A NOTE FROM THE CO-ARTISTIC DIRECTORS:Welcome to Noises Off! The straight show – not one of our big ole’ musicals. Only nine

characters. Simple, right? Wrong!

Besides the fact that this play is extremely challenging to actors, scenically it’s extremely

challenging to a company of our size and resources. It requires doors. Lots of them. Ones that slam a lot and that “open when they open and close when they close.” And three

staircases. (You’ll see one in a moment, but just wait for the others!). And then there is the matter of building a show in Ithaca, transporting it to Trumansburg in pieces that fit on a

truck and through the double door leading to the stage, loading it in over the course of a few weekdays (we didn’t have our usual Saturday load in because the space wasn’t

available), and having it do all without bolting anything to the highly polished stage.

We’ve been excited about the play and excited about being here in Trumansburg High

School’s lovely, recently renovated theatre for the first time – so, we marched bravely forward ready to face the scenic challenges …

Enter the team of our brilliant, dedicated Resident Designer Tyler M. Perry and our new, ever-so-welcomed Resident Technical Director Pierre Clavel. They solved it all beautifully.

We’re so pleased, and believe you will be as well. Please join us in thanking them and welcoming Pierre to the R2P fold.

(Oh, and the set is available for rent or sale, so if you or anyone you know is gearing up to produce Nothing On … er, that is Noises Off … please give us a call. Pierre has a bag and

will travel.)

SPECIAL THANKSCornell Theatre Department Scene Shop, Ithaca College Theatre Arts, Adam Klein, Johnny Kontogiannis, Trumansburg High School, Jon Koeng, Mike Babcock, State Theatre Box Office, Bool’s Flower Shop, Alan Rose, George Belokur

BIOSALLISON MOLLENKAMP (Assistant Stage Manager): Allison is thrilled to be working on her 17th, and sadly, last, R2P show. She is a sophomore at Ithaca High School but will be moving over the summer to Missouri. When she's not backstage she's probably onstage, but if she's not either of those places she's probably singing, doing homework, or talking (very loud, with lots of gestures, of course) to her friends. She has really enjoyed this show and would like to thank Lexi for being her partner in crime all these years. Enjoy the show!

AUSTIN BRECHT (Garry/Roger): Austin is a senior at Dryden High School and he is thrilled to be a part of his third Running to Places production! Austin has appeared in many shows at DHS, most recently as “Lumiere” in Beauty and the Beast. Austin is also beyond excited to appear in this summer's R2P production of Urinetown (Bobby). He would like to give thanks to the cast, crew, everyone involved with making this insane show possible, his family and friends for their love and support, and YOU for coming to see the show! Now, please, sit back, I mean, you know, and enjoy the, do you know what I mean?

BRYCE DAMIANI (Tim): is thrilled to be performing in R2P’s Noises Off. A freshman at Trumansburg High School, this is Bryce’s fourth season with R2P. He was last seen in R2P’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Pharaoh). Bryce’s other activities include sports, playing various instruments, reading, and video games. Bryce would like to thank his parents for their support, the cast for making rehearsals the highlight of my week, the crew for their amazing work on this incredible set, and everyone else that made Noises Off a wonderful experience (not to mention show!). So without further ado, please sit back and enjoy this one-of-kind show, Noises Off!

DIANE BECKWITH (Costume Designer): Diane is an R2P parent who, after 5 years of volunteering help with costumes, set painting, front of house, box office, etc., has finally worked up the nerve to costume a show. Many thanks for guidance from Joey, Gail, Gregg, Mary and Carolyn. What a blast this show has been – a fabulous cast to work with and a great production team. Thank you for sharing the fun and laughter with us!

EMMA PLOTKIN (Dotty): is so excited to be in her 8th Running to Places show! Her favorite roles include Nicky's puppeteer in Avenue Q (French Woods), “Lucienne” in A Flea in Her Ear (French Woods) and “Mrs. Tottendale” in the 2011 Running to Places Showcase. Noises Off has been one of the most challenging and most rewarding things she has done so far. She would like to thank Doug Bayer, the wonderful man who can do a cockney accent, and all of her friends and her family for their constant support.

GRACE BOBERTZ (Brooke): Despite the long, tiresome, laborious rehearsals consisting of group naps and weekly pizza parties (and, of course, endless amounts of mind-boggling hard work!), she can’t even begin to describe how much fun she has had being a part of this show! She would like to thank Joey, Lexi, Gail, and the rest of the crew for their never-ending dedication and enthusiasm, the cast for being some of the funniest and most fantastic people she’s ever met, and YOU for supporting this wonderful company and

Page 9: R2PNoisesOffProgram jwrunningtoplaces.org/ProgramsLowRes/R2PNoisesOffProgramLR.pdf · 2016. 9. 6. · at DHS, most recently as “Lumiere” in Beauty and the Beast. Austin is also

coming to see the show! She hopes you have as much of a wonderful time seeing Noises Off as she had being a part of it!

JENNA LEDET (Belinda): feels so thrilled to be a part of Noises Off. She is a senior at Ithaca High School and will be attending The American University of Paris next year! With R2P, she has been seen in The Music Man, Guys and Dolls, Spring Showcase 2011, Hairspray (Prudy), and Anything Goes (Erma). She can be seen next in an independently-produced production of Songs for a New World at the ACS Black Box Theater! Running to Places has been such a special part of Jenna's life and she is so thankful to have met so many incredible people over the years. She would like to thank her parents for their unending support, her siblings, Marissa, Ryan, Dustin, and Dave, the entire cast of Noises Off, Joey, Gail, Mike, Todd and everyone who helped to make the show possible. Enjoy!

JENNETTE KOLLMANN (Lighting Designer): Ms. Kollmann is pleased to be designing for Running To Places. Ms. Kollmann has designed numerous productions for theatre, opera, television and video. Currently Ms. Kollmann is an adjunct lecturer at Ithaca College’s Department of Theatre Arts. Recently she designed Bloomberg Television’s new broadcast studio in London, England. Other projects include special events, video shoots and performances for Blue Man Group. Ms. Kollmann has toured with The Acting Company as Lighting Director for Macbeth and Three Musketeers in repertory. Design credits include: L'italiana in Algeri (Austin Lyric Opera), Laramie Project (Gallery Players), Curse of the Starving Class, Alice in Wonderland (Eiojes Dance Theatre), The Sound of Music (CSP), and Il Ritorno d’Ulisse (Pittsburgh Opera). Ms. Kollmann is a graduate of Ithaca College and Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.

KAI HASKINS (Selsdon): is a sophomore at New Roots Charter School and is thrilled to be back working with R2P. Previous roles include: “Bottom” in A Midsummer's Night's Dream, “Renfield” in Dracula, “Weasel Norman” in Wind in the Willows, and “John” in Anything Goes. He has worked backstage with the Kitchen Theatre shows Boom and The Mystery of Irma Vep. Last year Kai also directed a production of The Lorax at Northern Light Learning Center. Kai would like the thank the fantastic cast and crew, his friends for putting up with constant requests to help him run lines (“Read it out loud with someone else”), and of course his wonderful parents for driving him to and from rehearsal.

KEVIN HILGARTNER (Lloyd): a senior at IHS, is thrilled, honored, and saddened to be part of this, his last R2P production. Some of Kevin’s favorite prior R2P roles include: “Fagin” in Oliver, “Romeo” in Romeo and Juliet, “Moonface Martin” in Anything Goes, “Banjo” in The Man Who Came to Dinner, “The Modern Major General” in The Pirates of Penzance, and “Jamie” in the R2P2 production of The Last Five Years. He has appeared in productions at the Kitchen Theatre, Hangar Theatre, Cornell Schwartz Center, Ithaca High School, Boynton Middle School, and the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre. Kevin is also President and Artistic Director of Shakespeare in the Basement, an entirely youth-run Shakespeare company, with which he recently directed Twelfth Night (look for our ad in the program – another production coming up soon)! Kevin will be attending Harvard in the fall. This being the close of sorts of Kevin’s Ithaca youth theatre career, there are a few people he wants to thank from the bottom of his heart: his family for all their love, Gail for all her hard work and her support through so many productions, Todd for his patience, inspiration, and miracle-working, and Joey, who is largely responsible for getting him into this crazy business in the first place, and from whom he has learned so much about theatre and about life. Kevin also wants to thank all the amazing people he has been lucky enough to meet through theatre in Ithaca, and you all in the audience for supporting this art which means so much to him. Thank you, and enjoy the show.

LAUREL WOLFE (Wardrobe Supervisor): is thrilled to finally be "on the other side of the table," working on the tech side of things. She has been in R2P shows since the very beginning, most recently Hairspray. She wants to thank so many people for making this production happen (including those who drove her out to Trumansburg for tech week). Enjoy the show!

LEXI BRENNAN (Stage Manager): Lexi is a homeschooled senior who will be attending the University of Toronto in the fall. Lexi has loved working on eleven wonderful shows with

Running to Places, including You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and The Wind in the Willows. Lexi would like to thank her family and friends for their support and good humor, the Noises Off cast and production team for their amazing work, and Gail and Joey for their inspiring mentorship over the years.

MATT AVERY (Freddie): Sorry everyone, you know how stupid I am about ... Bios! Matt is a Junior at Ithaca High School and is proud to announce that Noises Off! is his first straight play with Running To Places. Some of his favorite roles include, “Sid Sorokin” in Ithaca High School's The Pajama Game, “Prince Charming” in R2P's Cinderella, “Tommy Djilas” in R2P's The Music Man, and of course, “Coach Bolton” in Boynton's High School Musical. Be sure to look for him in his next upcoming role as “Will Parker” in R2P's Oklahoma. When Matt isn't on stage, he is singing it up, drawing, hanging out with friends, walking all over Ithaca, or just being weird. He would like to thank everyone at Running To Places, cast and crew, his family, and his friends for their support. Enjoy the show!

MOLLY WESTBROOK (Light Board Op/Run Crew): is a sophomore at IHS. She is very excited to be participating in her fifth R2P show, and her twentieth show overall (yay)! In the past couple of months she has ASM'd for IHS drama's Pajama Game, operated spot for Oliver (R2P), and helped with run crew in Twelfth Night (SitB). She would like to thank her mom, Jennette, and Tina Mollenkamp for rides. Enjoy the show!

SARAH BECKWITH (Poppy): is a senior at Lansing High School, and is absolutely ecstatic to be a part of Noises Off, her 9th R2P show!! Noises Off is also her first straight play with R2P and she could not be having more fun. Some of Sarah’s favorite roles with R2P include “Minstrel” in Once Upon a Mattress and “Hope Harcourt” in Anything Goes. She is also looking forward to playing the role of “Laurey Williams” in Oklahoma this summer. Most recently she was seen as “Polly Baker” in Lansing High School’s production of Crazy For You. In the fall, Sarah will be attending Shenandoah Conservatory for musical theatre. When she is not onstage, Sarah likes to play piano, babysit and cuddle with her cat. She would like to thank everyone who made this show possible, and the cast and crew for making this one of the greatest Running To Places experiences she has ever had. Now let’s do this for doors and sardines! Enjoy!

acting at Ithaca College, Cornell, SUNY Cortland, Hangar Theatre’s Next Generation program, and the Ithaca Youth Bureau. As an actor, Joey has appeared in many mainstage and Family Fare shows at the Kitchen Theatre. He is proudest of his favorite production: Aram.

LINDA HARRIS (Finance Manager) As an R2P parent she was, and continues to be, extremely inspired by the dedication of the founders of R2P. She has observed their positive influence on our sons and daughters and the enormous amount of personal time they give, all delivered with never-ending enthusiasm and a smile. When R2P reached the goal of obtaining their non-profit status (no small feat in itself!) and needed to move forward to prepare to do business “officially” she gladly volunteered her services to help them set up shop. She brings with her, (in addition to her enthusiasm and excitement!), over twenty years of finance and administrative experience. More than ten of those years were in the non-profit sector such as The Chemical Dependencies Clinic of Otsego County and most recently, several years as the Finance Manager at the Cayuga Nature Center. Presently she is a grant and contract officer for the College of Ag and Life Sciences at Cornell. She is looking forward to working with the rest of the R2P staff “behind the scenes,” (where Gail knows she is happiest!), and supporting their hard work and heartfelt efforts for our local youth.

MIKE WADE (Resident Music Director) currently serves as choral and guitar teacher at Charles O. Dickerson High School, in Trumansburg, N.Y. He is a proud alumnus of Ithaca College, where he received his B.M. in Music Education, with concentrations in piano and voice.  Over the last four years, he has collaborated extensively with Running to Places in various capacities, as music director, conductor and collaborative pianist. Other engagements have included vocal coach & accompanist for Ithaca College’s Introduction to Music Theatre for high school students, and collaborative pianist for several Area-All State and All-County festivals throughout upstate New York. He has also worked as a pianist for several musicals & operas at Ithaca College, including a concert performance of Dana Wilson’s new opera, Wolf by the Ears. He is a proud member of the national music fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and holds membership in the National Association for Music Education and the American Choral Directors Association. Mike maintains a small private studio on the side, and is extremely grateful to be doing the work he loves. Much love to his family, who helped give him the tools and support he needed to do the things he loves!

PIERRE CLAVEL (Technical Director): has been involved in theater production for 25 years (or 41, depending on how you count). His daughter Elise appeared in Oliver and Joseph with R2P.

TODD PETERSON (Resident Choreographer) has been performing and instructing professionally for over 20 years. A former Broadway performer, Todd was trained locally and in New York City. His instructional and choreographic genre include ballet, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, and acrobatic forms of dance. While attending America’s Youth on Parade he also was ranked #2 in the international Drum Major Contest. Todd is an inductee in the Twirlers Hall of Fame. He also opened for the Bob Hope ”Thanks for the Memories” tour in Utica, N.Y. Locally he was the co-founder/director of Ithaca’s Thunderbolt Parade and Show Corp, co-founder of the Boynton Theatre Project, and dance instructor for CSMA and SUNY Cortland.
