Our corporate philosophy of the Group is “In Harmony with People and Nature.” We aspires to coexist with all the people around the world and the magnificent nature that surrounds us. We recently revised the Basic Principles of Suntory Group’s Environmental Policy, for the first time in five years, and formulated a new Social Activities Policy. These policies serve as a strengthened foundation for realizing our corporate philosophy Group-together.
We will continue to innovate, as a “Growing for Good” company, creating new values and building a society that can realize the brilliance of human life.
More than 90 years have passed since Suntory’s founder, Shinjiro Torii, formed his dream of creating an authentic whisky tailored to the palates of the Japanese people. Since that time Suntory has grown into an internationally beloved brand, having been recognized as “Distiller of the Year” in the International Spirits Challenge three years in a row. Suntory’s unwavering commitment to quality is not limited to our whisky, but extends to all Suntory products, which include beers, wines, soft drinks and health foods. Never content to sit on our laurels, we aim for constant improvement, striving to introduce the delicious appeal of the Suntory brand to as many customers as possible.
With the establishment of Beam Suntory Inc., we are now able to develop premium alcoholic beverages and food on a wider global scale. As a multi-faceted, unique producer of foods and beverages from Japan, we are displaying our founding “Yatte Minahare—Go for it!” spirit to the world, delivering top-quality products and services and contributing to fruitful and more brilliant lifestyles for customers around the globe.
In order to provide products that bring satisfaction and earn the trust of customers, the Suntory Group treasures communication with its customers above all else. We provide information based on the needs of customers on our website, and strive to broadly reflect every single customer voice seriously during quality improvements, product development, and other operations.

Activities include forest preservation through Natural Water Sanctuaries to cultivate water resources, energy and water conservation at plants, and reducing the weight of containers. The Suntory Group has also developed the “Suntory Mizuiku—Education Program for Nature and Water” to educate children so as to promote the value of “Coexisting with Nature” throughout society.

From a management perspective we believe that it is important that human rights be respected, not only within the Group but throughout the whole value chain. We constantly strive to raise awareness of human rights among our employees, and to follow socially responsible procurement. We respect diversity and consider it a means to perpetually create new value. Accordingly, we aim for a lively, motivated, inclusive and diverse workforce that fully embodies our motto of “Yatte Minahare—Go for it!”
R&D is the life force for a manufacturer. Inspired by the “Yatte Minahare—Go for it!” spirit, we strive to strengthen fundamental research, technological development, and product development, so as to continuously offer new value to our customers. In May 2015 we established the Suntory World Research Center in Keihanna Science City (Kansai Science City), which promotes R&D geared toward the creation of new values in the areas of “flavor,” “health” and “water/flower/environment.”
Inspired by our founder’s spirit of “Sharing the Profit with Society,” the Suntory Group works in harmony with and contributes to society in a variety of ways. The Group contributes to social welfare, education and other aspects of community; operates Suntory Hall and Suntory Museum of Art through public interest incorporated foundations; contributes to arts, academic research and local culture; and promotes involvement in sports. The Group also focuses on cultivating the next generation of youth in all of these fields. Furthermore, the Suntory Group is engaged in ongoing support for recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011. Support to date totals ¥10.8 billion, focused in areas such as the fishing industry, youth support, challenged sports, culture, the arts, and sports.

As a global alcoholic beverage and food company, we bring new value to our customers through variety of products and services.
Suntory was established in 1899, starting from the production and sale of wine. Since then we have grown as an alcoholic beverage and food company, creating the first Japanese whisky, challenging ourselves to compete in the innovative beer industry, and delivering a wide selection of products to customers. Aiming for greater growth, we pursue global expansion of our spirits business through Beam Suntory Inc., and have strengthened our beer business through establishment of Suntory Beer Ltd. We engage in high quality winemaking both in Japan and Europe, and also work with noted wineries around the world, developing our wine business from a global perspective.
Suntory has established Suntory Business Expert Ltd., which brings together operations that crosscut all Suntory Group companies, to carry out expert services related to optimization of management, quality assurance, technological development, supply chain management, advertising and design, customer relations, and business systems, while further improving the efficiency of group management. Our cross-functional companies are responsible for services such as fundamental research and operational support. We also proactively contribute to cultural and social activities, with backing for three public interest incorporated foundations that promote the arts, academic research and local culture, and a social welfare corporation that operates senior care facilities and nursery schools.
We are expanding our restaurant businesses both in Japan and overseas. These businesses include Dynac Corp., which develops unique and distinctive bars and restaurants, chain outlets in Japan such as Pronto, First Kitchen, Subway and Izutsu Maisen, and restaurant businesses centered in Mexico and Asia. In the flower industry we utilize biotechnologies fostered in our businesses to develop and supply a variety of products, including the world’s first blue rose. Additionally, we also engage in wall-greening and other greenification businesses, advertising, promotional support, and reception services for cultural facilities.
We deliver a variety of products, ranging from non-alcoholic beverages to health food and ice cream so that we may contribute to our customers leading rich and healthy lives. The company has been expanding its lineup in different beverage categories, including mineral water, canned coffee, green tea, oolong tea, carbonated drinks, and food for specified health uses (FOSHU). For years, we have also been developing our health food business, making use of biotechnology and scientific research. Furthermore, we have been making efforts to actively expand our businesses overseas in Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas.

We recently revised the Basic Principles of Suntory Group’s Environmental Policy, for the first time in five years, and formulated a new Social Activities Policy. These policies serve as a strengthened foundation for realizing our corporate philosophy Group-together.
We will continue to innovate, as a “Growing for Good” company, creating new values and building a society that can realize the brilliance of human life.
More than 90 years have passed since Suntory’s founder, Shinjiro Torii, formed his dream of creating an authentic whisky tailored to the palates of the Japanese people. Since that time Suntory has grown into an internationally beloved brand, having been recognized as “Distiller of the Year” in the International Spirits Challenge three years in a row. Suntory’s unwavering commitment to quality is not limited to our whisky, but extends to all Suntory products, which include beers, wines, soft drinks and health foods. Never content to sit on our laurels, we aim for constant improvement, striving to introduce the delicious appeal of the Suntory brand to as many customers as possible.
With the establishment of Beam Suntory Inc., we are now able to develop premium alcoholic beverages and food on a wider global scale. Environmental management at the Group is guided by two tenets: “preserving and regenerating the natural environment,” and “reducing environmental impact.” The Suntory Group has established the Suntory Environmental Vision toward 2050, as well as targets for 2020. Activities include forest preservation through Natural Water Sanctuaries to cultivate water resources, energy and water conservation at plants, and reducing the weight of containers. The Suntory Group has also developed the “Suntory Mizuiku—Education Program for Nature and Water” to educate children so as to promote the value of “Coexisting with Nature” throughout society.

From a management perspective we believe that it is important that human rights be respected, not only within the Group but throughout the whole value chain. R&D is the life force for a manufacturer. Inspired by the “Yatte Minahare—Go for it!” spirit, we strive to strengthen fundamental research, technological development, and product development, so as to continuously offer new value to our customers. In May 2015 we established the Suntory World Research Center in Keihanna Science City (Kansai Science City), which promotes R&D geared toward the creation of new values in the areas of “flavor,” “health” and “water/flower/environment.”
Inspired by our founder’s spirit of “Sharing the Profit with Society,” the Suntory Group works in harmony with and contributes to society in a variety of ways. The Group contributes to social welfare, education and other aspects of community; operates Suntory Hall and Suntory Museum of Art through public interest incorporated foundations; contributes to arts, academic research and local culture; and promotes involvement in sports. The Group also focuses on cultivating the next generation of youth in all of these fields. Furthermore, the Suntory Group is engaged in ongoing support for recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011. Support to date totals ¥10.8 billion, focused in areas such as the fishing industry, youth support, challenged sports, culture, the arts, and sports.
