About the Report

The Rajasthan CSR Report 2019 is a joint research publication by Department of Industries, Govern-ment of Rajasthan and NGOBOX, presenting an oveview of CSR spend by big companies in the financial year 2017-18 in Rajasthan. The state has been among the top 10 CSR fund recipient states in India for the past three financial years.

The report looks at 182 companies’ CSR portfolios along with the CSR priorities and scope for collaborative CSR projects in the state. The report also presents a brief note on CSR foundations implementing CSR projects in the state along with a short description of a few flagship CSR initia-tives in Rajasthan.

Here are the criteria for the selection of the companies for this report:

I. Availability of the annual financial data of the companies by 31st April, 2019II. Prescribed CSR above INR 0.50 Cr. in FY 2017-18 III. Reporting of CSR projects as per the Companies Act, 2013 IV. Atleast one CSR project implementation in Rajasthan

Note: The state-specific CSR spent is derived on the basis of the actual CSR spent reported by the companies as per the Companies Act, 2013. Barmer District Hospital is one the largest and vital health service provider in the Barmer district equipped with 300 beds and 150+ rooms. The hospital caters to communities living in urban as well as rural areas of the district. On average, the number of patients visiting the hospital on a daily basis is in the range of 1500 -2500. The proportion of the Doctor'srequired vis-a-vis OPDs is low. Due to lack of specialised services like ENT, gynaecology & general surgery, many of the cases were referred to hospitals in the city of Jaipur or Jodhpur. Retaining specialist doctors and maintaining hygienic hospital premises were a constant challenge for the district health department. In order to maintain the medical facilities in Barmer District Hospital, the company has initiated initiatives like ‘Green Barmer, Clean Barmer’, Mobile Health Servics, awareness camps etc.
