The second tab in the screen above says “membership”. Click it.

The membership menu is on the left. The first line says “Join IEEE”. Click it.

The screen above offers different ways to join. Follow your preference. In the course of joining, there will be an option to also join the IEEE Standards Association. You must do this. In the course of joining, there will be an option of joining the Vehicular Technology Society (VTS). If you work for a transit agency and would like to receive travel expenses from IEEE, you must join VTS.

Near the middle of the page, find the link for “join IEEE SA today” Click it. Follow the links and read information. Ultimately join as an individual member.

Under the tab for “Standards Development”, click where it says “Enter here” Scroll to the bottom and it will look like the following screen.

Under Balloting Center, click the “Log in and Ballot”. At this point, there are some variations. Follow your nose until you get to a screen that looks something like the one below.

Click the link that says “Select Activity Profile”.

Click the “+” next to “Vehicular Technology Society

Now there are two options. First, you can check the box “Rail Transit” to be notified of all rail transit standards ballots. Second, you can click the “+” to be notified of particular standards.
