This is a quick guide on how to use COL’s Java Charts. Please note that this feature only works on java supported
browsers/systems*. To install Java into your Java-capable browser, visit www.java.com and follow installation instructions.
USING COL FINANCIALS’ JAVA CHARTS
You can call out the Charting application by:
1) Clicking on QUOTES >> CHARTING link
2) Clicking on Charting under the Quick Links
Bar
Press the Icons to:
1) Open Java Charts on a new page
2) Open Java Charts on a separate Folder Tab
*Note: Accessing charting functions from non-java capable devices, such as iPads, iPhones and Android instruments
may call out a simple charting application that may be restricted in feature output or display.

The toolbar menus show action buttons when clicked upon should render some change in the chart display. Many of
them work like an on/off button to activate and deactivate. You can change your screen defaults by pressing on theSettings button on the right then make sure to click on the Save button again to lock in your changes.

Preset Indicators
Choose Indicators
(You can now have up
to a maximum of nine
indicators posted
together)
Press Add Indicator toadd it into your chart
view (indicators will
appear in order as
added)
To remove an
indicator just click on
the [X]
COL’s Java Charts has access to about 50 different preset Technical Indicators. It is called out by clicking on the
indicator button then choosing one by one the indicators you wish to see and it will appear in that choice order.

Some Other Functions
Choose your special
function
Right Click on the
Background
COL’s Java Charts can also access certain special tools and features by right clicking on its white chart background. You
can turn on or off some highlights and choose to draw trendlines, support/resistance levels, Fibonacci retracements, textboxes, or arrows. You can also edit things you’ve drawn by moving it or by deleting it.

Drawing LinesYou can draw objects by first choosing the type of object you wish (i.e. Trendlines, Horizontal Support/Resistance
Lines, Fibonacci Retracement zones, Regular Retracement zones, Text, or Arrows ) then by left clicking on the chartarea to start drawing lines, dragging the mouse to your intended area, then letting go when done.
Channel lines can be drawn by moving your cursor to the trendline you wish to duplicate then pressing Shift-Ctrl-
Left Click on the line then dragging the line to your intended target.

Shortcut keys:•Move Object – Hold SHIFT Key and drag object (in automatic drawing mode)
•Delete Object – Hold CTRL Key and left click on object (in automatic drawing mode)
•Parallel Lines - Hold SHIFT+CTRL keys and left click and drag on object
•Edit Text - Hold SHIFT+CTRL keys and left click on text•Change Object Color – Hold CTRL+ALT keys and left click on object
