Young Quick Guide Vanity Young Seng Up Installing the SIM card The SIM card stores informaons as your personal phone number, PIN code, carrier services numbers, contacts and other important details. Both SIM cards must be inserted in the slots placed on the back side of the phone. In order to access this area, the phone must be powered off and the baery removed. SIM cards must be inserted with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner facing outwards. See the diagram below: Installing the Memory card MicroSD card must be inserted, as for the SIM cards, in the back side of the phone, aſter powering off the phone and removing the baery. A dedicated slot fort the memory card is placed beside SIM cards. Unlock the memory card slot by pushing the metal harness toward the "Unlock" posion, then open the harness and slide the memory card into the harness, with the gold contacts facing down. Then close and lock the harness. See the diagram below: Inserng the Baery Your device is provided with a lithium-ion baery and is designed to be used exclusively with original NGM baeries and chargers. Baery must be inserted from the backside of the phone. Align the baery contacts with the phone connector inside the dedicated slot, and let it slide down in posion. See the diagram below: Once the baery is inserted, close the rear cover by gently pushing it in posion. Please refer to the following image: Charging the baery Please charge completely the baery before starng to use the device. Use the USB cable provided, and connect it one end to the USB connector placed on the right side of the phone, and the other end to the wall socket adaptor provided. See the diagram below: USB CONNECTOR When baery is charging, an animated icon on screen will show the charging progress. Once the progress bar is completed phone can be disconnected from the grid. Note: Use only the provided USB cable for recharging the device, Charge the baery indoors in a dry and favourable environment. It's normal for the baery to get slightly warm during the charging process. The baery will not reach the full capacity unl cycled several mes. From the main screen, digit the phone number to call using the telephone keypad. 2. Select the SIM card you want to use, by pressing the SIM1/SIM2 call keys. 3. To end the call, press the End key. Managing contacts Adding new contacts 1. From the main screen, press the BACK buon (RIGHT FUNCTION KEY) to open the Phone book. 2.Click Add contact and select the locaon where you want to save the new contact (Phone or SIM1/SIM2). 3. Enter name and contact number, and any other details (when saving to phone). 4. Conrm saving. Adding new contacts from Call List 1. From Main screen, select Menu. 2. Select CALL LIST > Call Log > SIM1 or SIM2, then choose the contact number you want to save (scrolling the list including Missed calls, Dialled calls and Received calls 3. Click Opons, then Save to Phonebook > Add contact. 4. Conrm saving. Seng ringtones Select a ringtone 1. From Main screen, select Menu. 2. Select SETTINGS > User Profiles > General, then select Opons > Customize > Congure Tone > Incoming Call (SIM1 or SIM2). 3. Select the desired ringtone from the list, then click OK. 4. It is possible to add a customized ringtone. From Incoming call menu (SIM1 or SIM2), select an empty slot at the boom of the ringtones list, then click Add and choose an audio file from folders in the phone memory or memory card. Note: It is possible to use les in .mid, .wav or .mp3 format. The same procedure is of course applicable also to other profiles contained in User Profiles menu. Keypad lock and Shortcuts Locking the keypad 1. From main screen, press and hold the main key (OK) for 3 seconds. 2. This will lock immediately the keyboard. 3. To unlock, briefly press Unlock” (RIGHT FUNCTION key). 4. You will then be prompted to press ”*” key, and this will unlock the keyboard. Last call redial 1. From main screen press SIM1 or SIM2 call key to access the Dialled Calls list for both SIM cards. 2. Select a contact or number from the list, then press the SIM1 or SIM2 key to make the call. How to enable or disable vibraon 1. From main screen, press and hold the # key pto quickly turn on Vibrate mode and to turn off the ringer. 2. By pressing and holding the same key again, the previous user prole will be restored. SIM cards conguraon Disabling one of the two SIM cards 1. From Main screen, select Menu. 2. Select SETTINGS > Dual SIM. 3. Select Acvate SIM1 only or Acvate SIM2 only and confirm. Text input XT9 Text Input XT9 is an advanced system for predicve text entry; when wring SMS messages, this method predicts the word that you are typing, changeing it with each keystroke. The XT9 mode is set by default in the phone. The following are its main features: - Fixed wring: misspelled words are corrected while you are wring - Error Correcon “Sloppy-Type”: typing errors are corrected while you are typing - Word Compleon: the inserted word is automacally completed - Next word predicon: the predicon of whole sentences is built on the history of posts by the user - Interpretaon of abbreviaons - Automac correcon of punctuaon To change the mode of text input, from the Write message screen, press repeatedly the “#” key. Sending and reading messages Sending SMS and MMS 1. From Main Menu screen, select MESSAGES > Write Message for quick access to text entry screen. 2. Enter text using the standard keyboard. 3. Once the message is ready, press OK to choose whether to insert recipient’s number directly or retrieve it from the phone book. 4. Select which SIM to use to send out your SMS. Sending opons 1. From Main Menu screen, select MESSAGES > Send SMS postponed 2. Click Add into the list ofscheduled SMS. 3. Insert Date and Time for the scheduled sending (or just the Time opon, in case the sending is scheduled within the current day), then insert message text, receiver numbers, and SIM card used for sending. 4. Select Save. The message will be included in a Sending List, then sent out at the scheduled me. Aer being sent, the message will be moved to Outbox folder. Web surfing Connecng to the Internet From Menu screen, choose SERVICES > Internet Services. Select Main page to start browsing web sites specifically opmized for WAP. Social networking From Menu screen, choose FACEBOOK orTWITTER to access these networks. Note: before connecng to the Internet services, please make sure you have specied the correct parameters for connecon, according to the SIM card in use (please access the SERVICES menu to check parameters). Sending Email 1. From Main Menu screen, select MESSAGES > Email 2. Select Write message and insert one or more recipients (using To:, CC: e CCN:). 3. Enter the text in the Subject eld. 4. Insert an eventual le aachment. 5. Inserire il testo del messaggio. 6. Once the message is completed, select Done and then Send to send the message out, or Save as drato send later. Note: before using Email funcon, please make sure you have specified the correct parameters for your account , through the Email Account opon. How to use Bluetooth Connecng to a Bluetooth device 1. Turn on the Bluetooth device to which you want to connect. Where necessary, refer to the documentaon of the device. 2. From the Menu screen, choose SETTINGS > Connecvity > Bluetooth. 3. Acvate the Bluetooth state selecng On. 4. Select My Devices > Search new device to start searching for Bluetooth devices (select “Search audio device” if you want to pair with an audio device). 5. Select the device name to associate with, and then choose Associates. The phone will try to connect to the device, and asking for the pairing code. NGM special funcons Black List White List This feature allows you to set up a list of callers that are the only ones to be allowed (either by voice call or SMS). When the funcon is acvated, all the callers not included in the White List will hear the tone of “congested line” (network error) and you will receive one SMS from your operator noficang you of the phone number of the caller. Text messages from those callers will be automacally transferred to the Junkmail folder . Get access to the White List through SETTINGS > Security Sengs > Message and Call Firewall. Anonymous call rejecon When acvated, incoming calls from anonymous users (hidden ID) will automacally be rejected. Therefore, those callers will hear the tone of “congested line”. Get access to the funcon through SETTINGS > Security Sengs > Message and Call Firewall. Rejecng unknown numbers When acvated, incoming calls from phone numbers not previously stored in the phone book (SIM contacts included) will automacally be rejected. Therefore, those callers will hear the tone of “congested line”. Get access to the funcon through SETTINGS > Security Sengs > Message and Call Firewall . This opon allows you to set up a list of phone numbers (contacts) you want to be blocked (either by voice call or SMS). If the funcon is acvated, the black -listed caller will hear the tone of “congested line” (network error) and you will receive one SMS from your operator nocang you of the phone number of the blacklisted caller. Blacklisted text messages will be automacally transferred to the Junkmail folder. Get access to the Black List through SETTINGS > Security Sengs > Message and Call Firewall. Private Firewall The private Firewall allows you to password-protect the access to the archives of messages, contacts, and call logs made and received (you can select one, two or all three of them). Get access to the funcon through SETTINGS > Security Sengs > Privacy Firewall . Answering machine The telephone answering machine is a device designed to record audio messages directly on its local memory without connecng to a server to listen the recordings, thus avoiding the relave charges. Moreover, you can customize your answering machine message, using the phone’s microphone. The answering machine will turn on aſter a preset number of rings, or can be operated manually as answer opon. Get access to the funcon through ORGANIZER > Answering machine. Background sounds Background sounds help to recreate the realisc ambient sounds during a parcular call (i.e. “plaorm” “airport”, “staon”, “restaurant” and other user-recordable sounds). This opon can be selected by default or can be set just in me when there is an incoming call. Get access to the funcon through CALL LIST > Call Sengs > Advanced > Background sounds. Sending SMS with Time Shiing This opon allows you to send a text message, scheduling later me delivery. Please refer to Send and read messages - Sending opon for further details. Coer Coer is an hidden area, accessible only by entering a password, where you can insert and manage your private contacts. The contacts can be saved with their real names and real phone number, and, simultaneously, with nicknames and fake numbers. When receiving a call from a number inserted in this area,the phone will show the nickname of the caller, and his/her fake number.If you receive text messages, they will be reported in an unobtrusive manner. All messages and calls made or received inside the Coer will be saved only in this private area. This feature is not accessible to third pares because, once you have changed the login password, if someone tries to digit the default password “0000”will be addressed to another “fake” coer area, absolutely empty. W arning: This “fake” Coer area should not be used, because it could lead to the loss of data. Installing the SIM cardThe SIM card stores informations as your personal phone number, PIN code,carrier services numbers, contacts and other important details.Both SIM cards must be inserted in the slots placed on the back side of thephone. In order to access this area, the phone must be powered off and thebattery removed.SIM cards must be inserted with the gold contacts facing down and thenotched corner facing outwards. Inserting the BatteryYour device is provided with a lithium-ion battery and is designed tobe used exclusively with original NGM batteries and chargers. Batterymust be inserted from the backside of the phone. Align the batterycontacts with the phone connector inside the dedicated slot, and letit slide down in position.See the diagram below:

Once the battery is inserted, close the rear cover by gently pushingit in position. Please refer to the following image:

Charging the batteryPlease charge completely the battery before starting to use thedevice. Use the USB cable provided, and connect it one end to theUSB connector placed on the right side of the phone, and the otherend to the wall socket adaptor provided.See the diagram below:

Making a call

Making a voice call1. From the main screen, digit the phone number to call using thetelephone keypad.2. Select the SIM card you want to use, by pressing the SIM1/SIM2call keys.3. To end the call, press the End key.

3. Click Options, then Save to Phonebook > Add contact.4. Confirm saving.

1. From Main screen, select Menu.2. Select SETTINGS > User Profiles > General, then select Options >Customize > Configure Tone > Incoming Call (SIM1 or SIM2).3. Select the desired ringtone from the list, then click OK.4. It is possible to add a customized ringtone. From Incoming callmenu (SIM1 or SIM2), select an empty slot at the bottom of theringtones list, then click Add and choose an audio file from foldersin the phone memory or memory card.

Note: It is possible to use files in .mid, .wav or .mp3 format. Thesame procedure is of course applicable also to other profilescontained in User Profiles menu.

Connecting to the Internet

From Menu screen, choose SERVICES > Internet Services. SelectMain page to start browsing web sites specifically optimized forWAP.

Social networking

From Menu screen, choose FACEBOOK orTWITTER to access thesenetworks.Note: before connecting to the Internet services, please make sureyou have specified the correct parameters for connection, accordingto the SIM card in use (please access the SERVICES menu to checkparameters).

Sending Email

1. From Main Menu screen, select MESSAGES > Email2. Select Write message and insert one or more recipients (usingTo:, CC: e CCN:).3. Enter the text in the Subject field.4. Black List

White ListThis feature allows you to set up a list of callers that are the onlyones to be allowed (either by voice call or SMS). When the functionis activated, all the callers not included in the White List will hear thetone of “congested line” (network error) and you will receive oneSMS from your operator notificating you of the phone number ofthe caller. Text messages from those callers will be automaticallytransferred to the Junkmail folder .Get access to the White List through SETTINGS > Security Settings >Message and Call Firewall.

Anonymous call rejectionWhen activated, incoming calls from anonymous users (hidden ID)will automatically be rejected. Therefore, those callers will hear thetone of “congested line”. Get access to the function throughSETTINGS > Security Settings > Message and Call Firewall.

CofferCoffer is an hidden area, accessible only by entering a password,where you can insert and manage your private contacts. Thecontacts can be saved with their real names and real phone number,and, simultaneously, with nicknames and fake numbers. Whenreceiving a call from a number inserted in this area,the phone willshow the nickname of the caller, and his/her fake number.If youreceive text messages, they will be reported in an unobtrusivemanner.
