cellofoam products for rail vehicles
Our highly durable Cello® insulation products designed
specially for use in rail vehicles are based on intensive
in-company research on advanced materials, added-value
material combinations and processing techniques. They
comply with all European fire safety standards and
provide not only excellent acoustic performance, but
also highly effective insulation against heat and cold.
As they help solve three problems at once, Cellofoam
products offer additional benefits in terms of purchasing,
storage and installation costs.
The following table provides a first overview of our
products for rail vehicles and their key characteristics.
We will be pleased to discuss further details and answer
any questions in a personal meeting.

all-round protection – Cello® f800 fr ho alg-01
The side walls and roof of a rail vehicle are a potential
gateway for various factors interfering with the passen-
gers’ comfort. This is why they need to be equipped with
effective insulation.
Cello® f800 fr ho alg-01, a pes non-woven with an
aluminum surface layer, combines outstanding sound
absorption values with excellent fire performance. The
corrosion-proof and anti-bacterial aluminum surface has
been optimized for acoustic effectiveness. In addition,
it blocks the penetration of liquids into the non-woven,
preventing fungal and mold growth. Installed in the side
walls and ceiling, Cello® f800 fr ho alg-01 forms a kind
of hygienic cocoon that shields the vehicle’s interior
against undesirable thermal or acoustic conditions and
turns rail travel into a pleasant experience.

extra functionality – Cello® drain
The key requirements for materials installed in rail
vehicle floors include efficient sound transmission
insulation, optimum thermal insulation, and excellent
mechanical and aging stability.
The solution of choice is our Cello® drain combination
product, a fire-, vibration- and crush-resistant pes non-
woven layer with excellent sound absorption values is
enhanced with a flexible fiber matrix layer that allows
condensation water to drain off easily in all directions.
This makes Cello® drain the ideal product for floor
insulation. The absorber remains unaffected by the
presence of humidity or condensation and retains its
positive characteristics across the entire lifecycle of the
vehicle.

clean, fresh air – Cello® f800 fr ho alg-01
Air conditioning & ventilation: While one may not always
be aware of it, having clean air to breathe is a decisive
factor for worry-free travel comfort. This is why we at
Cellofoam have made it one of our core competencies to
provide perfect insulation materials for high-perfor mance
ac and ventilation systems and air ducts.
The use of our aluminum-coated pes non-woven Cello®
f800 fr ho alg-01 helps ensure a reliable supply of
fresh and healthy air. Its anti-bacterial aluminum
surface is an effective means of preventing fungal and
mold growth in air ducts and ac or ventilation systems.
And the highly stable fiber composite of the acousti cally
very effective non-woven successfully minimizes the
bothersome noise generated by moving air.
well wrapped – Cello® pipe insulation
Air conditioning & ventilation: Made from Cello® f800
fr ho alg-04, Cello® pipe insulation products help
save energy and extend your pipe system’s useful life.
The aluminum surface of the acoustically effective pes-
non-woven keeps oil and water out and efficiently reflects
heat radiation. The flexible material smoothly adjusts to
the pipe layout, including elbows and bends.
Cello® pipe insulation meets the strictest requirements
in terms of fire safety and resistance to hydrolysis and
light rays. The resulting high aging stability ensures
effective heat insulation and protection of your pipes for
the long term.
main advantages:: Excellent acoustic and thermal insulation
:: Compliant with all European fire safety directives
:: Anti-bacterial surface, resistant against
fungal growth
:: Aluminum surface ensures compliance with
strictest hygienic standards
:: Physiologically absolutely safe,
no formaldehyde emissions
:: No emission of fibers even under vibration exposure
main advantages:: High energy savings
:: Very long lifetime
:: Aluminum foil effectively reflects heat radiation
and blocks the penetration of liquids
:: Tear-proof aluminum layer thanks to embedded scrim
:: Hygienic: no fungal or mold growth
:: Flexible for easy mounting around pipe bends etc.

three-in-one Cello® hl firestop r
Partition walls & floor: The environment-friendly,
acoustically effective heavy layer Cello® hl firestop r
com bines three functions relevant for safety and comfort
in rail travel: fire control, noise control and vibration
damping.
Fire control: The modern fire-retardant film is made
from thermoplastic polyolefins with a high content of
mineral fireproofing agents. This composition helps stop
flame propagation and limit the damage caused by the
fire. If the material is exposed to an open flame, a crust
forms on its surface that slows down flame propagation.
This provides passengers and crew with extra time to
leave the train.
Noise reduction and vibration attenuation: The more
lightweight the construction of a rail vehicle’s floor, the
more noise and vibrations are transmitted to its interior.
This makes floors a perfect application area for Cello®
hl firestop r because its excellent sound insulation and
attenuation values ensure highly effective noise control.
In addition, the high mass of the heavy layer substan tially
reduces vibrations of the floor and wall elements. At a
thickness of only 2.5 mm, Cello® hl firestop r has a
weight of 5 kg/m².
main advantages:: Vibration damping
:: Excellent sound insulation and
absorption performance
:: Very good sound transmission
insulation for a weight of 5 kg/m²
main advantages:: Effective fire barrier
:: Prevention of flame propagation
:: Fire containment solution
:: Exceptional fire performance
:: Recyclable

environment and health
Cellofoam rail products are physiologically absolutely
safe, free of formaldehyde emissions and fully reach
compliant (as of June 2014).
The excellent hydrolysis stability and uv resistance of
the non-wovens minimizes aging effects and extends
the products’ lifetime to at least 30 years. At the end of
their useful life, the materials are fully recyclable.
as if on rails
All Cellofoam rail products are easy to cut to size using
a carpet knife, scissors or a keyhole saw. Cutting
generates neither fibers nor dust – no protective gear is
required.
For added convenience, you can benefit from our
versatile manufacturing services: Just send us your cad
data and we will produce precision-cut parts and
package them as ready-to-use complex sets that per fectly
suit your operations requirements.
advantages:: Pre-cut 2d/3d parts according to your cad data
:: No dust or fibers given off during processing
and cutting
:: No protective clothing needed
:: If required, the materials can be cut to measure
on site, using the Bosch foam cutter saw gsg 300
or a standard keyhole saw with a No. t 313 aw blade.
