What is the student work day?
Summer camps are highly valued events for students at Twin Cities
Church. Every year, both high school and jr. high students return
home with amazing stories about how God moved in their hearts and
gave them the desire to put positive changes in place into their lives.
With an annual increase in camp cost, we realize that there are
families who need additional financial assistance on top of Twin Cities
scholarships, which are donated by generous church members.
With this in mind, we have created a Student Work Day. Our goals
for this work day are to give families additional resources to help raise
funds towards camp cost, have students practice hard work and
responsibility and to serve our community. We have teamed up with a
local organization to make this outside work day possible.

Here’s what you need to know:
Date: Saturday, May 7th
Drop off + Pick up: @ 17183 Retrac Way, Grass Valley. Students will be working at
Christian Encounter Ministries (CEM), a local Christian organization that helps rebuild
the lives of hurting youth/young adults. There will be signs out to help guide you to
and from CEM.
Time: Students are welcome to come and go anytime between 9am and 5pm.
Everyone will need to check-in and check-out to make sure the amount of hours
worked is correct.
Sponsors: Students will need to seek out friends and family to sponsor them for
every hour they work or a flat rate pledge. The sponsorships they receive will be how
their funds are raised. We want to encourage students to first ask for sponsors in
person, but if that isn’t possible, a phone call would be the next best option. Try and
steer clear from texts, emails or Facebook messages, it’s best to keep it personal.
What to bring: Lunch and snacks will be provided. Please bring a reusable water
bottle, sunscreen, gloves (if you have them), and a signed Written Assumption of Risk
Agreement and Release form (page 3). Make sure to wear close toed shoes and pants.
The day will be general outside work, such as trail clearing, blackberry clearing, pulling
weeds/cattails, etc.

Date: Saturday, May 7
Twin Cities Church has been sending their students to summer camps for 15 years. Every year, students return home with awesome stories
about how God moved, the fun they had and life changes they made. The price of camp continues to rise yearly, making it more difficult
for our students to commit to attending. Although Twin Cities offers scholarships to families, additional financial assistance is often still
needed. With this problem in mind, we have teamed up with Christian Encounter Ministries (a local organization dedicated to rebuilding
the lives of hurting youth/young adults) and organized a student work day. On May 7th, students will have the opportunity to spend the
day working (9am-5pm) to raise money towards their summer camp balance. They will seek out friends and family that are willing to
sponsor them for every hour they work or a flat rate pledge.
