What are Indicators?

• Indicators are a tool to help you focus your tobacco prevention activities and bring change to your community. They are also used to measure your progress for tobacco prevention.

Examples:•24/7

•Earned media that exposes the tobacco industry

•Creating ordinances that mirror state tobacco laws

What are Social Capital Assets (SCA)?

• Social Capital Assets are different because, they reflect participation, support, and empowerment to achieve a common goal in tobacco prevention.

Examples:

• Extent of community activism among youth

•Increase community participation

•Provide training

What Is Project Planning?

Project planning is…• A formal process

• A “futuristic” activity

• Proactive rather than reactive
