This checklist comprises of most common points which are checked by port state control officer. The checklist has to be completed by senior officer before arriving to a port or prior to PSC inspection. Fire pump is operational from bridge and required pressure is generated

DECK CHECKS

No corrosion of deck plates, hatches and openings visible

Cargo hatch is in good condition and watertight integrity is maintained

All other openings in the deck are weather and water tight and operating correctly

ECDIS as per regulation

Sounding pipes, vent pipes, air pipes etc. are in good condition and their closing arrangement is working fine

Cat walks, railings, bulwarks etc. are not corroded and in good condition

Gangway is in good condition and safety net is used while rigging the gangway

Navigation lights and sounds are working correctly

Fire hydrant and hoses are in good working condition with no leakages

All fire dampers accessed from deck are functioning properly

Funnel flap is in working condition

SOPEP locker is provided with all pollution prevention equipment

Pain room is provided with fire fighting arrangement and well arranged

Pump room inspection is carried out for safety purpose

Bunker area is cleaned and pressure

testing dates on bunker line is stenciled

Lifeboats and rafts are in good condition including lifeboat accessories

All crew is aware of Lifeboat drill and duties

Snap back zone is marked in the mooring stations

Good crane and davit condition

ENGINE ROOM CHECKS

General cleanliness of engine room is well maintained

Record of retention of oil on board is maintained

No oil leakage from machinery or system

All high temperature fuel pipe system are jacketed as per regulations

All high temperature fuel pipes joints are protected with anti splashing tapes

All steam pipes are insulated

All pollution prevention equipment are operational

No oil traces in the overboard pipe of OWS

OWS 15 ppm alarm working and logged

Oil Record book is up-to-date and signed by master and chief engineer

Fire pump and emergency fire pump is in good working condition and developing required pressure

No untagged/ unlogged flexible hoses are present in the engine room

All engineers knows emergency maneuvering operation

Accommodation is well-maintained and clean

Galley fire flaps are operational and crew knows the fire fighting system provided for galley

Required posters are pasted inside accommodation

Duties of crew is posted in his/her room

EEBD and lifejackets are provided as per requirement

All alarms and indicating lights inside accommodation are working

Fire call point are inside accommodation and operational

Garbage management plan is pasted and followed
