meters and width of the bench shall not be less than the height. The mining
will start from top towards bottom. Mining will be semi-mechanized.
(iii) Need for the project and its importance to the country and region
The state of Rajasthan is endowed with minor and major mineral resources.
Minor mineral is playing a pivotal role in economy of Rajasthan. Masonry
stone (Cheja Patthar) mining in the allotted area is feasible. Mineral masonry
stone (Cheja patthar) is extensively used in construction and infrastructure
projects. Proposed project of masonry stone (Cheja patthar) has the indigenous
demand. By this proposed project of masonry stone mining in the area local
people will get employment & thus will make their better living standards,
provide basic facilities such as drinking water, road, education and medical
etc. in its close vicinity. The state government will get revenue in the form of
royalty, taxes etc. and thus contribute to regional and national economy.
(iv) Demand and Supply Gap
There is large demand of masonry stone for road, railway track, building
construction etc. In past, demand was not too much but at this time demand of
Masonry stone is increasing. At present, there is constant demand of masonry
stone in the area.
(v) Imports v/s Indigenous Production
As the mineral in abundance is available indigenously so the import of the
same is not required nor economically feasible.
(vi) Export possibility
Export of mineral masonry stone is not feasible. Masonry Stone can be
sufficiently absorbed in the local market, it will not be exported. Masonry
stone production from the area will cater the local needs.
(vii) Domestic/Exports Markets
There is always an increasing demand of masonry stone in domestic markets
due to rapid industrialization, building industry & construction etc.
(viii) Employment generation (Direct & Indirect) due to the project
By this mining project of Masonry Stone in the area, peoples will get
employment. The project directly generates the employment for the local
people and indirectly for the others. Also the marketing of the product
generates the employment for peoples. By this project, approximately 14

B. Regional Geology
The area covers part of Jhunjhunun and Sikar districts of Rajasthan and a small
part in the northeast falls in Mahendragarh district of the Haryana State. The area
is well connected by roads and railway line. The Phulera – Rewari railway line
passes through the area. The area exhibits semi-arid climate with average annual
rainfall of 460mm. the area is drained by Northerly – flowing Chandrawati River
with its tributaries. Besides, a number of ephemeral streams showing dendritic to
sub-dendritic pattern present in the area, which either join the Chandrawati River
or die out in the sandy terrain. The meta-sedimentary rocks exposed in the area
comprise meta-areanites, meta-argillites with intercalated calcareous rocks.
These belong to the Delhi Super Group (Palaeo to meso Proterozoic). The
arenaceous rocks are grouped under the Alwar group and meta-argillites with
calcareous rocks are grouped under the Ajabgarh Group. Granite, amphibolites
and other intrusive rocks are also found in the area. The Alwar group comprises
mainly massive quartzites which are exposed in the hills in Southeastern part of
the area. The quartzite’s are massive, fine to medium grained and grey, buff or
brown colour and belongs to the Pratapgarh formation of the Alwar group. The
quartzites are showing NE-SW strike with 65 to 75 dip easterly. Amphibolite
intrudes most of rocks of the Delhi Super Group in the area and is of wide
distribution, but it is prominently seen in the vicinity of Khetri and north of
Papurna. These are two types: coarse to medium grained and massive ones
generally occurring in pellitic rocks as large bodies, roughly parallel to regional
strike and rocks. The other type is confined to the arenaceous rocks as thin,
cross-cutting dykes trending NNW-SSE or NW-SE. these are fine grained and
more closely fractured. The amphibolites are steeply dipping to near – vertical
and represent metamorphosed basic intrusive. The Bharkol Formation comprises
phyilite inter- bedded with quartzite and occurs east of Babai.

C. Local Geology of the area
Geologically, the rock in the lease area is mainly Quartzite and brecciated
ferruginous Quartzite, belonging to Ajabgarh group of Delhi Super Group. This
area is highly folded and faulted. The quartizites are making undulating
topography in the area and are rises to 10-15m from the ground level.
Structurally, the rocks have NNE-SSW to NE – SW strikes with varying dips
from 45 to 75 towards west. The quaternary sediments in the area comprise both
Aeolian and fluvial deposits.
D. Yearwise annual production of masonry stone for next five years
Table 1.3 The details of production are as follows
Year Masonry Stone (Cheja Pathar) in Tonne
I 1,50,000
II 1,50,000
III 1,50,000
IV 1,50,000
V 1,50,000
Total 6,00,000
E. Mineable Reserves and Anticipated Life of the Mine
All in situ reserves will not be possible to mined out as there will be some
mineral will be left un-mined i.e. in road barrier, ramp etc. it is assumed about
10% so net mineable reserve will be:
Total mineable reserves = 1410227.75 Tonne
The proposed rate of production for the first five years is 1,50,000 tonne per
annum. Expected life of mine on the basis of proved & probable category of
reserves from the present targeted rate of production: 1410227.75 T/1,50,000 =
9.40 year or say 9 years.
Life may vary as per actual production obtained.
F. Conceptual Mining Plan
Conceptual Simplified Mining Scheme is necessary to know the ultimate limit of
the pit crust at surface at the end of lease period. It is also necessary to select the
sites for waste dump, site service, plantation etc. in such a place that these sites
should not get any disturbance during the life of mine. Considering the aforesaid
aspects the conceptual plan as follow:
Prefeasibility Report of Masonry Stone Mining Project N/v–Patiyala Ki Dhani, Tehsil – Khetri, District – Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan) ML.No- 490/2005, Lease area – 1.00Ha.
Project Proponent: Smt. Vadan Bai. Page - 19
Ultimate extent and size of the pit
The ultimate extent and size of the pit will be as follows:
Length of the working 110 meters
Width of the working 65 meters
Depth of the working 55 meters
The final Slope angle adopted
Considering the stability of rocks the final slope angle or says ultimate pit slope
is proposed 45°. This slope angle will remain quite safe for these deposits.
Ultimate capacity of dumps
It is a masonry stone (Cheja Pathar) mine. The maximum quantity of stone, like
lump, grit etc has market. The waste will come around 8% towards maximum in
the form of powder and weathered stone. This waste will be used for
construction and maintenance of kucha approach road time to time. Thus, no
waste will be left at site and thus waste is not proposed to dump in the applied
lease area. However a site of 0.01 hectare will be provided for temporary dump.
Stabilization of dumps
The waste dump will be stabilized by constructing a rubble stone wall of 0.5X0.5
meters in width and height towards lower altitude side of the dumps.
G. Raw material required along with estimated quantity, likely source, marketing area of final products/s, Mode of transport of raw Material and Finished Product.
About 4.0 KLD water will be required for Masonry Stone mining, Water will be
sourced from open wells & tube wells located in nearby villages through tankers.
About 500 liter diesel will be required daily for JCB & Trucks/Dumpers which
will be arranged from nearby petrol pumps. Masonry Stone mined out will be
transported through trucks & trolley.
H. Resource optimization/recycling and reuse envisaged in the project, if any, should be briefly outlined. Water will be accumulated in the excavated mine out pit area during rains and
pits serve as a natural ground water recharge structure. As a result of extraction
of mineral, the rate of charging of ground water is likely to be increased

considerably. Water collected in the sump will be used in various purposes at
mine viz. plantation, dust suppression etc.
I. Availability of water its source, Energy/power requirement and source should be given. Total water requirement in the mine will be about 4.0 KLD for drinking & domestic
use, dust suppression and plantation. Drinking water will be brought by water tanker
from nearby villages. Diesel will be used in compressor, JCB and dumpers and
tractors. About 500 liter per day is assumed to be consumed. Diesel will be
outsourced from nearby diesel pumps. Nearby villages is well electrified.
(ix) Quantity of wastes to be generated (liquid and solid) and scheme for their management/disposal
There is no top soil in the area thus dumping yard is not required for separate stacking
of top soil. Further if any top soil found in the area can be utilized as murrum and can
be used for maintaining road and plantations.
Depending upon the volume of generation of sub grade mineral arrangement for
separate dumping will be done. However in case of cheja pathar all excavated rocks
are consumed in forming grits and dust for construction..
