RAJAGOPAL POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE

The ambition and initiative of the great industrialist Late. Shri.B.RAJAGOPAL NAIDU to provide technical education facilities to the youth of Vellore district was the chief cause for establishment of Rajagopal Polytechnic College in 1960. This Poly-technic College was started under the second five year plan of the Government of India, sponsored by the RAJAGOPAL EDUCATIONAL TRUST.

The Polytechnic College is aided by Govt. of Tamil Nadu and offers three year Diploma courses in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electron-ics & Communication Engineering, and Automobile Engineering. Located on a 16 Acres plot in the Gudiyattam – Katpadi Road, 2Kms from Gudiyattam and 28Kms from Katpadi. The Polytechnic College has calm atmosphere conducive for sound education.

The Polytechnic College has been maintaining high standards of discipline and produce uniformly excellent results.

The Institution is affiliated to the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai and the overall management of the institution is vested with the governing council under the able leadership of Shri.S.BALAKRISHNA, Chairman.

DEPT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Mechanical engineering department was

started in the year 1962 with an intake of 40 students.

Since then the mission of our department has been to

produce competent and disciplined mechanical engi-

neers. The exponential growth of technology demands

for multi-disciplinary competency from conventional

engineers and thus we are committed to cater to the

needs of industries, business and community by

developing socially committed multi-dimensional me-

chanical engineers with innovative thinking,

managerial skill to manufacture quality products for

the betterment of mankind.

Presently the department offers 3 year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering courses with 60 seats under the State Government aided course, 180 seats under self-supporting scheme (Regular and Shift) & Diploma in Automobile Engineering with 60 seats.

OBJECTIVE OF THE CONFERENCE: Today’s technological approaches provide a platform

for the new developments to compete globally. This primary objective of this conference is to bring

together experts from various academic institutions, industries, research organizations and professional engineers for sharing of knowledge, expertise and experience in the recent advancements in Mechanical Engineering and Automobile Engineering/ Electrical/Electronics/Civil Engineering.
