» My magazine represents my demographic and the content in it is representative of what they are interested in. I used my questionnaire analysis as feedback which would help me create my magazine.

How do the models, layout design and language combine to represent a particular social group?

I used a model who falls within my target demographic as I felt that is the perfect way to represent them.

I used magazine such as vibe as inspiration for the layout, especially the + sign on the left hand side of the magazine. A lot of hip hop magazines are aimed at social groups closely linked to my target group and I find they all meet similar conventions.

Lastly, the language is simple and straight to the point, my social group are used to quick instances of information in a short space, twitter for example. The language being presented in this way represents them as it is already what they are used to which will allow them to familiarise themselves with the magazine more easily

In the way he is dressed and the way he presents himself. Hip-hop magazine front covers are known to feature an artist looking intimidating , wearing expensive jewellery. I do not believe this kind of image represents my intended audience

The front cover model subverts from typical hip-hop conventions in a few ways. For one the way in which the artist is dressed subverts from typical hip hop magazine conventions, for instance he isn't wearing a baseball cap, chain, or any other jewellery.

In terms of the positioning of text, it conforms to stereotypes of most magazines, text is positioned mainly around the artist. With only the strapline and mover story intruding on the front cover models space
