Lavanda Fields DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1: USA – NICE, French Riviera

Board your overnight transatlantic flight to Nice, France. Relax and enjoy dinner,

movie, and breakfast on board.

Dia 2: Arrival at CANNES

Arrival at Nice airport. Meeting and assistance and transfer to your hotel in Cannes.

Time to explore this resort town on the French Riviera.

Welcome Dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant. Overnight in Cannes.

DAY 3: Visit CANNES & GRASSE

Buffet Breakfast and departure to visit the towns of Cannes & Grasse. First we wll enjoy a

panoramic tour of Cannes driving along the Sea Promenade of La Croisette and its emblematic

hotels such as the Carlton and the Martinez. Then we will stop at the Festival Palace, site of the

Red Carpet where so many celebrities of the film industry gather once every year.

We will walk throught the center of Cannes and the fishing wharf, now converted into a cruise

port. Later will climb to the Classic Quarters of Suquet, dotted with old restaurants carved in

the old city walls. At the top, next to the Church “de la Castre”, there is a lovely square with

exceptional panoramic views of Cannes and its Lerins Islands.

We continue to visit the “perfume city” of Grasse, which holds an important cultural heritage

related to the history of perfumes. We will also visit a perfume factory, distillery, soap making

factory and museum, as well as the fragrance workshops where skilled professionals create new

perfumes using their acute smelling senses.

Cannes also holds a vast forest from which a large part has been declared National Park.

DAY 4: Visit NICE, MONACO & SAN REMO

Buffet Breakfast. Today we head for Nice to visit this enchanting town. We will cover the Paseo

de los Ingleses (Promenade of the English), Masena Square, the Russian Chuch, etc. Will make a

stop at the Flower Market, and then will drive up and stop at the old Roman neighborhood of

Cimiez. The last stop will be at Mount Boron to enjoy a panoramic view of the Port of Nice, the

Bay of the Angels, and if the weather is clear, the island of Corsica.

We will continue on to Monaco and Montecarlo with spare time to visit the famous Casino or

perhaps have a coffee at Café Paris, and see the Grimaldi Palace. After that, we will drive along

one of the nicest mountain cliff roads of the French Riviera, passing by Villefranche Sur Mer,

St. Jean Ferray or Beaulieu and stopping at Eze to enjoy some free time to visit this extremely

well-preserved medieval town and meeting place of the high European an international jet set.

Then on to visit the “flower town” of San Remo, in Italy, a city rich in culture and history where

we will be able to admire the ancient 12th century Church of San Ciro, of Roman and Gothic

architectural style, as well as the 19th century Russian Orthodox Church.

DAY 5: Visit SAINT PAUL DE VENCE, CAGNES SUR MER & THE VALLEY OF THE

VESUBIE. Buffet Breakfast. This morning we head to Saint Paul de Vence, a small town

perched on the Moyen Pais mountains in Provence. The city was an old military base and

preserves its cannons and other similar parafernalia. Its unique brightness, tranquility, and

seaside atmosphere has attracted famous artists over time such as Jacques Prévert, Marc

Chagall, Yves Montand, Lino Ventura, Henri Matisse, Fernand Léger, Amedeo Modigliani,

Pablo Picasso, Simone Signoret, James Baldwin, Auguste Renoir, Mylène Farmer.

After this visit we continue on to Cagnes-sur-Mer, a medieval fortified town located between

Nice and Antibes. The city is crisscrossed by a myriad of narrow steep streets and quaint plazas

and the mountain top old Grimaldi castle of the 25th century.

Following the shores of the Var River we arrive in the “Valle de la Vesubie”. This valley is the

shortest of the Maritime Alpes, holding the famous “Carretera del Sal”. There we will visit the

Church of St. Michel in Roquebilliere, and the Chapel of San Sebastian in Venanson, decorated

by the artist Giovanni Baleison in 1841. We will drive through a part of the mountain dotted

with wooden houses, called the Little Switzerland.

Dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant. Overnight in Cannes.

DAY 6: CANNES – AIX-EN-PROVENCE (Visit SAINT TROPEZ, PORT GRIMAUD, AND

TOULON) Buffet Breakfast and transfer to Aix-en-Provence. En route we will stop in the town

of Port Grimaud with its lakes and channels and then will move on to the city of Saint Tropez,

where we will visit the fishermen’s port, the Citadel, the old quarters, The Lices Square, the

Museum, and the typical neighborhooh of the Barrio de la Ponche. Time for lunch on own an

continuation toward Toulon for a panoramic tour of the city and its famous Naval Base.

Dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant. Overnight in Aix-en-Provence.

DAY 7: AIX –EN-PROVENCE (Visit LES ALPILLESM ST. REMY & LES BAUX DE

PROVENCE)

Buffet Breakfast and departure to explore the Alpiles and the Provence countryside. We begin

today’s visit at the town of Eygalières to later visit the chapel of Saint Sixto. After a relaxing

morning, continue on to visit the city of Saint Rémy de Provence, one of the most typical

villages in this region with many stores showing the local products, especially flowers and

spices. Will also visit the museum of the Alpilles, located in a magnificent building preserving

the cultural and historic heritage of this town. To end our day, we will visit “Les Baux de

Provence” featuring the old ruins of a medieval city.

Dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant. Overnight in Aix-en-Provence.

DAY 8: Visiting AIX EN PROVENCE, MARSEILLE, AND CASSIS

Buffet Breakfast and morning visit of momumental Aix-en-Provence and the city of Cézanne,

one of the most important university towns in France, featuring an attractive old quarter and

the magnificent Cathedral of St. Saveur. After that, we will drive on to the old town of

Marseille, recently modernized including its relevant port. Here we will see plenty of seafood

stands and will enjoy a panoramic tour climbing to its highest point holding the Basílic de Notre

Dame de Garde with splendid views over the city and the Island of If, made famous in the

legend of the Count of Montecristo. Then on to visit the famous “Calanques”(Fiords located

between Marseille & Cassis). Weather permitting, we will be able to take a 3-hour boat ride on

the waters of these fiords.

Dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant. Overnight in Aix-en-Provence.

DAY 9: AIX EN PROVENCE (Visit the Gorges of the Verdon Canyon)

Buffet Breakfast. Today we will drive through the Verdon Regional Park with spectacular views

of the Provence countryside. Thys canyon is one of te most beautiful natural sites of the region.

The road to Valensole is scented by Lavanda and Wheat crop fields which has been cultivated

by local peasants since old times. During this tour, we will also visit a traditional Lavanda

distillery. After, we will continue on this same Regional Park to visit the town of Moustiers-

Sainte-Marie. Time to explore the town and get to meet some of the clay artisans. Return to

your hotel. Farewell Dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant. Overnight in Aix-en-Provence.

DAY 10: MARSEILLE OR NICE – USA

After your buffet breakfast, you will be picked up and transferred to the airport for your return

flight home, arriving later today.
