# OTHER (PLEASE SPECIFY) DATE

1 Depending on restrictions, our children will either go to school (favored) or be homeschooled. 6/15/2020 12:57 AM

2 I don't have good internet service at my house and I don't think asking kids to be masked by thethousands at school will be safe or effective, I'm at a loss. This arrangement we have so farisn't working for my student.

6/14/2020 7:22 PM

3 My child currently is enrolled at explorer Academy and will continue there. If he is required towear a mask...he will not attend class

6/14/2020 6:40 PM

4 My son has Asthma I’m worried he will have troubles with having a mask all day. My problemthough is he is in speech and has ADD so he will need the help with that as well.

10 No alternate plan 6/13/2020 12:01 AM

11 My kids will only return to school if there is not ridiculous measures in place. My children need apositive safe place for learning not a place of fear. I will not allow my kids to be subjected toextreme unnecessary guidelines including masks and partitions. My kids need to socializewithout being afraid.

6/12/2020 10:17 PM

12 My children both really miss school. That being said I don't think its feasible to expect kids soyoung to wear a mask for 7 hours a day 5 days a week and still get learning done. I think ahybrid model with only a few kids from the class attending each day while spending the rest ofthe days remote learning is the best option. I don't think there is really a right answer that willmake everyone happy and I hope that a solution can be found that works best for the majority. Iknow it would be hard for our family to have our kids attend school on different days from eachother as well.

6/12/2020 8:43 PM

13 If the district implements strict measures like requiring wearing masks, taking away activitiesand restricting lunches... I will more than likely keep my children home. Our students neednormalcy and personal connections. I do think it’s important to sanitize things, wash hands andremind the kids now to share food or drinks. Also, to cover their mouths when coughing.

6/12/2020 8:43 PM

14 I would prefer year round schooling with students divided into different tracks and it wouldrotate. I went to school in Las Vegas like that. I liked the not so big gaps for summer break. Notall students would start and go at the same time so smaller class sizes. Just seems to be agood idea to shift to for our district and the times we are in mow and would benefit the studentsmost. Also helps with not so many clustered together at once....just an idea I fully like andwould support and from what I hear, many other parents would support.

18 my concern is that my child has ADHD as well as asthma, I am worried that she won't have therecess outlet she desperately needs in order to release energy to help her focus and im worriedabout her asthma with mask wearing and her inability to maintain wearing one as well as otherchildren

6/12/2020 2:36 PM

23 Remote school from school with remote learning experience such as K12 6/12/2020 7:01 AM

24 I want my kids to go to school just like the did before it all started. They need to have recessesand play with other kids just like before. Social interaction is best for their brains. They need tobuild up immune systems. If they get the flu, it will only make them stronger and capable offighting it off in the future. I want everything back to “old normal”.

6/12/2020 6:43 AM

25 If We are not attending a traditional school setting I might seek other options to make sure mykids have structured learning. My kids will benefit from being back in Traditional school.

6/11/2020 11:51 PM

26 I haven't decided if I will send my child to school or if I will homeschool. I am worried that thestrict regulations put into place will have a detrimental impact on her social emotionaldevelopment

6/11/2020 10:25 PM

27 I will homeschool my children if another closure occurs. 6/11/2020 10:19 PM

28 I would love for my children to return to school and be able to learn with the proper help theyneed with the learning disabilities they have but requiring them to wear a mask if going tohinder them from learning properly. Switching between online learning and in school learning isgoing to hinder students from learning properly. It's not just my children I am concerned aboutit's all children.

6/11/2020 4:56 PM

49 It all depends on decisions. If all else fails we will home school. 6/11/2020 9:56 AM

50 CLEANLINESS is most concerning. HS had huge absences last year due to it not beingproperly cleaned. It needs more janitors. More attention to cleaning and sanitizing.

6/11/2020 9:50 AM

51 At school model preferred 6/11/2020 9:41 AM

52 If stipulations are in place where my child has to sit in a desk all day without the socialinteractions or pe and music class I don't think he will be able to handle it. He needs to move. He's doing well with the online stuff. If the social stuff is stunted there is no point in him beingthere. I also don't want him to get sick from the virus so keeping him safe is my main concern.

6/11/2020 9:27 AM

53 If my kids cannot return to a full functioning school, they will be homeschooled. COVID is blownout of proportion!

57 I answered yes 6/11/2020 8:03 AM

58 No opinion 6/11/2020 7:37 AM

59 One of the main reasons why my children attended school was to be in an educational settingwhere they can learn and experience social interactions with their peers. I do not want mychildren attending school in a setting resembling office cubicles, unable to interact with thosearound them. They are children, not drones. Additionally, if the covid vaccine is mandatory toattend school, my children will not be associated with the school district, I will home school mychildren. Vaccine trials take 10-15 years, not months, to obtain study results. In light of covid,no matter how promising the results may be, I am against a vaccine for a virus with a mortalityrate less than the common flu.

6/11/2020 7:28 AM

60 Depending on the protocols for the coming year, I might home-school. I do not like the idea ofmy children being forced to wear a mask all day. I think there are physical dangers to that, suchas higher risk for respiratory infection. I believe that if the virus has such a low transfer rate, only those at high risk should wear masks and even then, they should be the proper ones, withtime allowed in between wearing them to breath oxygen properly. I am concerned that there willbe an over reach in personal rights concerning the virus. I am also concerned about thesuggested quarantine if my children are exposed, and what that looks like for the rest of ourfamily and how the school would handle multiple exposures. Would my child's personalinformation being given to new systems of tracking for exposure, and how do I know that thatpersonal information is kept safe? I personally think the virus is not as serious as was firstindicated and that the state needs to adjust it response accordingly. I appreciate all the schoolis doing to protect the students but do not want my child in an environment with unprovensafety measures being enforced with no science to back it up. I might consider the hybridmodel, with common sense applied to the time my student is in school. Thank you!

6/11/2020 6:33 AM

61 I think that classes like Auto Shop should be in school but things that can be fought onlineshould be taught online with more zoom type interaction for instruction

65 I think my child would benefit going to class everyday with Regular instructional learning 6/10/2020 11:41 PM

Also maybe just do the main subjects (language arts, history, science, and math). Have school be year long. Hopefully that would help them make up for thisspring. 139 We want our child to continue to attend school at SKSD. However, we believe that full-time in-person instruction is critical to the students’ success. If this is not available, we may be forcedto seek alternative options.

6/10/2020 12:04 PM

140 We are happy to return to school full time, operating as usual, with reasonable safety protocolsin place. The mental/emotional health of our children is as important as physical health, andconnections with fellow students and health adults whose facial expressions they can see arean important part of this social contact.

167 I just don't trust that other parents are going to enforce face masks and sanitation rituals.Mandatory rules must be made and enforced.

6/10/2020 11:13 AM

168 I answered NO OPINION to masks because a face mask only prevents 10% transmission. Mostpeople touch the masks creating a greater vessel for transmission vs if none was used at all. They are not necessary in school setting. Im comfortable with my Children attending schoolwithout masks. The questions above indicate im uncomfortable. No answer is available for Imalready comfortable without these interventions put in place.

185 We are not sure yet 6/10/2020 10:49 AM

186 I would like the kids to go to school with the hybrid model but only if the kids and staff wearmask checked temp before and during school. Very stricted hygiene rules and cleaningclassroom and supplies not just once a day but throughout the day. Also have the kids seatfurther from each other. And no assemblies or events where the kids are to close to each other.

6/10/2020 10:48 AM

211 If you require them to wear masks or the instructors or in general any special guidelines thenwhat would be the point in sending them back.? The WHO states masks might be detrimentalor helpful, they could not say as there was not enough data, so everyone decided to potentiallyharm themselves and others more by wearing them? Stupid decisions are hard to want to sendkids to a school that those are made at, please know I have had this "virus" and it is not bad likea bad cold honestly and was just fine, this was of course before anyone knew what it was backin November time frame last year, in fact lots of people had it, but did not know what it was. to sound worse, then lumping those with lower respiratory infections in with the actual "virus"having individuals to inflate the stats. Tell me... Do you want to wear a mask and be afraid therest of your life? We are Americans, lets just be that, not scared of anything and wont backdown from a fight! We will be alright the kids are even less affected by this. My wife works as ascreener for Covid-19 as a licensed medical professional, as I am an "essential" service aswell, neither one of us have met or seen anyone with the "virus" this entire time, she screens50+ people a day for the prior 3 months now, as there was such a drop in patients at heroriginal clinic they closed down, that is when she got her screener job... which now is notneeded anymore and they are returning to normal. So lets follow the professionals that havesome neutrality in things and are not political and do the same. If you are under 60 you are justfine! No reason to wear masks unless you are sick or unless you are working with a covid-19having person! That is from the World Health Organization, the people that started the researchand alerted the world on this entire topic!!!! Stop with the idiocy and let our kids return to anormal and happy life for gods sake!

212 If education resumes where the children can interact, have group learning, see facialexpressions and not be in masks or a teacher in a mask, they will attend public. If the drasticmeasures being discussed today (partition separation, masks, no recess, lunch at desks, nogroup seating, constantly sanitizing, etc..) are put in place, I will homeschool.

6/10/2020 10:23 AM

215 I don't feel it's necessary that teachers or staff wear masks. I'm a nurse who works at a SNFand Hospital and feel this age group is safe to move forward.

6/10/2020 10:11 AM

6/10/2020 10:11 AM

222 If changes were made to improve online learning that would be somewhat acceptable foranother temporary solution

6/10/2020 10:11 AM

223 Only if there is online school and masks are required, I have a Kindergartener, she would hatewearing a mask all day...

6/10/2020 10:09 AM

224 If the requirements for my child to attend school this fall require them to social distance, wearmasks, and feel “quarantined” at school, then they will not be returning to public schoolunfortunately.

6/10/2020 10:09 AM

225 I am most concerned about math and science instructional with a teacher. 6/10/2020 10:09 AM

226 I am waiting to see what the district decides to do AND how well they explain it (i.e. Is the planpractical, is the district prepared to actually do it, does the district seem organized and ready tostart on day one) i am prepared to pull my kids out of school if they start and safe protocols arenot maintained or not to send them at all if it sounds like just words with no practical plan thatcan actually be implemented in real achools with real kids. It would be most wise to operateremotely until a vaccine is available. Numerous disruptions and changes in format due to spikesin cases would be very challenging for staff, students, and parents.

6/10/2020 10:02 AM

227 Online learning has been a total waste of time during this. My student's teachers either didn'tinteract at all or one teacher just kept assigning projects that make life at home difficult. 234 Until there is a vaccine that all students, teachers and staff are required to get, how can it besafe? Unless something changes in the next 3 months, I feel that I have no choice but toeducate from my home. Online school since March has not worked in my opinion. My 8th gradedaughter had no educating from any teacher. Her geometry teacher never had a zoom class. He sent out assignments and that's it. Orchestra had a few zoom classes but they never playedtheir instruments. WEB class had 1 assignment for the entire time. History had several bigstudy projects with no guidance other than how to use the tools on line and science did thesame. While teachers weren't prepared for this, they had plenty of time to figure it out. Whycouldn't they have simply "taught" their classes during the same time periods on zoom. Gettingthe kids to "show up" would have been the parents responsibility just as it was ours to makesure they got to school. This has been done in a number of colleges that I know of and some k-12 schools. I feel our school district failed our kids these last 3 months. I don't want to have tohome school because social interaction is a big part of human well-being but education is too.Something better has to happen.

6/10/2020 9:56 AM

235 Recommendation that teachers sometimes conduct live recording of them teaching so that thechildren who cannot return will not feel totally left out. It is very risky to have kids return fromschool if there are family members who have compromised immune systems as well asstudents who have compromised immune systems.

239 School needs to resume as normal 6/10/2020 9:53 AM

240 Teachers continuing to maintain Google Classroom pages for all assigned work whetherclasses partially resume in person or not would allow students who are not comfortablereturning or who live with vulnerable adults to continue learning at the same pace as thosestudents who may choose in person learning. Maybe consider live streaming the instructionportions of the classroom experience.

6/10/2020 9:53 AM

241 Go back to school! I’m also a teacher (elementary) with a high school student. If he has to stayhome, I will be in a pinch if I have to go to school. This has been harder on our older populationbecause school is so social for them. It is a time they are forming their own ideas and theiridentity. They need other well rounded and intellectual adults to interact with (their teachers).

257 Concern for fall flu and COVID19 flaring back up in fall. I would suggest teachers recommendstudents that are successful with online school and students that struggle. Obviously studentsthat struggle need assistance and structure. No sharing lockers, etc.

274 Would feel most comfortable with all remote learning or a hybrid model until there is a vaccine. It has been demonstrated elsewhere that once economy/schools open, virus cases willincrease. I would prefer to stay with the school district in a hybrid/remote model as opposed toleaving and doing homeschooling.

6/10/2020 9:37 AM

279 I plan to send my child to school. However, he is high-risk due to airway narrowing. Because ofthis, I would feel comfortable knowing that he has the option of continuing learning at homewhen needed.

282 Remote learning has been I effective so far. If I feel my children will fall further behind with theplan the district goes with, I will probably look into an online school that is designed for remotelearning and has the infrastructure to support it.

311 I'm sending my kids to school 6/10/2020 9:30 AM

312 It depends on what the district decides. It will be emotionally difficult for many students to goback to school with large changes of social distancing, wearing of masks, large changes inroutine and inability to have social interactions. If the district decides to do this we may opt outbecause of the negative impact it will have. This has been very challenging for many studentsand they are mourning. Changes will most likely have to happen but if there will be little to nosocial interacting due to social distancing this will not be healthy for students. So it depends onwhat the school district decides before we can make a decision that is best for our children.

6/10/2020 9:29 AM

313 I answered no to both questions regarding masks being worn and I don’t feel that is necessaryand I also don’t want my children to wear masks. My youngest can not tolerate wearing oneand I don’t want that to be a requirement for her to attend in class instruction.

316 It's hard to say without knowing where we will be at in the fall as far as Coronavirus. If thingshave gotten worse or what they were, I would be okay with remote learning. I would prefer inperson as my daughter is special needs, but safety for staff and students comes before all else.

327 I believe a AM/PM schedule would be best. Set up like our 1/2 day Kinder. Based on a lotterydraw per FAMILY. Families put a request for either AM or PM and are scheduled based onlottery. Students attending AM will be given in person instruction and sent home withassignments for online/remote learning to complete the second half of the day. PM students willreceive PM instruction and are sent home with assignments for online/remote learning tocomplete in the morning before heading to school. Online teachers will be available via Zoomfor additional instruction as needed. Maybe 1 teacher per grade per school? I believe this wouldbe the most effective and less disruptive for families. I also believe students should have to besymptom free from fever, etc. for 48 hours before returning. Students should not be allowed inschool with snotty noses/coughing. We all know parents who give their kids medications beforeschool so they aren't missing school.

331 I don’t want to send my kids if there are going to be a ton of protocols that keep childrenseparate, masked, less activities and social interaction, etc. Although I’ve consideredhomeschool I think school is valuable for many reasons but not if it’s going to be stressful forthe kids because of overboard rules and regulations. The model of partial in-person schooldays and partial remote learning is a bit appealing in general. I really like the idea of my kidsonly going to school 2-3 days a week. Although not if there is no PE, recess, assemblies, lunchroom, etc or other measures to keep kids unnaturally separate.

8 I think if the government willingly condones the overtaking of Seattle by protesters, shoulder toshoulder, in what was recently one of the Covid 19 epicenters of the world; then our childrencan go back to school!!!

6/14/2020 11:06 AM

9 Our children need interaction w/their peers & in person learning. Kids are becoming disengaged& withdrawn.

6/13/2020 11:32 PM

10 I don’t agree with masks and a lot of the requirements being passed by the CDC. If youresearch mask wear it’s more harmful and studies have shown that. Also kids needinteractions. I will be sending my kids to school but if the requirements/ models of that of theCDC. I will pull my kids and homeschool them.

6/13/2020 11:27 PM

11 I am concerned that you’re asking students to wear masks and gloves all day which spreadsmore germs when not used properly. wearing them all day everyday without changing them ismore detrimental than reinforcing washing hands and properly cover face when coughing andsneezing.

13 Teachers need to require students to wash with soap and water multiple times throughout theday. All drinking water fountains should be eliminated and personal water bottles allowed in allclassrooms.

14 Public Schools should be ran as normal. There are enough school regulations as it is. Considerthe educators and the students not the agenda that’s trying to be pushed.

students and staff. Consider deaf and hard of hearing students. My child has her hearing back, but still does some lip reading in order to better understand people.

23 Lack of definitive information of what we're supposed to do. Our family is following the DoDTriangle: distance, mask, and frequent hand washing.

26 These kids need in-person interactions with others. They don’t need to be at home playingfortnite. We don’t allow video games in our household, but we know many that do and ourconcern is for their brain development. What will those kids be like when they are older? Onlytime will tell. And more time away from school will only make it worse in my opinion.

6/12/2020 6:43 AM

27 Concern with masks and social distancing requirements for Kinder. Kinder should be a happystart to school and learning. I am concerned that I may have an unhappy distracted learnersetting up for future issues.

6/12/2020 3:21 AM

28 I have worked with the general public the entire duration of this “pandemic” in one of thecounties most affected by it. I have had exposures and not one of my family members havebeen affected. Their is no real threat to generally healthy populations such as most of our kidsand teachers. Keep the vulnerable people home, send the rest back to school.

6/11/2020 11:51 PM

29 I disagree with mandatory masks for students and teachers. Proper cleanliness and sickprotocols (24hrs without fever etc) should be more strictly enforced and encouraged.

6/11/2020 10:19 PM

30 My biggest concern is the way they are talking about how schools are going to be opening withless time in school, having to be 6ft apart, still having to do remote learning and wearing amask. This is going to hinder the students learning! They won't be able to learn properly and beable to interact with their teachers and other students.

6/11/2020 9:51 PM

31 I would like to know how the district plans on handing students who can not wear masks due tohealth or sensory issues. Making these students learn at home is not the answer as many haveIEPs or 504s and need additional assistance in learning. Many parents, such as myself, are notqualified and do not have the resources to teach our children at home even with online learningavailable.

6/11/2020 9:36 PM

32 Public health regulations that are not appropriate for kids, and will create a management issuefor teachers.

6/11/2020 9:34 PM

33 What concerns me is the ability for the children to be able to interact with each other and havean enjoyable time. To be able to play, experiment, and develop themselves among others.

6/11/2020 9:26 PM

34 I just do not believe that there is truly any way to keep things properly disinfected at this level orto ensure distancing between kids

6/11/2020 9:20 PM

35 Other kids or staff not following the guidelines 6/11/2020 8:25 PM

36 Again people who come to your school i.e. parents family etc. who do not follow the rules ofwearing masks and handwashing etc. are a serious problem that people tend to ignore.

6/11/2020 7:50 PM

37 I'm comfortable as long as parents are responsible and don't send their children to school sick 6/11/2020 7:43 PM

38 Class sizes are huge and halls are packed. Would need masks and half the kids there 6/11/2020 7:13 PM

39 More concerned with parents sending children to school when sick. But then are we going to beparanoid for every cough, sniffle and sneeze. It’s tough and I’m supportive of SK

6/11/2020 6:56 PM

40 If masks are required , that would mean the threat of Covid still exists . And if that’s the case ,he won’t be in school .

6/11/2020 6:43 PM

41 People need to be personally responsible. 6/11/2020 6:22 PM

43 She is be forced to wear a mask and not get any physical contact from her teacher. I believethis already went through our schools last winter and the response was too late. I am fearful weare going to make our children fearful of being children. My child relies on gaging social quesfrom facial expressions and to have a teacher wear a mask is going to be very difficult for her.

48 Surge in COVID cases and the need to shut down schools again. 6/11/2020 3:04 PM

49 Remote learning has been a total disappointment. Sorry, but a 30 minute zoom meeting once aweek is not fulfilling a job as a teacher.

6/11/2020 2:28 PM

50 If there is a modified schedule with some in-person instrucntion and distance learning, PLEASEconsider the high school schedule staying w/alternating A/B weeks instead of alternating A/Bdays. Any form of distance/remote learning with alternating day is just TOO hard! My childchose to focus on all the work for a class per day.

6/11/2020 2:22 PM

51 Sick children coming to school because parents have to work. 6/11/2020 1:46 PM

52 I am concerned about the regulations being put forth by the CDC. The guidelines are notconducive to child learning, and if those guidlines are put into place I'm not sure I can send mychild to school and feel comfortable that it is his best learning environment. Although I wouldstill greatly appreciate district support to help him learn at home. I'm not prepared to go fullhomeschool.

6/11/2020 1:19 PM

53 I have NO CONCERNS and hope for normal classroom instruction soon. On-line learning is notworking for us.

6/11/2020 12:42 PM

54 All remote option will not work for my family. We both are essential employees and are having ahard enough time as it is right now. Also, I’d be willing to entertain the idea of year roundschool.

6/11/2020 12:35 PM

55 I don’t have a concern 6/11/2020 12:33 PM

56 If a student or teacher is sick, they stay home. The rest of the world needs to continue with life.I don’t agree with the health department. My family will never get the Covid vaccine! Neverever! Thank you.

6/11/2020 12:12 PM

57 Kids need to be in classroom setting. If a child is sick send home . If it make people feel bettertake their temps everyday .

6/11/2020 12:05 PM

58 None, I trust the school will make the necessary adjustments 6/11/2020 11:46 AM

59 I am concerned that my child will suffer for lack of normal interactions with other human beings. 6/11/2020 11:13 AM

60 Younger kids' hygiene habits are questionable 6/11/2020 11:06 AM

61 More worried about hate and judgment of others than the epidemic itself. 6/11/2020 9:56 AM

62 If we have physical school and online learning, I am concerned that my younger child would berequired to do online learning on days that my older child is at school. Both my husband and Iwork in the district and would be working everyday. How are teachers and other districtemployees going to ensure and enforce that students social distance? Will there be contractsthat students/parents sign and consequences given? If schools are preparing for socialdistancing, it doesn't make sense to do sports?? What is the plan for still allowing students toparticipate in athletic events/activities?

6/11/2020 9:56 AM

63 As stated above - Cleanliness needs to be addressed. I see we still have not hired any furtherjanitorial staff for the district. Seems more should be hired and trained PRIOR to start of newschool year. Students SHOULD NOT be cleaning the tables....

6/11/2020 9:50 AM

64 Honestly, I'm torn between wanting people to wear masks and wanting kids to get to be as"normal" as possible for their emotional well-being.

68 CSE being taught. 6/11/2020 8:50 AM

69 Kids are disgusting and share germs like crazy. More washing of hands and sanitizing, distanceaway from each other, alternated days, just something. My kids brought home 2 different flutypes in the 2019-2020 school year, and I don’t want a repeat of that with covid.

6/11/2020 8:41 AM

70 My high school student has compromised lungs and heart disease, this puts him at asignificantly increased risk of death if he were to contract COVID 19.

6/11/2020 8:05 AM

71 Thoughts on the matter. Could a rotating AB schedule for the students work to keep thecapacity at half each day? And the utilization of July and August to begin classes, since thevirus is expected to return in September.

6/11/2020 7:45 AM

72 Kids need to learn at school, home school is Not for everyone. Let teachers teach. Thank you. 6/11/2020 7:28 AM

73 School is meant to be a warm welcoming place for children to learn and grow, not to besecluded from others, stuck in one classroom all day, denied recess and extracurricularactivities. The proposed changes to the classrooms is a childhood version of office life, and Irefuse to mold my children into drones for the working class.

6/11/2020 7:28 AM

74 I have no concerns. I believe in person education is essential for both learning and mentalhealth, socialization.

6/11/2020 6:46 AM

75 Child appears to be doing better via remote learning but understand she wishes to go back. 6/11/2020 6:44 AM

76 I will not have my children wear masks and over use of hand sanitizer causes my children’shands to bleed.

6/11/2020 6:20 AM

77 Kids being overwhelmed /falling behind if they miss days due to being conservative andkeeping them home if there is any sign of possible illness. In the past my kids have poweredthrough being sick and going to school because it’s too overwhelming to miss and teachersdon’t provide grace for makeup.

6/11/2020 6:10 AM

78 SKHS is too crowded. You have too many kids in one space. You need to sort that out withalternating time on campus versus at home and priority to things on campus that canMr beremote like wood shop and auto shop.

6/11/2020 6:10 AM

79 I am concerned that you’re asking students to wear masks and gloves all day which spreadsmore germs when not used properly. wearing them all day everyday without changing them ismore detrimental than reinforcing washing hands and properly cover face when coughing andsneezing.

81 No concerns except maybe the smoke smell from Marcus being vandalized/burned 6/10/2020 11:41 PM

82 How could passing periods and meals be made to be safe for the middle schoolers? The hallsare so crowded and the classrooms aren't particularly spacious. It would seem that maintainingsafe distances for all students to be on full days would approach impossible. A hybrid model, perhaps with A/B or A/B/C days seems more viable.

6/10/2020 10:36 PM

83 My son needs personal interaction and friends. I just don't know how effective social distancingwill be at school, especially if the numbers go back up. I see plenty of people in our communitywho choose not to take this seriously.

6/10/2020 10:24 PM

84 If the kids do not go to school like normal, they will be going to daycare with other kids. Sowhat’s the difference in being in school all day or daycare? Plus the kids in daycare, how arethey going to do their online work? After parents pick them up? 7 or 8pm?? Just doesn’t seemlike that’s what’s best for kids.

87 We don’t have concerns about our student returning to school 6/10/2020 8:49 PM

88 Most of my son’s IEP goals have social aspects to them in preparation for employment afterhigh school. I don’t know how the pandemic is going to affect what he remembers as his“normal schedule.”

6/10/2020 8:43 PM

89 Parents sending their kids to school when they are sick. Kids in general have bad hygiene (ex.rubbing runny noses with hands and then touching everything, coughing and sneezing withoutcovering their mouths, not washing hands before lunch) and kids pass germs a ton.

6/10/2020 8:42 PM

90 Overall health and safety - this pandemic is not over, despite much of the public going out andenjoying activities (restaurants, riots), it will most certainly get worse again before it gets better,as few people are following safety guidelines.

6/10/2020 8:38 PM

91 Very concerned about how my special needs child will adjust to the changes in environment(new rules like social distancing or having to wear a mask) and also adjusting to being backafter being home for so long.

6/10/2020 8:25 PM

92 Any children or staff going to school sick 6/10/2020 8:19 PM

93 I do not want my kids or their teachers to be forced to wear facemasks all day. It's impersonaland uncomfortable. Kids and teachers should be able to stay home when sick, guilt free...itshould not be so nearly impossible for the students to catch up when they miss school for beingsick...I am sure I'm not the only parent who gives their kids Tylenol and sends them to schoolsick, because they get a guilt trip over being absent, and it's nearly impossible to catch up onmissed assignments....especially now that there is not a Homeroom period.

6/10/2020 8:07 PM

94 I don’t want to have my kids in school with worrying about the virus at school or masks oranything.

6/10/2020 8:00 PM

95 My child graduated this year, but if I still had children at any level I would be comfortablesending them to school.

6/10/2020 7:55 PM

96 How will my child recieve speech therapy if they have to wear a mask or be 6 feet apart. Imalready very disappointed in the district for failing to support my sons IEP the last 3 months. Mychild is hard enough to understand on a regular basis let alone stuck in a mask where you can'tsee his mouth.

6/10/2020 7:39 PM

98 no concerns 6/10/2020 7:30 PM

99 The above step will help with maintaining overall wellness for everyone. 6/10/2020 7:00 PM

100 I am more concerned about how personal relationships will continue. My student is veryrelationship based and if he does not trust staff members, then he will not be successful. Withgoing to middle school for the first time, this concerns me.

6/10/2020 6:51 PM

101 None. 6/10/2020 6:32 PM

102 I would like our children and others to be safe. But I also feel isolation from germs and over-sanitizing, etc. can be more harmful than good. I want the appropriate precautions (hand-washing, covering cough, etc.) to be followed as usual. But with a greater emphasis for all. Idon't think using hand-sanitzer should replace hand-washing. As long as there is the ability tolet parents know if someone has the virus/they have been exposed, then I feel comfortablesending them to school.

6/10/2020 6:27 PM

103 No concerns 6/10/2020 6:24 PM

104 Kids being sent to school even when they r I'll because parents dont keep them home 6/10/2020 6:12 PM

105 I am not concerned with my son returning at all. I believe in herd immunity and the more peopleexposed the less chance it continuing on forever.

6/10/2020 6:05 PM

106 Kids are already afraid of COVID as it is. If they are made to wear masks (effectiveness if suchis dubious; note how the WHO and the CDC, Dr. Fauci, etc. go back and forth from one belief tothe other regarding masks), made to social distance, made to wash hands constantly andsanitize everything, we are creating an environment of fear and anxiety in the classroom andinstilling the same into children. Masks also increase CO2 inhalation causing headaches and

dizziness. Children are not generally endangered by this virus; why should they be taught so?Our elderly are at increased risk for infection by a multitude of viruses and bactieria and prionsof all kinds; the death rate of COVID-19 is less than 0.3% according to the CDC's data. This iscomparable to the flu. Should we be wearing masks and social distancing for forevermorebecause of something that is as deadly as the flu? Reports are also coming out thattransmission of the disease is abysmally rare in those who arw asymptomatic. Let the schoolsopen and operate normally as they did before this crisis and let those who have symptoms stayhome from school, as they should with any other communicable disease. Exposure to this virusand the acquired immunity is what is best and has been best for all of human history regardingviral contagions.

107 I worry that the changes that will be implemented will take a huge social emotional toll on ourchildren. Children are not meant to be cordoned off in a 6 ft box like they are in a prison. It willbe like going to school in a ICU all masked up. I also worry about the loss of extracurricularactivities that allow additional types of development like music and team sports. Communityevents like the PTA puts on as well.

6/10/2020 5:30 PM

108 No concern 6/10/2020 5:21 PM

109 I won't have my child sit in a plastic bubble all day while wearing a damn mask. School will notbe the same.

6/10/2020 5:15 PM

111 I am high risk, so I'll be concerned no matter what. Just use good sense, and we'll get throughthis.

6/10/2020 5:11 PM

112 I’m concerned the rules will be too strict for socialization and my children won’t get a normalschool experience. Socialization is also important in a child’s development.

117 I am worried about small children K-3 having to be required to wear masks. I don't think it is aviable solution for children so small.

6/10/2020 3:57 PM

118 I do not want them to live in fear. I want them to have a normal experience in going back toschool. I want them to be able to play with their classmates, enjoy lunch like they use too andenjoy their teachers.

6/10/2020 3:56 PM

119 I am a working single parent of elementary aged students. I would like my children to go toschool full time in the most loving and inclusive way. It concerns me to think of a school systemwhere there is no touching or close experiences. Recess, sharing supplies, lunch, etc - theyshould all be as they always have been!

122 My husband is in the at risk category, he has asthma, diabetes, and hypertension. I am VERYconcerned the children will catch the COVID virus at school and bring it home. I have a 1stgrader, 4th grader, and 6th grader next year. I do not feel that the 1st and 4th graders will becapable of adhering to safe practices at school, AND I don't want to put any more stress ontheir teachers who are going to be policing these practices. I hate distance learning for sure, and I want my kids to go back to school very badly, but not until it is safe for them to do so.

6/10/2020 3:24 PM

127 The school is overcrowded already. My concerns are with those people in my community whoNEED to attend the school's physical building. Now that I am in a position to home-school myown children, I would rather take the strain off the establishment who need the school's in-facility services. I am concerned with them not keeping up with the requirements of our district,so I would prefer some form of hybrid access, check ins with the teachers/counselor to confirmwe are on the right tract. However, I am capable of maintaining a solid education for my ownchildren in lieu of these services.

130 Surge in COVID cases and the need to shut down schools again. 6/10/2020 2:25 PM

131 These kids NEED to go back to school. For their emotional well-being. We can't keep themisolated from everyone, they need their friends and social interaction. They need to actually beable to learn while doing school...They aren't learning what they should be or as they should bedoing this remote learning - it's not consistent & not actually teaching them anything of value.

6/10/2020 2:16 PM

6/10/2020 1:26 PM

If there is not adequate but safeinteraction between staff and students, and between students themselves, we may as well justcontinue complete remote learning.

6/10/2020 1:25 PM

147 So many uncertainties as to what things will be like by the time school starts. 6/10/2020 1:18 PM

148 I do not want to send my child back to school if they are going to be required to wear masks orpractice social distancing. I feel it should look as normal as possible.

6/10/2020 1:17 PM

151 Parents sending their child to school feeling ill and staff attending work feeling ill. As a culturewe do not show respect and love by staying home if we feel ill or keeping our child home if theydo not feel well. I understand that parents need money to provide for their families andsometimes it is easier to work through the illness. However, we risk the spread of the illness. Imight have changed my mind on question 3. Symptom checks would be ideal. I still feeldisrespected and not loved when an ill child is sent to school or my child's teacher is workingwhen sick. 6/10/2020 12:11 PM

164 My primary concern is my student not being able to be a kid. Being able to play at recess, havelunch in the cafeteria, being able to go to PE and music are part of the best parts of being inpublic education. He’s going into second grade. I don’t want him to feel like he’s in a sanitizedbox.

6/10/2020 12:05 PM

165 It’s important to balance the risks. In my opinion, the long term risks to students posed bydistance learning are far higher than those posed by COVID-19. The students need to back inschool, in person. For a lot of reasons. I would be happy to elaborate if there is an opportunity.

6/10/2020 12:04 PM

166 I am not concerned 6/10/2020 11:58 AM

167 I think this is ridiculous and beyond over the top. Send the kids back to school! 6/10/2020 11:58 AM

168 It concerns me that students will be subjected to such drastic changes in their learningenvironment. I do not think it is reasonable to expect children to wear masks all day or eat lunchin their classrooms. Children are hands on learners who need interaction and socialization. Weknow this about education. Do what’s right for the kids. Open schools completely.

178 I don’t want to be part of the experiment to see what works. I have found distance learning to bevery successful for my family so it’s just easier for us to start up with a routine in the fall that weknow will work for us. We have the flexibility to be part of the solution to decrease class sizesand occupancy loads. I’m not so much afraid of my child getting sick as I am afraid of anothershutdown or him getting singled out because he always sounds like he has a cold due toallergies. I found distance learning to be engaging and I love being part of my child’s education.

6/10/2020 11:29 AM

179 All parents and relatives are high risk. Worried about resurgence in fall. 6/10/2020 11:29 AM

180 We don't want to yo-yo back and forth between school being opened and closed. Thosetransitions are stressful. If we just opt to homeschool, then there will be much less uncertaintyeven though my son would love to be back with people.

6/10/2020 11:23 AM

181 I'm nervous about all of it, but I trust whatever decisions will be made. I know the school lovestheir students too!!

6/10/2020 11:21 AM

182 Kids will not be honest about symptoms, class sizes are WAY to large.... 6/10/2020 11:20 AM

183 If the kids do not go to school like normal, they will be going to daycare with other kids. Sowhat’s the difference in being in school all day or daycare? Plus the kids in daycare, how arethey going to do their online work? After parents pick them up? 7 or 8pm?? Just doesn’t seemlike that’s what’s best for kids.

6/10/2020 11:19 AM

184 I think too many precautions will keep children away from each other and what makes schoolenjoyable

6/10/2020 11:19 AM

185 No concerns 6/10/2020 11:16 AM

186 My primary concern is that since everyone has been separated for so long, their immunesystems are no longer acclimated to other students. Our immune systems work based onexposure and so this isolation has only weakened us. Once the students come back togetherthere will be all sorts of other 'sickness' going around which they in turn will bring home.

6/10/2020 11:14 AM

187 The schools need extra funding and more staff to deal with the pandemic. We cant expect theteachers to do everything. Not only be teachers, but now are we really going to ask them to bemedical staff as well? Masks, disinfectants, the risk to them and students. Will the teachersreceive hazard pay? and what happens if a teacher gets sick? Our federal response is basicallytheir not responding to it at all. We would have to do year round school, certain grades forcertain days to spread out the students in classrooms for distance, and extra staff checkingtemps multiple times a day. More funding for supplies, extra pay for teachers, and mandatoryrules for masks and sanitation for the "less educated" that think this is just going to go away. You cant have all students show up all at once every day, the infection rates will be insane.

6/10/2020 11:13 AM

188 I want my children back to school in the public school setting. My concern is this not happening. 6/10/2020 11:13 AM

6/10/2020 11:11 AM

190 Unrealistic for kids to wear masks all day but necessary 6/10/2020 11:10 AM

191 I feel the fall will bring an increase in COVID19 on top of the flu season also beginning to start. 6/10/2020 11:09 AM

192 My son getting sick places at risk family members in danger. I can see using buildings forelementary students who need to be in person and spread kids out. I worry about at risk kids, families and teachers being exposed and what they need. If the risks continues i am willing tohelp teachers with facilitating online schooling or keeping my child at home to create morespace for elementary or high school juniors and seniors who may need to be in person.

6/10/2020 11:06 AM

193 Either teach the kids or give us a refund on our taxes so we can afford private school. 6/10/2020 11:04 AM

194 If the schools do not open up full time, I have concerns with childcare. Not only the cost but alsothe quality of learning that would take place in a daycare setting. my husband and I both workfull time and are unable to facilitate remote learning. It would be devastating to us if our childcould not receive full time in person learning.

196 Fresh air is big factor! The less our kids sit in the same infected air streams, the less likely it willbe transmitted. 199 Requiring masks and kids not getting to interact with each other 6/10/2020 10:56 AM

200 Kids aren't going to practice social distancing. They're not going to be extra hygenic. 6/10/2020 10:56 AM

201 I disagree with treating children like they are dirty, germy, dangerous beings, and that they can'tget close to anyone. Extra handwashing is fine, but the rest of it is ridiculous and I won't subjectmy kids to it.

6/10/2020 10:55 AM

202 I don’t think kids can follow social distancing. Teachers can wear their masks but students willnot be able to do that for the whole day. Who will enforce this to hundreds of students ?It will bea stressful time for them because then they will reprimanded/ scold.Learning sometimes arehard for some and then you add this additional things. And I do not believe that they will bewashing their hands often too. Disinfecting the whole school will put additional burden to theteachers. They won’t be able to focus on helping their students( already stressful by itself).Online learning works for kids who had access to computers and internet. Provide help to familywith no computer and Internet. If we open school and one of them will get a positive with Covid-19, what will be the schools response? Not only did you expose a lot if students but also theirfamily. The ramifications are exponential. Zoom meetings have been helpful and encouraging tostudents. Or they can have zoom tutorials if they need it and share it to all their students. Thisare my opinions as of now.

6/10/2020 10:52 AM

205 My students ability to self manage online learning and a very varied education model. 6/10/2020 10:48 AM

206 I feel like other parents will not take all these precautions because they don't believe in themwhich makes us parents who have being protecting our kids all these months pointless. Thatswhy the staff need to have strict guidelines for patents and students before the kids and parentsenter the building everyday.

6/10/2020 10:48 AM

207 I feel like student gathering places should be disinfected and cleaned daily, regardless of illness 6/10/2020 10:48 AM

208 I am concerned that if the virus has a strong come back in the fall, that we will be in the sameposition again, mandatory stay home order, quick online school programs and adjustmentperiods. If we go back at 100% full time normal classroom numbers and full day schedules, etc,it could put us right back in the position we were in March when the teachers and students werethrown into a new way of learning in a crisis setting. I would rather have a planned virtualprogram that is carefully set up and prepared, than push face to face too soon. My kids misstheir grandparents so much and we are just about able to visit them again. So I want to besmart in the fall to allow for us to see them regularly again. Initially, I was preparing to homeschool all three of my kids again in the fall, but in the last week I realized that they deeply missthe interaction with teachers, friends and peers. At breakfast this morning, my son was telling astory about the first time he met his best friend in Kindergarten. I would really like to see ahybrid model where our students are able to attend part time in person, instead of full days(especially for Kindergartners- who might be less likely to follow hand sanitizing and wearingmasks all day). I know the district is tasked with a very challenging situation, so I want to alsoadd that if you allowed for an option to "opt for Home School with provided the curriculum" andit would help the numbers for social distancing, our family could do that. I know their are manyfamilies in difficult situations who rely heavily on the district for services and need students toattend regularly, so if it helps that some of us step aside to help other families, we would bewilling to do that. I actually already contact SK's explorer program , but I will hold off onenrollment, until the district determines the Fall 2020 plan. I want to thank SK school district fortheir awesome effort, time and care. I am thankful for our awesome teachers, schools andleadership in this district. I want to share that given the difficult situation I felt that it went assmooth as I could have imagined.

210 I will not send my kids to school if they are expected to wear a mask. 6/10/2020 10:44 AM

211 We have 3 children. One will be starting kindergarten this year. Both my spouse and I haveworked full time because we were considered essential. There is no way for us to continue theway that it is currently going. We cannot leave small children at home without supervision to doschool work. I made a choice to send my children to school instead of home schooling them – Idid not sign up to be a teacher -that was not my career path. My kids need to be in school toreceive a proper education at this age. I do not believe that is happening under the FAPE law.In my opinion, only high school students are at the age they “might” be able to stay on trackwith their education with limited oversight. It is in my opinion, and you can obtain the data tosupports it according to the WA State website among others, children do not seem to beeffected by this virus and only people over 65 need to quarantine. Schools are unaffected or isthere data to support the opposite? Open schools in the fall as you normally would.

214 I think school should resume as normal as before they closed the schools. 6/10/2020 10:40 AM

215 I’m concerned if our children are forced to wear masks and social distance that it will not be apositive learning environment bc so much of the school experience is social.

219 I don’t want my child to wear a mask or do social distancing. I want my child to have a normalschool experience not this “new” normal

6/10/2020 10:34 AM

220 I am concerned about other families child care options. I have always felt people should stayhome and keep their kids home several days when they are sick. Many of the dual workingparents won’t do that because one of the parents has to take time off work to stay home. Myfamily is prepared as one of the adults is able to stay home at all times if someone is sick. It isfrustrating that a lot of families use the school system as a babysitting mechanism and they donot have contingencies in place. I am afraid people will continue to send sick kids to school andthe school will allow sick kids to remain. I have been in my child’s classroom when several kidswere coughing with Bronchitis-type coughs. NOBODY sent them home then! I even asked theteacher and she said ‘without a fever’ the kids could stay. Geez! I hope this attitude changesand people take communicable illness more seriously. I appreciate that the district is sendingout this survey and I am hopeful things are changing.

234 People that think everyone should be covered or wearing masks and forcing people to do thatis against our rights and freedoms as people of America! If they or anyone is that scared, thenthey should stay home! Let the rest of us return to normal this is unfair and discriminatory! Whatabout the deaf people that can not speak sign language??? What then they supposed to readmasked lips?? What about those that are afraid of people in masks, they just supposed tonever return to the outside?? I guess, but that is ok, but those scared of getting a virus are ableto tell others to wear a mask? Fuck let us sign a waiver this is damn stupid!!!!

235 SKHS is a large school, however not large enough (during a pandemic) for the volume ofstudents attending. Consider 50/50 attendance alternating days and weeks like alreadyestablished A/B days. The balance can remain as online learning if this is still a thing in 2.5months.

6/10/2020 10:23 AM

6/10/2020 10:22 AM

239 My child's school is severely overcrowded 6/10/2020 10:21 AM

240 My concerns are that children will be socially isolated if made to use "social distancing" in theschool settings. I want them to be able to play at the playground (mask free), eat lunch withtheir peers in a cafeteria setting (not alone at a desk in the classroom), I don't want my kids tobe set up with physical barriers for learning. I do not want my children, especially mykindergartener, to wear a mask. It is NOT healthy for anyone to wear a mask for that long. I doNOT support ANY online learning. Period. I don't understand how a first time kindergartner willget the instruction needed online. And with having 2 high schoolers this year, I have learnedthat neither of them are the kind of kids that thrive from online or distance learning. One was asenior, but the other is going to be a sophomore. My sophomore has expressed the desire toactually be IN school and has said that the online learning is a waste of time, and I agree. Ihave seen the zoom calls and tried to help with the math....Khan Academy can only do somuch. Sorry, but with online learning, a quality education is not happening. So, in the fall, Iwould like my 2 children to be in school, as it was before, since the "science" has turned out tosupport that this is all for nothing. With both parents working out of the house, there is no timeto actually educate my children....that is why, after all, I pay a HEFTY school tax....so that mychildren can receive a quality education without me having to be the teacher. I can not afford toquit my job to homeschool or distance learn my children, nor can I hire someone else to do that(did that through my school taxes already).

249 As a working parent/active duty spouse, I can’t support distance learning and work. My child, who has special learning requirements with an IEP, needs the in person support she receives atthe school from the staff.

6/10/2020 10:13 AM

250 I feel there will be parents and guardians that will send their children to school even when theyare sick. I have seen it already too many times!

6/10/2020 10:13 AM

251 My main concerns are that their days are going to be disrupted in someway with limited socialinteractions with peers . I believe school needs to just resume as before and if parents are notcomfortable digital learning can be provided. Those students and parents who are notconcerned should just return as usual.

6/10/2020 10:12 AM

252 No concerns we need to get kids back in the classrooms 6/10/2020 10:11 AM

262 I feel like health officials have given so much conflicting info (wearing masks doesn't help tonow requiring masks) that I could never trust them fully when it comes to my child's well being. Ibelieve the only reason Kitsap hasn't been hit real hard is because the choice to close schoolswas made so quickly by the superintendent.

263 General risk of them bringing the coronavirus home, not particularly of the risk to them 6/10/2020 10:01 AM

264 If school is not full time, it will be a financial hardship on families to pay for childcare for theirkids who would typically be in school. Also, the number of families needing childcare willexhaust what is available.

6/10/2020 9:59 AM

265 My only concern is the chance that they might have to do online learning. Some children do notlearn well that way and they fall behind. Also parents work and cannot afford daycare and canthelp their children with online learning.

6/10/2020 9:58 AM

266 As long as appropriate guidelines are followed, I don't have any concerns. 6/10/2020 9:56 AM

267 I’m concerned about asking primary age students to social distance and wear masks. I thinkthis will cause more harm and I’d rather risk contracting Covid than asking/making kids feeluncomfortable or isolated. I’m concerned about my child being made to stay with the samegroup of children/staff at all times.

aren't worried about yourself or loved ones. Sending the children of people who thing this issome kind of conspiracy or that it's being over blown or that its somehow political will onlyendangered the rest of the kids. Because I hear my daughter's friends repeat back what isclearly their parents ideas so often my concern is even if schools require masks, ppp and socialdistancing, how will you get them to comply? Teachers will become ppp monitors not educators. This is a really tough situation for everyone but until masks are made mandatory for everyonein public spaces punishable by a fine so that there are consequences for everyone, I don't seehow things can get back to a new normal. People were against wearing seatbelts in the 80'suntil the federal government threatened to take away federal funding for highways, then allstates complied. Now, 95% of people wouldn't feel safe without a seat belt. People can changebut it needs to be required with consequences.

I say this notdue to any fault of the school or district guidelines, but simply due to the fact that all thesechanges that must be enforced for safety will to her, feel scary.

311 I know how full each of my children's classrooms were. There is just no way to safely have allthe students back together all at the same time without sharing tons of germs and then passingthem on. This time we've spent at home is seriously the longest span of time my family hasgone without any of us being sick with something. When the kids are in school, we are sickconstantly. I just don't see how even disinfecting daily and making kids wear masks--which I'mtelling you would be a complete nightmare for kids--especially my youngest who can't standthem-would make enough of a difference that I felt safe sending them. I'd much rather continuewith distance learning so we are all safe.

Currently multiple states areseeing increased CoVid19 numbers, and no one is sure of what it will be like in September.Best solution a vaccine available, if not PPE for all, social distancing, testing available for all, contact tracing, disinfecting multiple times a day. I know my child will have a difficult timewearing a mask for a full day of school and lots of kids will have a hard time practicing socialdistancing, They have learned a lot about the virus, and they will probably learn more over the

323 My daughter and myself are high risk with seriously diminished lung function for both of us. Ihave 40% lung function and she has 60%. So even though her younger sister is fine no one inour per her doctor will be going anywhere this fall. In answering the questions. All protocolsincluding masks will make feel better about less community spread but nothing short of a greattreatment and vaccine will make myself or her doctor feel comfortable about on campusclasses. We are very much reliant on a distance learning only option. That’s not to say that itcouldn’t be distance learning/ on campus for some but there needs to be a distance learningonly option within that model to accommodate high risk students.

6/10/2020 9:38 AM

324 My child’s sensory and anxiety needs if masks, etc are required. 6/10/2020 9:38 AM

325 I know budget is tight, but creating smaller student classes, and increasing the number of gradeclasses. For instance 3 K classes instead of 2. Taking turns for recess. One classroom at atime. Education, have RNs from the Kitsap DOH come for a day to teach kids the importance ofwashing their hands, sneezing etiquette, why we check temps,(do it properly if kids wear a hat.Have them remove it for 10 min so we know. The true temp) Ok to check kids for fever, but dontask them "if they feel sick ". Most kids will say yes to get out of class.Prevention is a primaryintervention that helps greatly reduce the community issues. Maybe have the kitsap DOH.Contact the parents to explain why and how some interventions will be done. (Mail, email, phone with interpreters for foreigners etc)

6/10/2020 9:38 AM

326 I am not concerned at all to send my children to school. However, if we have social distancing,a hybrid model, or all online learning. MANY families will be crippled with daycare expenses orwill just leave children at home.

357 It's difficult to articulate. My daughter NEEDS to be back in school to learn, to thrive, to gethealthy and move around, really it is needed for everyone's mental health. Balancing that truthwith the very real threat of covid19 - getting this sickness would be scary. Whether it is her, someone she knows, or just someone who is at her school, it would be emotionally devastatingto her. The threat is real. Yet, I am a full time employed parent, and we have no home schoolsolution. The TV and videos games are our current babysitter outside of the self-driven dailyschool work on the chromebook as I attempt to maintain value to my employer from mybedroom office. My daughter's father died when she was 4 so she is particularly sensitive tosickness and death topics. I think going back to school where kids are required to wear masksis going to be a failure. I can't even stand to wear masks for very long yet I understand why it isneeded. I don't think that will be an enforceable choice for children, all-day every day. Teachersconvey much of what they teach through body language and facial enthusiasm. Requiring themto wear masks would also stifle the learning experience. I wish there was a good answer.

6/10/2020 9:29 AM

358 I will not send my child to school wearing a mask or having no recess. School is supposed to befun for these children it is not a prison. I will not send my childTen to school if they feel fear.

MY children have goals and if this schooldistrict is going to cater to promotion of mainstream hysteria, we will pull them completely andcontinue to homeschool them. This “pandemic” is a joke, science has proven that. As educatorsyou should realize that and fight for the right to properly educate the students, not be a pawn inthe societal b.s.

I fear that this is just the beginning and every flu or stomach bug will closethings down and that puts a very big hardship on many families who need to work and nowhave to also juggle school at home and/or childcare. I fear we are moving backwards ineducational progress at closing the gaps that low income and minority students are oftenfacing.
