Publisher’s Note After more than 7 years as Editors of Current Opinion in Cell Biology, Marc Kirschner and Kai Simons thought that it was time for ‘new blood’ to take the journal forward. During their time as Editors the journal has gone from strength to strength and become one of the lead- ing cell biology reviews journals. We will miss their many ideas and suggestions for the journal. Fortunately, Marc has agreed to stay on for one more year to advise the new Editors. We are delighted that Don Cleveland and Ari Helenius have accepted the Editorship of Current Opinion in Cell Biology and are sure that their input will help the journal to become even better. Don and Ari would be pleased to hear your suggestions for the development of the journal, and they can be contacted through the Editorial office in London. We would like to thank Kai for his work over the years and we would like to wish him well in the future. Certainly, Kai will be very busy with the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden and the European Life Scientist Organisation, and we are sure that both ventures will be a success.
