You can't change the wOl'ds in Mbasic but it is EASY to change the words' in BH Bas ic to Match the cOMpetition. Using DUMP you find the BH words in the 20th and 21st record (Note: I not sure what George Means by record and believe BH basic can be anywhere on your DISK, he is referring to the distribution disk I think? ED) frOM the start. The byte just before each word controls what action Basic takes so don't change those bytes. Always work on a spare disk in case things get a bit Messed up. It took Me two tries before I ~ot the ~ords just the way I wanted theM (the first try bOMbed beautifully when I ran it and HDDS was DESTROYED too). I Changed the following Uords: Build , Bye, Old, and Scratch. They becaMe Auto, SysteM, Load, and New. Since the new words are one letter less than the old (Total letters. ED) I also changed Cntrl to Control to fill the extra space. The word is used so seldOM in prograMs that a few typed strokes will fix any failing prograM.
