Dashboards, etc.) for results monitoring.Beta-I will prepare 1-Pagers of the applicants to ease the classification process. The partners will have access to the data submitted by the startups that apply to the program.Beta-i suggests the review of the applications form, in order to simplify it, without losing key information;Create, curate and share referrals database from all participants of the program – alumni and recommended by Utilities.

4. BOOTCAMP
A chance to fine-tune the selection of the startups for the program
The Bootcamp is a chance to meet the startups in person, give more time to the Top23 to explain their solutions and gain a deeper understanding of the startups’ value proposition as well as discuss and create first drafts of pilot plans. This moment is vital for a more accurate selection of the startups to work their pilot projects within corporate. The different moments promoted during the Bootcamp gave the utilities a better idea of the team to involve in the Acceleration Phase.
In order to give the right inputs for the success of a Bootcamp, we promoted a learning and MENTORINGmoment between Partners and Beta-i. This moment was mainly to analyse how to receive and APPROACH startups during the Bootcamp
