WATERPROOFING COMPOUND

A Water dilutable Waterproofing compound offers low VOC alternative to solvent-based for industrial and architectural applications.It is a water dilutable compound that produces coatings with excellent water and chemical resistance when fully cured. It has excellent adhesion to various substrates such as M.S., Glass, Aluminum, Plastics, Concrete, Ceramics, Masonry, Stones etc.

Dilution

The product diluted with water in the mixing ratio 1:2 i.e. twicethe material taken. Appearance of the solution after dilution ofwater may be translucent to milky white.

Application

The diluted product can be applied by brushing. The waterproofing compound can be applied directly onbuilding terrace or roof without damaging the top substrates. For better adhesive property, proper cleaningof the surface and roughening by wire brush on china chips laying is required. The product can be applied onslightly wet substrate. The best results achieved by application of two to three coats of the product at theinterval of 4-8 hrs between the subsequent coats.

Curing

The water diluted product dries at normal dry atmospheric conditions.Curing rate increases at elevated temperature.As the curing temperature and schedule increases the cured film gives excellent performance properties.The product can be over-coated after 4-24 hrs of drying at normal dry atmospheric conditions.The product can be used with Portland cement to enhance the early water resistance property but the productincreases curing rate of Portland cement so addition of cement curing retarders may required.

Uses

The resin can be used for building terrace waterproofing, primercoat for floor coatings, water resistant coat prior to architecturalcoatings, Thermal/Heat insulation coatings for terrace etc.

Application by Storage

conventional spraying, brushing, dipping In supplied form waterproofing compound has storage stabilityof six months at normal storage conditions of unsealed container.Extended storage at high temperatures should be avoided to prolong the useful life of the resins.The resins should be stored in a cool, dry location at temperatures between 10°C and 35°C.

Handling Precautions

Mandatory and recommended industrial hygiene procedures should be followed whenever reactive resinsystems are being handled and processed.However operators are obliged to use personal protective equipment to avoid skin contact with the materials.
