Purpose and scope of SA 8000

This standard specifies requirements for social accountability to enable a company to:

1) Develop, maintain, and enforce policies and procedures in order to manage those issues which it

can control or influence;2) Demonstrate to interested parties that policies,

procedures and practices are in conformity with the requirements of this standard.

The requirements of this standard shall apply universally with regard to geographic location,

industry sector and company size.

Train people to do 5 S daily .

Level I Application: Visible to everyone.

Level II Application: Visible (mainly) to you, your associates, and subordinates.

• Your files.

Level III Application: Not physically visible. The effectiveness of your merchandising operation/processing. It will be seen as the results of your work. It is an internal thing, internal of your capability, internal of your work habits.
