RAJMACHI NEAR LONAVALA

Basic Info: Rajmachi is a fort located near Lonavala. It height from sea level is 2710 feet.

It offers an amazing view of the Sahyadri mountains and the backwaters of Shirota Dam.

Routes: From Pune you got to head towards Lonavala. On the way there is a diversion just

before Khandala Ghat which will take you to Kunhe Gaon which is a village from where u have a

bad road which will lead you to Rajmachi or Udhewadi which is a base

village. This road is tough and you will find urself riding through the mountains with a valley on

one side and a stone wall on the other of this fort. If you are confused about the route, you can

ask the locals at Lonavala for directions, but make sure you ask

for "RAJMACHI FORT". because there's another place with the same name "Rajmachi" which is

just a view point at khandala ghat near Khandala.

SINHAGAD NEAR PUNE

Basic Info: Sinhagad fort is just 30 Kms away from Central Pune and is a a very popular

fort. Height above sea level is 4320 feet.

Routes: A motorable road from Sinhagad Road takes you to the top of the fort. There are 2 ways

to reach to the base of the fort.

The first one is via Vadgaon Dhayari and Khadakwasala. The other road is via Katraj Ghat via

RAJGAD NEAR PUNE

Basic Info: Rajgad is a fort located near Katraj. The height of Rajgad from sea level is 4250

feet and offers spectacular views of Sahyadri Mountains. One can see Sinhagad and Torna

fort from Rajgad.

Routes: The way to Rajgad is via NASRAPUR Phata which is approximately 15 - 20 Kms from

Katraj Tunnel. Reach NASRAPUR by NH 4, this is approx 35 kms from Pune Station. From

Nasrapur travel westwards to reach the following base villages…..there are two base villages for

this fort [Gunjawane and Pali]

From Gunjawane the trek is a little bit tough as it leads to the Chor Darwaja. Inexperienced

trekkers should go via Pali as this trek is not that difficult as compared to the trek via

Gunjawane.

There’s a way which goes to Torna along the ridges of Sahyadri Mountains from Rajgad.
