HOW TO HATCH 'tl!lESTLING WHATS HAPPENING FIRST: Both wrestlers come forHard to the center of the mat and shake

hands. NEXT: The referee blows his whistle an:! signals "wrestle" . NOW: Each wrestler is trying to get his opponent off of his feet and

wind up on top of or behind him in control. This is a "TAKEDOWN" POINTS:The first points are likely to be given for a takedowns , THEN: The defensive (usually bottom man) wrestler is trying to escape

(get away) or reverse his position to get on top or behind his opponent . The offensive (usually the top man) wrestler is trying to get a hold with which he can keep his opponents shoulder on the mat for two seconds . A PIN.

Each match has three periods, which are two minutes long . FIRST PERIOD: Starts from standing or neutral position. No control tor

either wrestler. . SECOND PERIOD:Starts from the "refereos position" . One wrestler in the

top P?sition (advantage) and the other wrestler in the bottom position (disadvantage).

THIRD PERIOD: Starts with the position at the start of the 2nd. Period reversed. -· - - -·

INDIVIDUAL SCORING Take downs - 2pts. Whenever one wrestler takes his opponent orr his

feet and gets on top of or behind from a standing position.

'tlhenever a defensive wrestler gains a position where his opponent is no longer on top or behind him Whenever a defensive wrestler changes positions with his opponent and is now on top or behind.
