Expecting empty order book in 12 months
Sentiment among architects remains positive, recovery continues in France
Economic and construction figures
▪ The last two years have shown good recovery in France. After years of contraction, 2016 proved to be a positive year again and throughout 2017 this
positivity remained visible. More conclusions and insight can be found in the report.

▪ Each quarter, the European Architectural Barometer Report focuses on a different topic that plays an important role for architects in Europe. In Q4
2017, the focus was on how architectural firms design and exchange data with other building parties, with a focus on the adoption and usage of
Building Information Modeling (BIM). This subject was surveyed by Arch-Vision in 2013 and 2015 as well, but this quarter there were some changes
in the questionnaire. For the familiarity with and usage of BIM, the results of 2013 and 2015 are shown and in case of remarkable differences they
are described briefly.
▪ The following topics will be discussed in this chapter:
▪ Way of designing;
▪ CAD software used;
▪ Familiarity and usage of BIM;
▪ Reasons why organisations start working with BIM or have not yet started with BIM;
▪ (Dis)advantages of BIM;
▪ The extent to which several channels and methods of BIM are used;
▪ Statements related to BIM.
