Clock

This clock is inspired from a painting called “United” by Wassily

Kandinsky and is an abstracted form of a solar clock.

The goal of this project was to design a timepiece based on movement,

incorporating the elements and principles of design.

The pyramid shape of the design presents two triangles that point to the

sun, suggesting the hour and minute hands. Instead of showing time in

the typical fashion using these traditional hands, this design displays the

hour and minute at the same time and same place but in two different

planes.

This preserves the primary clock function while exploring a different

format for the time information.

The red color cone functions as a second hand, and its accent color

helps to make the second hand function equally important, bringing

balance and unity to the piece.

E-Torch

This project addressed the need for a lighting fi xture within a

Zoroastrian shrine. This design is inspired by the Zoroastrian belief in

the purity of fi re.

The resulting fi xture provides accent lighting that supplements nearby

ambient light sources. Visitors to the shrine encounter this fi xture along

the primary corridor that leads to the prayer area and provides an

emotional reference for their prayer preparation.

Its shape interprets fi re in a contemporary fashion and takes inspiration

from the torches used in the 1988 Seoul and 2014 Sochi winter

Olympics events.
