INTRODUCTION

Quatran Services Ltd is a Ghanaian-owned, multi-disciplinary consulting

architectural, engineering and construction firm which has been active

throughout Ghana from the Southern through the Middle Sector to the

Northern Sector of Ghana since 2015. Currently the company has staff

representation in Accra, Tamale and Kumasi.

Quatran is proud of its reputation as a highly motivated, dynamic and

innovative construction engineering firm with a passion for quality and

putting its clients’ needs at the centre of the engineering solutions it

offers.

Over the years, we have helped our clients achieve their dreams of

commercial and process structures. With architects of over decades of professional practice in building style, safety

planning and design. Our seasoned Architects are responsible for creating a design concept that both meets the

Civil Engineering Design & General Construction

Quatran Limited is highly specialized in civil infrastructure planning, design and implementation. Our engineers

work hand-in-hand with other key professionals in the built environment. Quatran has the technical know-how in

delivering;


1. Geotechnical Investigations, Designs and Construction:

Quatran conduct surface, subsurface and deep earth investigation to understand the behavior of soils and

rocks, underground water, site and structural conditions, in relation to a construction project.

Geotechnical investigation in relation to civil engineering projects is undertaken by our Geotechnical Engineers to

provide an understanding of the conditions already present in the soil, the impacts the project will have on these

conditions and how these impacts can be mitigated to provide stability, safety and economy. In most of our previous


projects, our Engineers are involved in foundation designs and analysis of shallow and deep foundation, soil

characterization, geophysical assessment, seismic design of earth retaining structures, computer programing of soil

characteristics simulation, analysis of material for road and airport pavement, testing and hand on construction and

supervision of Geotechnical structures in accordance to the most reputable professional codes of practice.

2. Structural Analysis, Design and Construction:

Our Structural engineers have adequate theoretical and practical knowledge to design and manage the physical

integrity of buildings, tunnels, bridges, towers and hydraulic structures. Quatran has a proven record of

professionalism in structural design optimization where safety and durability are not sacrificed for cost. Our

architects and Engineers focus on the quality of workmanship, appearance, shape, size and use of specialized

programs and algorithms to enhance structural and architectural performance. The use of computer application to

fully understand the behavior of building under several loads and stresses resulting from the construction and use is

one key parameter that ensure that we always ahead and deliver the best service in time.

3. Hydraulic & Drainage Design and Construction:

Our hydraulic engineers are responsible for the application of appropriate procedures and prosecution of the

necessary and more difficult hydrologic and hydraulic studies and analyses for use in the preparation of hydraulic

design portions of Survey Reports, Design Memoranda, and both preliminary and final detailed design for navigation,

water distribution systems, flood control systems, and multi-purpose dams; flood-control channels and local

protection projects.

We use a wide range of professional engineering concepts, principles and practices to achieve these objectives.

This relevant knowledge of our team is applied the design of hydraulic structures, such as sewage conduits, dams

and breakwaters, the management of waterways, such as erosion protection and flood protection, and environmental

management, such as prediction of the mixing and transport of pollutants in surface water. Hydroelectric-power

development, water supply, irrigation and navigation are some familiar projects our Engineers worked on.


4. Highway Engineering and Pavement Design:

Our transportation engineers are responsible to plan, design, build, operate and maintain these systems of transport,

in such a way as to provide for the safe, efficient and convenient movement of people and goods.

Quatran has the relevant knowledge in geometric design, route selection, location testing and investigation,

environmental impact assessment, cost benefit analysis, quality control and quality assurance of works, road safety

audit, and preparation of detailed working drawings for implementation of designs.

5. Waste Management Process Design and Construction

Quatran engineers work towards solutions for safe, effective waste management through the implementation of

specialist recycling and processing strategies. We have over the past few years design and supervise the construction

of some the most sophisticated Waste treatment plants in the Country. We designed components of the Kumasi

Compost and Recycling Plant, Accra Compost and Recycling Plant and provided technical guidance in the repair of

the Akuse Oxidation Pond.


Electrical Engineering Design & Installation

The major task of our electrical engineers are to design high voltage equipment such as wiring systems, lighting

systems, and generators. Within the construction industry, our electrical engineers have extensively survey the site

and manage the design and construction of electrical systems so that they comply with the necessary codes.

Quatran electrical engineers have many responsibilities on construction site, including designing, testing, installing

and maintaining large-scale electrical systems that transmit and generate power.

When designing projects, our electrical engineers typically have the needed technical-know-how and skills to work

with computer models for circuit simulation, power demand forecast, detection of power leakages, power loss

computation etc. all aimed at understanding what best they should design.


In addition, our electrical engineers are responsible for calculating the costs of projects and scheduling delivery dates

for supplies. Finally, at the end of a project, our electrical engineers are also responsible for making sure that all

codes are met. This is done thorough knowledge of building codes and their applications, and the electrical engineers

provide technical support to our clients and teach them how to detect electrical building construction issues.

On most of our projects, our Electrical Engineers carried out the following;

Detail engineering with a safety factor in the design.

Basic & detail engineering for provision of earthling pits of electrical installation.

Design for illumination of different area and lux calculation.

Cable size calculation, cable scheduling and its route selection, overhead or underground.

Proper protection system for all electrical installation.

Design for firefighting and detection system.

Generally responsible for implementations and monitoring of all electrical related works at the site.

Prepare estimates and assign the resources such as manpower, materials, consumables, equipment, tools, etc.,

required for all electrical and related works prior to execution.

Plan and analyse all possible construction methodologies and recommends the best options to the Asst. Project

Manager for approval prior to execution at site.

Interprets construction drawings and studies the contract documents and applicable standards or specifications

prior to the execution of any jobs.


6. Mechanical Engineering Design & Construction.

Quatran has a vibrant mechanical engineers who are responsible for designing, building, installing and maintaining

all kinds of mechanical machinery, tool and components. Construction of mechanical systems is one of area in which

we have worked in the area of the power, medical or manufacturing industries.

We work on large or small-scale projects, and become involved in research and development, design or production.

We do:

Mechanical design layout and specification.

Design for ventilation air conditioning systems.

Design for external and internal gas and oil distribution systems.

Design for domestic and commercial hot water services distribution and plant layouts.

Design for sewerage systems.

Installation of all mechanical systems.

Preparation itemized bills of Quantities.

Supervision of Instillation mechanical systems.


Design of mass water supply and distribution systems.
