As of 1 January, 2014, Developmental Biology, Official Journal of the Society for Developmental Biology (SDB), will have a new Editor in Chief. We are extremely pleased that Marianne E. Bronner agreed to take on this position.

Robb Krumlauf will step down on the same date, exactly eight years after Eric Olsen passed him the torch on 1 January 2006. We are tremendously grateful for Robb’s outstanding work on the journal in the past years. And also, at this moment, for continuing to work on the journal at full speed, while simultaneously collaborating with Marianne and us in preparation for the smoothest possible transfer.

We welcome Marianne to the journal, and thank Robb for his great contributions to the journal.
