In our school we don’t settle for second best, but do everything possible to achieve excellence. This includes working as a team because we believe that we are better together, encouraging each other to continuously improve.

We understand that positivity encourages us to be better people; dynamic and determined. We show tolerance and compassion to everyone we meet, through both our language and our actions.

We build people up instead of knocking them down, we admit our mistakes and we believe in fresh starts and second chances.

We understand that everything which is worth having requires time and effort. In our school we don’t just give up when things get difficult but we keep trying until we succeed. Our skills, our relationships, our future; these all need planning, preparation, practice and sometimes patience.

We work hard every day and take pride in our personal appearance and the facilities around us. We care about punctuality and attendance, above all else we believe in ourselves.

The world is full of opportunities and we believe that everyone has the potential to achieve amazing things. We aim high in everything we do, we are constantly creative and expressive, we get involved, we take initiative and dare to be independent. We learn from inspirational people, in return try to inspire others in our daily lives.

We want to become life long learners so we are equipped to face any future challenge of Twenty First Century life. We know that sometimes being challenged can be uncomfortable but we also know that it helps us to grow and develop as people. We dare to try, in our lessons and in life.

Why is attendance important ?

90 % attendance is really good! ……….OR IS IT

90% attendance = ½ day missed each week

1 year at 90% attendance = 4 weeks off school per year in addition to

the 13 weeks holiday

90% attendance over 5 years in high school = ½ a school year missed

Government research suggests that 17 missed days at school per year =

1 whole GCSE grade dropped.

80% attendance over 5 years = 1 whole year of school missed.

Punctuality

Punctuality Pupils are expected to arrive at class and form on time and will be marked late when they are not. Persistent lateness will result in detention.

Food on Corridors

Food - No food is to be eaten on the corridors for health and safety reasons. Litter is expensive to clear up and attracts vermin.
