Situation after the
project activities
Her total family
income was
round 10,000
in a month,
which was
dependent on
availability of
work for her
husband. In
slack season,
they do not
have enough
money to meet
their expenses, as there was less work available in market. Pato herself also
work in agriculture farms in cotton picking and wheat harvesting seasons.
In NRSP PPI survey’s ranking, Pato’s household got score of 14 falling in
poorest criteria. Here household appraisal was done and based on set
criteria she was provided with one cow and 5 poultry birds. She was then
provided livestock management training to be able take care of animals in
an improved way. She followed training information and served her cow
with good food and hygiene at her home. The cow got pregnant and
delivered the first offspring in January 2017. The children are really excited
and welcome the baby cow warmly. They take good care of cow and her
baby. The family of Pato is now getting 3-4 litre of milk twice a day. The
milk is available for children and she use to sell 2 litre of milk to neighbours.
Patos children have now regular access to milk, and her assets have also
got increased due to cow and the offspring. She would continue to take
care of the animals.
