 Overv iew    The  Sunshine  Grand  Prix  will  be  held  during  the  week  of  March  25  to  April  2,  2017  at  various  venues  throughout  the  Tampa  Bay  area.  This  major  event  brings  the  best  of  Professional  &  Amateur  Cycling  races  and  a  variety  of  Fun  Community  &  Healthy  Living  activities.      The  Sunshine  Grand  Prix  is  an  initiative  of  the  Florida  Cycling  Foundation,  Inc,  our  501(c)(3)  non-­‐profit  charitable  organization,  which  was  established  to  foster  cycling  and  healthy  communities  through  advocacy,  education,  and  promotion.      All  funds  received  for  the  Sunshine  Grand  Prix  will  be  used  to  cover  the  operational  deficit  to  produce  the  event  and  to  activate  the  marketing  &  communications  requirements  of  our  sponsors.    The  surplus  will  be  used  to  impact  the  local  charities  selected  by  our  board  of  directors  and  sponsors,  and  to  fund  our  primary  goals  that  improve:    

• Collaboration  among  all  cycling  stakeholders  • Access  and  safety  of  cycling  in  our  communities  • Programming  of  cycling  related  activities  in  our  schools  • Promotion  of  our  region  as  a  cycling  and  healthy  living  destination

 USAC  National  Race  Calendar  Race:    Saturday’s  Criterium  is  part  of  the  NEW  American  Road  Calendar.    USAC  Junior  DEVO  Race  Series:    All  4  races  have  been  designated  part  of  the  Juniors  DEVO  Race  Series.    Training  Ride:    The  EPIC  Hills  Training  Ride  is  now  sanctioned  under  USA  Cycling  thanks  to  the  donation  and  support  of  the  Florida  Bicycle  Racing  Association.  Registration  is  FREE!  A  representative  from  the  FBRA  will  be  present  to  collect  signed  waivers  and  to  join  us  on  our  ride.  We  request  that  each  rider  sign  a  waiver  before  the  start  of  the  event  so  please  arrive  early  OR  bring  a  completed  copy  and  drop  it  off.    By  participating,  YOU  ASSUME  ALL  RISKS,  known  or  unknown,  incidental  to  these  rides  and  all  other  activities  related  to  anyone  involved  on  these  rides,  all  participants,  the  Florida  Cycling  Foundation,  Inc.,  the  Sunshine  Grand  Prix,  its  sponsors,  affiliates,  and  any  and  all  related  and  non-­‐related  parties.

Regula t ions • Permitting:    All  races  part  of  the  Sunshine  Grand  Prix  will  be  held  under  USA  Cycling  event  permit  and  subject  

to  the  governing  rules  in  the  USAC  Rule  book.  Licensed  USAC  officials  will  be  responsible  for  all  start/finishes,  rulings,  and  determining  end  results  and  scoring.  For  further  explanation  of  race  rules  and  regulations,  please  go  to  www.usacycling.org.        

• Licensing:    All  race  participants  must  have  a  valid  USA  Cycling  racing  license  and  will  be  required  to  race  in  the  Category  listed  on  that  license.  One-­‐day  licenses  and  annual  USAC  licenses  will  be  available  for  purchase  daily  at  the  Sunshine  Grand  Prix  registration  tables,  but  in  the  interest  of  saving  time,  you  are  encouraged  to  please  purchase  your  license  prior  to  the  event.  All  license  purchase  information  and  rates  can  be  found  at  www.usacycling.org.  USAC  rules  will  govern  all  races.    

• Anti-­‐Doping:    All  races  are  conducted  under  USA  Cycling  and  USADA  anti-­‐doping  regulations.    • Waivers:    All  Athletes  must  have  waivers  signed  prior  to  picking  up  race  numbers.    All  Juniors  must  have  

waivers  signed  by  parent  or  guardian  prior  to  racing.    • Timing  Chips:    Electronic  chips  will  be  used  to  time  and  score  these  events.  MyLaps  chips  will  be  available  to  

rent  for  $10  for  the  weekend.    • Refunds  /  Transfer  Policy:  

o No  credits  or  refunds  will  be  given  for  rain  or  weather  conditions.  Rain  or  Shine!  o No  refunds  or  credits  due  to  rider  accident  or  mishap.  o No  transfer  of  registration  fees  to  other  teammates  or  friends.  o You  may  transfer  your  rider  registration  fee  to  another  race  day  but  no  refunds.  o No  refunds  or  credits  will  be  granted  to  a  rider  who  misses  or  shows  up  late  for  a  race.    

• Entry  Discounts:    See  the  Entry  Fees  section  on  page  5  for  applicable  discounts.  • No  Wait  Lists:    Once  fields  are  maxed  out  for  a  respective  venue  and  category,  that  category’s  race  is  closed  

and  no  additional  registrations  will  be  accepted.  For  avoidance  of  doubt,  if  a  registered  race  field  has  maxed  out,  and  you  are  not  registered,  you  will  not  race.    

• Race  Numbers:    PLEASE  KEEP  YOUR  NUMBERS  FROM  DAY  TO  DAY  –  all  numbers  issued  to  you  must  be  worn.    • No  Littering:    Please  do  not  litter  on  the  course  or  surrounding  areas.  Please  leave  the  course  and  surrounding  

areas  as  you  found  them.  Littering  may  be  grounds  for  disqualification.    • Prize  Money  &  Minimum  Fields:  Promoter  reserves  the  right  to  reduce  individual  races  and/or  omnium  prize  

money  if  minimum  fields  are  not  met.  • Omnium:    Riders  may  participate  in  as  few  or  as  many  participating  events  as  they  choose.  Every  race  counts  

and  will  be  scored.    Riders  will  have  an  opportunity  to  earn  points  at  each  of  the  qualified  events  and  their  combined  score  will  determine  their  Omnium  total  points  and  final  position  in  the  Omnium.  If  two  or  more  Individual  riders  are  awarded  the  same  total  number  of  Omnium  points,  the  following  tiebreaker  system  shall  be  used:  

o The  Individual  with  the  most  first  place  finishes  o The  Individual  with  the  most  second  place  finishes  o The  Individual  with  the  most  third  place  finishes  o The  highest  points  earned  in  the  final  participating  even

Wednesday,  March  29,  2017    EPIC  “Hills”  Training  Ride
