Ages 8-12 CLAY CREATIONS Have fun playing with clay through learn- ing to coil a small bowl and mask making. Class will talk about masks and how they have been used in movies, stories, and history. Ages 8-14. CODE BREAKERS Calling all future coders, programmers, & designers! Learn the basics of coding languages like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS through a series of web projects and design challenges each day. Separate sections offered for these age groups: 8-11 and 11-14. CREATE YOUR OWN ARTIST’S BOOK I Spend a week creating words and images that tell your magical story! Bring photos, poems, quotes, drawings—anything you want to include in your very own book. Ages 6-8 DRAWING AWESOME, AMAZING, INCREDIBLE ANIMALS Bears, coyotes, giraffes, zebras and more—learn to draw amazing animals with artist Stephanie Schuemann! Create a sketchpad of your drawings to take with you. Bring a snack for break and an 11x14 sketchbook. All ages welcome. GIANT PUPPETRY WORKSHOP This workshop is a weeklong intensive where you will design and build a large parade puppet! Students will design their puppet around a central theme then be asked to walk the completed puppet(s) in the 4th of July Loggerodeo Parade, high- lighting their work for the public. Materials fee of $45 payable to instructor first day. Ages 14 & up. JAPANESE & KOREAN CULTURE Learn about Japanese and Korean culture and writing. Create origami charms and fish kites, and learn how to make tradition- al Korean snacks and kimbap! Ages 10-14. MAKE YOUR FIRST 3D VIDEO GAME Try this new version of a Black Rocket classic! This class allows you to develop a game concept that goes well beyond the limitations of the traditional 2D game design classes and create an immersive 3D world. Students will learn the physics behind 3D games, explore beginner event scripting, level design, controlling flow of gameplay, and story telling. Separate sections offered for these age groups: 8-11 & 11-14. MAKING BOOKS AND OTHER FUN STUFF Get creative and messy with unique proj- ects, painting and drawing, making books and other fun stuff! Warning: If you are allergic to latex, be advised. Latex products are used in this course. Materials fee of $45 payable to instructor first day. Ages 14 & up. MINECRAFT ANIMATORS Bring your favorite Minecraft characters to life in an animated short film! Learn how studios like Pixar and Disney make movies like Inside Out and Frozen by using tech- niques like keyframing, tweening, textur- ing, and animating rigged 3D models! You do not need to own a Minecraft account to use the software in this class. Return- ing students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Mac users can play their project at home, but will not be able to edit the project without a PC. Separate sections offered for these age groups: 8-11 & 11-14. MINECRAFT MODDERS Use your favorite game to learn the basics of modding and foundations of program- ming. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mods! Introductory coding will also be taught through a sim- ulated environment inspired by Minecraft. To access their project at home students must own a PC/MAC version of Minecraft. Tablet, phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. Returning students can create more advanced proj- ects that build on previous years.
