• Target Setting Students will set targets based on their T-score and expected grade for each subject.

Students will review the targets after Term 1 and Mid-Year Examination and consider how to address their weak areas in consultation with their subject teachers.

Held from 2.30 pm to 3.25 pm for various subjects.

Students will have supplementary lessons, remedials, consultations and group study sessions.

• Peer Tutoring (Science): Peer tutors are trained and guided by the teachers to help their fellow classmates.

• Social and Emotional Skills WorkshopsThe graduating students will go through a series of workshops to help them acquire the skills to recognise and manage emotions, develop care and concern for others, make responsible decisions, establish positive relationships, and handle challenging situations effectively.

• Mother Tongue Intensive RevisionHeld after Mid-Year examinations from 8am to 5pm daily to prepare the students for the Mid-Year O-Level Mother Tongue Language Exam.

• June Holiday Academic ProgrammeDuring the first week of June Holiday, supplementary classes will be held for students to master the concepts and skills.

• DSA-JC is an admissions exercise that allows

students to seek admission to a junior college (JC) on the basis of talents and achievements that may not be demonstrated at the GCE ‘O’ Level Examination.

• enables students to enter suitable academic and non-academic programmes in junior colleges that can develop the students in these areas.

When is the DSA-JC Exercise conducted?

• Is conducted in two Phases from late June to late August (based on dates for 2017 Exercise)

• When the application date draws near, an information note will be given by the school to the students

How to apply or qualify?

• Each JC sets its own criteria for selection, based on the academic and / or non-academic areas that the JC would like to emphasise.

• Students can visit the website of the JC they are interested in to find out more information

• If you are selected by a school, you can decide whether to accept or reject the offer

• If you accept an offer, you will be guaranteed a place in the JC / Institution, so long as you meet the eligibility criteria for JC admission based on your GCE ‘O’ Level examination results

What is Early Admissions Exercise (EAE)?

• Poly EAE is an aptitude-based admissions

exercise that allows students to apply for and receive conditional offers for admission to polytechnics prior to receiving their final grades

• Poly EAE is open to graduating O-Level students. Polytechnics can admit up to

15% of their total polytechnic intake via Poly EAE.

• ITE EAE is an aptitude-based admissions

• ITEs can admit up to 15% of their annual intake through ITE EAE.

• Evidence of ability, talent, interests and intent for tertiary education

• Portfolio of achievements, awards and work samples related to the course applied for

• Recommendation letters from mentors or former employers

• School Results which meet the minimum entry requirements (MER) for the course applied for

• Aptitude tests and interviews

Preparing for the Application

• Research on the Poly/ITE courses you are interested in and related careers in the sector

• Prepare a 600-character write-up (Poly) or 100-word write-up (ITE) on why you are interested in the courses - relevant skills/activities/experiences

• Latest school examination results (Mid Year Exam)

• Achievement awards

• Evidence of work attachments and sustained involvement in course-relevant projects
