The General Assembly of the World Tourism Oraganisation (WTO)
decided to institute the World Tourism Da} ̂on 27''' September each year by
an appropiate themes announced by General Assembly on the
recommandation of WTO’s executive council. The main purpose of world
tourism day is to create awareness among international community about
the importance of tourism and its socio cultural, political and economic
values.
The following are the selected themes for the World Tourism Day:
