Description/Location• Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of

the US.• PR is located in the northeastern Caribbean,

east of the Dominican Republic, and west of both the US Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands.

• Puerto Rico, Spanish for rich port, is composed of one main island and various smaller islands.

• Due to its location, Puerto Rico enjoys a tropical climate and is subject to beautiful weather all-year-round. The national language is Spanish but English is recognized as an official language as well.

• The tourism product is defined as the addition of a whole tourism package to meet the clients expectations. These would include accommodation, tourism, meals, entertainment, transport among others.

Geographic Features• The island of Puerto Rico is a

very popular tourist destination because of its location, rich history and warm atmosphere.

• Puerto Rico, due to its relatively short width and its east-west running mountain chain, does not have long rivers or large lakes.

Climate• The climate is Tropical Marine with an average temperature of 80°F . Puerto Rico enjoys warm and sunny days most of the year. Lightweight clothing is appropriate year-round. The winds, which blow from the East, moderate temperatures and rainfall.

• The north side of the island is covered by thick plant life.  Here we can explore tropical rainforests filled with beautiful plants. We can also see rare wildlife, such as the Puerto Rican Parrot and the Coqui, a small singing tree frog.

Environment• Much of Puerto Rico is

covered with mountains. A rugged range of mountains runs east-west across the center of the island.

• The land along the coastline of Puerto Rico is lowland, with hundreds of miles of beautiful sandy beaches.

Gateway Points • You could consider

San Juan, Puerto Rico as a gateway both for cruisers and people wanting to explore the island’s natural parks. It can also be a jumping off point to visit other Caribbean islands by plane

Rico includes a system of roads, highways, freeways, airports, ports and harbors, and railway systems, serving a population of just about 4 million inhabitants year-round. It is funded primarily with both local and federal government funds.

hundreds of different types of attractions. There will always be something to do when you take a trip to visit, this is why Puerto Rico is one of the top tourist destinations in the US
