I. QUICK START 1. When the unit is plugged in and receiving power a red light will illuminate below the

On/Off and Program buttons.

2. Press the ON/OFF button. A blue light will illuminate next to a program to show the unit is on.

3. Press the PROGRAM button to cycle through the different programs. A blue light will be illuminated beside the program that has been chosen.

4. There are 4 programs that will continue to repeat every 15 minutes for the indicated amount of time shown below until the unit is turned off or reprogrammed.

• Low: 1 Minute• Medium: 2 Minutes• High: 4 Minutes• Maximum: 6 Minutes

5. When the light below the On/Off and Program buttons changes from red to blue the unit is producing Ozone.

6. At anytime you can turn the unit off by pressing the On/Off button.

Recurring timed usage: These recurring programs are best suited for destroying odors and killing bacteria in small rooms, closets, under cabinets, automobiles, boats, and other small spaces.

YOUR OZ UNIT WILL PRODUCE OZONE AT AN AVERAGE RATE OF 500 MG/HOUR.

Maximum level setting only in unoccupied or larger areas.

[ Tips ]

The EPA does not recommend breathing ozone gas in the air. Because ozone is effective, if you get too much it can make you cough, or cause a burning sensation in your eyes or sinuses. Breathing ozone is not recommended for the very young, elderly or asthma sufferers. Like some of our most common household tools, such as gasoline, bleach, electricity or even bug bombs, care should be taken! The EPA recommends moving to an area with no ozone if you do experience discomfort from overexposure to ozone gas.

II. HOME & OFFICE USESKeep the Kitchen Free of Odors: Keep the unit running in the kitchen to help control odors from food, fish, cooking oils, spices, and smoke.

Use in the Bathroom: Running in the bathroom will control odors and kill viruses and bacteria that could be lingering on items like toothbrushes, lavatories, and toilets.

Fresh Carpet, New Paint, or Glue Smell: Running the unit on maximum where any of these odors exist is a great way to neutralize them and leave the room smelling fresh and free of that chemical smell.

Use Around the Office: Works great at controlling odors and sanitizing in reception areas, janitorial closets, and break rooms.

Use it Anywhere: With the compact size of this unit, it can be used virtually anywhere you want to control odors and kill germs.

[ Tip ]

When staying at a hotel; check in, set the unit to run on Maximum, leave and return in an hour to a cleaner, fresher room. This will help remove unpleasant odors from hotel rooms such as smoke and kill germs or bacteria left behind from guests that stayed before you. If staying in a larger room, you may need to run the unit in the room and then in the bathroom to maximize effectiveness.

III. TRAVEL USESDon’t Leave Home Without It: Bringing the power of this unit to sanitize the area around you makes traveling safer and gives you peace of mind.

Great for Hotels, Cabins, & Cruises: Anytime you are going to be where others have stayed before you, this unit helps you to sanitize the area and remove lingering odors. Use it when you arrive by setting the unit to run at the Maximum level to help sanitize the area. Then continue to run the unit using a lower level program to keep the area clean for the duration of your stay.

The Oz Portable comes with a travel bag to hold and protect the unit and the power cord(s) on the go.

IV. ON THE GO USESAutomobiles: Park vehicle outside, place unit in vehicle overnight running on the Maximum level program to sanitize and remove odors just like you would a room. To help remove odors from air conditioning vents you can turn the car on and let it run for the first twenty minutes with the fan on to circulate the ozone through the vent system.

Rental Cars: Odors from the previous driver or the smell from the cleaners and chemicals used by the rental car companies can be overwhelming. Plugging the unit into the 12V or the “cigarette lighter” outlet and running it at lower level programs is effective at removing these odors.

RVs: In the small confines of an RV, odors can get out of control and build up when left closed and unoccupied. Running the unit can remove musty odors after being closed up and provide freshness when occupying the small space.

Boats: This unit is great for boat owners in helping to eliminate musty and engine odors in boat hulls. It is also great at killing mold and bacteria that can build up in damp spaces. [ Tip ]

Portable power packs can be purchased at many different in-store and online retailers. Combining one of these with the Oz Portable allows you to take this unit virtually anywhere.

WARNING: When using the unit in small

spaces like cars, use ExtremeCaution and turn the unit off and

leave the area if feeling any irritation from the ozone. The ozone will

revert back to oxygen in 15 to 30 minutes and it will

be safe to return.

Pet Areas: All pets have their area in your home. With use of this unit, you can enjoy having animals in your home without having to live with the odors that come along.

Bird and Reptile Cages: Set a unit up to run near the cages to control odors.

Litter Box Areas: Place a unit near the litter box to help eliminate any offensive odors in the area.

Dog Beds: Running a unit in the area of the dog bed is a great way to keep your house smelling fresh.

V. PET USES

You will need to experiment to find what level on the unit is most comfortable for your animals. Their sense of smell can be far stronger than humans. Animals will avoid the area if it the unit is producing more ozone than they are comfortable with.

VI. SMALL SPACE USESThe Oz Portable is at its Best in Small Spaces!Save Money on Dry Cleaning: To take care of odors in your dry clean only fabrics, place the article(s) in a small closet along with the unit and close the closet door. Set the unit to run on the Maximum level. Leave for several hours and the odors will begin to disappear.

Deodorize & Sanitize Items in Closets: Place shoes, clothing, toys, bedding, and other items in a closet. Place the unit inside and close the door. Set the unit to run on the Maximum level. Leave for several hours to remove odors and sanitize items.

Under Cabinets: Place a unit under cabinets to remove odors.

Small Sheds & Garages: This unit is ideal for helping remove musty and offensive odors from inside these areas including the smell of gasoline and exhaust from small engines.

VII. HUNTING USESOzone Destroys Human Odor.

Eliminate Scent in Clothing: Store your hunting gear in a closet with a portable unit placed inside. Setting the unit on Medium will keep odors away and increasing the level to Maximum the night before the hunt will help remove all scents.

Eliminate Odors on the Way to the Field: Running the unit in the vehicle on your way to the field helps assure you do not pick up any new scents. You can also place your clothes, hunting bags, and other items you are taking to the field in a box or a bag, place the unit inside, and run at Maximum level while traveling to the hunting site.

Don’t Just Cover Up but Completely Remove Scents While in the Field: The unit runs a little too loudly to run continuously while on the hunt but when you are setting up a stand or a blind and after you first arrive the unit can help neutralize odors.

Oz works from the inside out.

According to the EPA, pollutants in the typical home or office are at least 10 times higher than in outdoor air. Dust, pollen, molds, mildew, bacteria and viruses can fill the air in our living spaces. Fumes from paints, cleansers, carpets, pressed board, fabrics and other chemicals are also breathed in daily by you and your family. Oz uses the natural sanitizing characteristics of ozone to oxidize odors at their source. O3 usually dissipates in less than an hour and leaves the air smelling cleaner, fresher, and with no chemical residue.

How does ozone kill bacteria? Ozone kills germs by attacking and penetrating the cell walls of bacteria and viruses. Once enough ozone electrons have penetrated the cell the germs are destroyed. Ozone penetrates on contact, which is why it works so quickly—unlike chlorine which has to be absorbed by the cell. Read the fine print on your household cleaners. Many say to wash the counter, apply the product (usually bleach or alcohol), leave it on the surface 10 to 20 minutes, and then wash the counter off before letting food make contact with the counter. Whew, that’s a lot of work!

Oxygen to Ozone.

In nature, oxygen is regularly transformed into ozone through forces like lightning and when ultra-violet light from the sun strikes the Earth’s atmosphere. The oxygen molecule in the air we breathe is designated as O2. Ozone is essentially O2 with an extra oxygen molecule attached so it is designated as O3. Once ozone has done its work, the molecule changes back to O2 (regular oxygen) leaving no residue.

Oz produces ozone for a variety of purification purposes by sending an electrical current to a ceramic plate, splitting the O2 molecule and creating O3.
