INTRODUCTION

We’ve taken the best and made it better. We’re pushing this thing forward at full-speed, and in 2012 Ragley goes full-suspension, with the addition of three complete bikes in varying specs joining our hugely popular existing range of hardtails. And those hardtails are also available as full bikes this year too. Those who know us already don’t need the sales pitch on Ragley’s incredible value for money – safe to say that nobody else offers as much smile-induced bang for your buck. Whether you’re blasting around your local trail centre, busting your guts on a mountain climb or battling through techy singletrack there’s a Ragley that’ll get you there and back. It won’t stop you crashing though, we’re not guaranteeing that. Our new full-bounce models follow Ragley principles of steep seat angle, long front centre and slack head angle. And did we mention fun? There’s also a full-sus 29er too. Fathead tubing, dropper seatpost-compatibility and our Three Finger chainstay bridge come as standard. We hope you like what we’ve done and where we’re going. We’ve enjoyed bringing it this far. Now it’s your turn.

Coming from a hardtail bike to a full suspension model is a strange feeling. Often bikes with equal travel felt under-forked to us. So this is where we ended up. Short travel rear, long travel front. Short travel rear means the bike stays stable and familiar over tight trail obstacles without bobbing, squatting and jacking under pedal and brake loads. Geometry following Ragley principles of steep seat angle, long front centre, slack head angle give familiar handling, but now with extra dimensions of comfort, control, speed and most of all Fun. The dual-link progressive suspension gives fantastic rear triangle stiffness, amazing strength to weight ratios, fantastic pedal and brake action. ISCG mounts forged into the frame allow all types of chain device and drivetrain to be fi tted. Named 10-4 because 100mm of rear and 140mm up front.

For 2012, the big wheeled bikes are growing up. With the myriad of new fork, tyre and wheel options available, the next year will show the development of the new big wheeled all mountain machine. Ragley embrace this with the Big 10-4, built strong and tough to cope with the loads that bigger riders and bigger wheels can put through a bike, all in our optimised alloy chassis whose weight belies its strength.

Taking the principle of the 10-4 to new extremes, the G6 is optimised around a 160mm travel fork, showing 130mm of travel at the back end. Everything the 10-4 does, the G6 does bigger - with a slacker head angle, longer wheelbase, for high speed stablity on bombing runs, but with a pedal action that punches like a true short travel bike to let you get back up the slopes.

Launched in 2009 to acclaim and rave reviews, Ragley have not rested in their quest to make the best hardball frames on the market. The Piglet is a more “normal” trail friendly frame, featuring new manufacturing techniques, new features but designed for a shorter 120mm fork, and a little steeper head angle, steep seat angle geometry, giving a fast trail frame for people who like going up and along, as much as they like going down.

We’ve done our time with “alt” bar designs, and we know what can work. We know that people that like them, really like them, and those that don’t, well, they stand and stare. So we threw technology at it. If you’re going to make a different bar, let’s make it really different - but not just for the sake of it. Carbon, and not just any carbon but Toray T-700 carbon, and covered with a dual layer wrap of Dupont Kevlar. Nobody else does this and we don’t know why.... T700 is used for structural strength, and Kevlar for it’s abrasion resistant properties - protecting the inner carbon from knocks and scratches. Makes sense, even if you think the bar doesn’t eh?

Alternative style mountain bike bar with 25deg backsweep. Oversize bar clamp for strength and stiffness when you’re hauling. Specced with 685mm tip-to-tip, which as the bars are angled makes them feel like a true trail-worthy 700mm bar. That’s 27.5in. They can be trimmed, a little, but the width is great for control - we like it this way. Now available in two versions - the regular one with 1in rise, and a fl ipped version with 1in drop for people wanting a low front end, and a fl at version for those that can’t decide.

Using our experience from the Carnegie project, we used a Toray T-700 carbon structural element, and a DuPont Kevlar outer wrap to protect the carbon elements of bar from any trail based damage. 8deg back and 5deg upsweep round out the package.

Long lever tucks nicely out of the way and allows smooth operation with lots of clamping force. Comes with a replacement plastic bush because it’s a moving part that will wear. Keep it on your key ring or you’ll lose it.

CNC’d from a solid billet of 7075-T6 alloy, the Stubbing stem is designed to hold your bars securely whatever moves you’re pulling. With a Lock-Down clamping mechanism, the top of the bar clamp locks shut, and tension for bar clamping is taken care of by the two lower bolts - avoiding any problems with uneven tensioning across the faceplate.

Three lengths but only 5mm difference between each let you choose the exact right length for your fun hardtail. With only 50, 55 or 60mm to choose from, you can see we encourage short-stem use, with a matching wide bar being a great complementary addition.
