The OCS Safety and Access Division covers four main business areas:

We offer maintenance, inspection and testing solutions for safety at height as well as the design and installation of permanently installed façade access equipment and fall arrest equipment.

We were formed in 1986 and employ some of the most experienced and qualified people in this field who use their expertise to find solutions to any height safety equipment problems tasked to us.

OCS Safety Testing

OCS Safety Testing is the largest fall arrest testing company in the UK. OCS Safety Testing operates across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Our engineers are vastly experienced and fully qualified in all aspects of the maintenance, repair and installation of fall arrest equipment, and many have over 15 years’ experience in the industry.

We are constantly improving the services we offer with additional product training and accreditations to ensure we can offer the best and most cost effective solutions to our clients.

We take pride in knowing we offer a first class service across the whole spectrum of technical advice, administrative support and engineering field expertise to our customers at all times, from compact “single building” jobs to large multi-building portfolios. Our team has grown significantly over the last few years to ensure we can continue to offer a quality service and maintain national coverage to our growing list of clients. OCS Safety Testing

Locally-based teams ensure we are able to offer competitive pricing for all servicing jobs and to respond quickly to clients’ requests. Our turnaround is normally less than one week from receipt of order to completion of the site visit. We work closely with clients, offering full site surveys to ensure their needs are met and detailed prior to any works being carried out.

Our certificates are the most comprehensive provided within the industry, giving the client peace of mind and a high level of certainty that the equipment being used carries a valid test certificate.

In addition, the products we use in carrying out repairs and upgrades are sourced from carefully selected key suppliers whose products are tested and certified to current legislation.

By ensuring we only use a few carefully selected suppliers with whom we work very closely, we ensure our products are consistent and of the highest quality available to the industry. Also we can ensure that not only do we obtain the best pricing, but that we can also pass on quality products to our end clients at competitive prices, thus building better relationships with our clients and suppliers alike.

OCS Safety Installation

At OCS Safety Installation we pride ourselves on delivering a perfect solution from conception to completion on any access and safety requirements.

OCS Safety Installation employs highly qualified staff with many years’ experience in the industry. We pride ourselves on delivering excellence to our clients, offering peace of mind that you are in good hands. We also ensure each member has an in-depth knowledge of British Standards and legislation to ensure conformity.

Due to our office locations we are able to provide full UK coverage and we are happy to take onboard projects of all sizes.

The access solutions we offer include fall protection systems, handrail systems (both structurally affixed and freestanding), walkways, handrails, ladders and bespoke systems of individual and collective protection. We have nationwide coverage and provide solutions for buildings of all shapes, sizes and age.

OCS Safety Installation is a Latchways and Kalzip Approved Installer and has close working relationships with these suppliers.

OCS Access Maintenance

OCS Access Maintenance is the largest provider of maintenance services for permanently installed suspended access equipment in the UK.

Part of the PTSG group – a leading supplier of niche specialist safety services – we are the only provider with engineers based locally across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

We provide maintenance, inspection, testing and repair services for all types of equipment including building maintenance units, gantry systems, cradle systems, monorail systems and lifting equipment. We also operate systems for other purposes such as brickwork inspections and repairs, window glazing repairs, cladding surveys, external lighting, etc.

OCS Access Maintenance can cover all access requirements on all buildings and sites. From small internal systems to giant buildings with multiple external machines, we work on office blocks, airports, railway stations, shopping centres, residential towers and other sites across the UK and Ireland.

OCS Access Maintenance

Our engineers maintain, inspect and test a wide variety of equipment. Principally we work on suspended access equipment such as building maintenance units, cradle systems, monorails, gantries and travelling ladders ensuring that they are safe to use. We also work on factory lifting equipment, hoists, runway beams, ladders, drop down fire escapes, MEWPs, etc.

We work on contracts from less than £1k to more than £100k per year, from single buildings to portfolios with hundreds of individual sites. We carry out repairs from replacing a single limit switch to complete refurbishment and overhaul of even the largest machines.

Our aim is to work closely with our clients, listening to what they need and how they work then ensuring that we tailor our offer to suit their requirements. All our clients benefit from technical advice over the telephone and we are also more than happy to conduct site surveys where face to face discussions often produce the most cost effective solutions that really work on site.

We also offer longer term fixed price contracts (three to five years) and can provide budget forecasts and advice.

We can plan site works annually in advance to allow clients to plan insurance inspections, window cleaning, etc.

Our electrical division is the UK market leader in the design, installation and maintenance of electrical earthing and lightning protection systems.

Thor Lightning Protection Ltd

Thor Lightning Protection Ltd was established in April 1993. We have a wealth of experience in the design, installation and testing of lightning protection and earthing systems in accordance with current British and European standards.

Depending on your needs, our expert design team can provide either a standard or custom solution. When required, layout drawings will be produced to meet architect, consultant and contract engineer specifications.

All new installations, remedial work, testing and inspections are undertaken by our experienced and thoroughly trained engineers.

We also provide additional services when ‘rope access’ equipment is required plus installation and testing of fall arrest systems.

Thor Lightning Protection Ltd
