Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule:
No Wednesday night Bible classes or meals
Devo Only in The Worship Center at 7pm
Church Office will be closed November 23-24
From your shepherds:
We have received several questions from those concerned about our physical safety
and security. It is unfortunate that we have these concerns, but in light of recent
experiences in our nation, we must take responsibility to reduce our risk as much as is
feasible.
Our Safety and Security Committee is led by Rick Lamp and made up of members who
have experience in the field. The committee is continuing to review and improve
procedures and prepare plans for different contingencies. Here are some of the things
we have already done:
• We require criminal background checks for ALL people 18 and over who will be in contact with children under 18.
• We added electronic magnetic locking to external doors to better control
building access.
• We tightened our procedures for giving building access to persons using our facilities.
• We continue to install surveillance cameras throughout our buildings.
• We have established a positive control procedure to protect our children. This includes securing the children’s classroom areas by restricting access to only parents or guardians who have signed in, established people at security checkpoints to ensure access to only those who are registered, and changed the west doors to emergency exit only. Those doors will soon be alarmed to prevent regular use. We understand these changes create some level of inconvenience, but for the safety of our children, we ask you to bear with the changes by not using emergency exits, except in the case of an emergency and by listening to the hallway monitors and complying with their guidance.
Please continue to pray for our physical safety and security. Call the office with any
questions or comments. We will share some additional procedures in an
announcement this morning.
