INT. FAMILY HOME. DAY

SI and his family are sitting down at the dining tableenjoying a meal. Si is a criminal in his former life who hasspent the last 20 years in prison for armed robbery andmissed his family evolve and his kids grow up, he’s still

got the angry side within him though and fights a dailybattle to stay on the straight and narrow. Si has beenmarried to Sarah since he was a young man despite spendingthe majority of his life within prison, she has given up herfriends and family to stay loyal to the love of her life.Si’s son, Emily had a bright upbringing as the family hadinherited a lot of money from parents hence the stablefinancial situation. Unfortunately for Emily she gotinvolved with the wrong people and has now been led down aroad of drug abuse by boyfriend, Michael. Emily has a sonwith a previous boyfriend called Teddy who has been caughtup in this whole process.

SI gives up trying to argue and punches a hole through thewardrobe before retiring for the night.

SCENE 2. INT. FAMILY HOME. MORNING

Si awakes from his sleep and there is no Sarah to be seen,

she has left for work. Si gets up and is confused as towhere he is, he goes downstairs and grabs a cup of orangejuice. Si looks out of the window and into the distance,it’s evident that he is thinking about what could have beenand the Dad he could have been. Si walks into his ’man cave’and picks the phone up.

INT. FAMILY HOME. MORINING. MAN CAVE

SIOi Rod

ROD (OS)What’s up Geez?

SIHow are you, fella?

SIThe fucking barracks? How has thishappened to my beautiful girl?She’s got a good kid and she’sbeing led down the wrong path bysome drug dealing prick.

Si slams the phone down and crumbles with tears rolling downhis face, he could have been there for Emily, he could haveguided her down a path different to the one he had lived,the grey hair had popped back into his head, it was allgoing wrong and he had been out for a day.

ACT 3. INT.FAMILY HOME. DAY

SI wakes up with Sarah next to her and all has be forgotten,he is calm and Sarah has enjoyed a good day at work.

Are you worried about Emily?

SARAHI’m always worried about her, butshe has her own life.

SII know that, but we can’t let herslowly kill herself

SARAHDon’t say that.

SIShe’s with a well known drug dealerwho’s dealing across the country.

SARAHAll will be fine, just let her geton with it, you lived your own lifeand she has the right to live hers

EXT. ROADSIDE. DAY

SI drives to Emily’s block of flats in his blacked outhummer, ROD gave him his address. ROD is already there andhe meets with SI.

RODI think it’s that one

ROD points towards a flat on the top floor

ACT 4. FLATS. DAY

SI walks up to the flats and ROD stays back at the Car asthey don’t want to make too much of a scene. SI reaches flat53, the one that Rod had pointed too. SI knocks the dooronce and doesn’t receive an answer. He then hears screamsfrom within the flat and knocks again.

SILet me in.

MICHAELYou can fuck off big man

SI kicks the door down and sprints to where he hears thenoise from.

Michael runs at SI with his fists clenched

Michael goes to hit SI but SI throws the punch first andcatches Michael straight in the chin. He falls and smasheshis head against the work top. Michael is laying on thefloor bleeding from the head.

(SCREAMING)Dad

SI picks up EMILY and carries her away, she is bleeding andcrying, SI runs down the flats stairs and to ROD’s car. Theydrive away

INT. FAMILY HOME. DAY

EMILY has been given her old room and settled there afterthe previous night’s antics. SI went to sleep knowing hisdaughter was safe but was awoken with blue flashing lightsoutside. SI walks downstairs and opens the door to two armedpoliceman.

The POLICE OFFICERS arrest SIMON and says his goodbyes toEMILY, TEDDY and SARAH. He is taken to the police car andasked to sit in the back. EMILY AND SARAH see SI and tearsroll down their face as they look through the upstairswindow.
