“What Can We Bring” Of the Father’s Love Begotten Shackley

Of the Father’s love begotten, ere the worlds began to be,

He is Alpha and Omega, he the source, the ending he. Of the things that are, that have been, and that future years shall see,

Evermore and ever more! O that birth forever blessed, When the Virgin, full of grace, by the Holy Ghost conceiving, bore the Savior of our race,

Trinity United Methodist Church Chancel Choir Presents

opening doors.” We believe there is a place for everyone in God’s family. Children are always wel-

and the babe, the world’s Redeemer, first revealed his sacred face. Evermore and evermore!

O ye heights of heaven adore him; angel hosts, his praises sing Powers, dominions, bow before him, and extol our God and King:

Let no tongue on earth be silent, every voice in concert ring evermore and evermore!

This is he who seers and sages sang of old with one accord; Whom the writings of the prophets promised in their faithful word;

Now he shines, the long expected; let creation praise its Lord, praise the Lord, evermore and evermore, evermore and evermore, evermore and evermore! Amen

Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song) Eaton and Grant arr. Courtney

soloist: Jill French I have traveled many moonless nights, cold and weary with a babe inside.

And I wonder what I’ve done. Holy Father, You have come and chosen me now to carry Your Son.

I am waiting in a silent prayer. I am frightened by the load I bear. In a world as cold as stone must I walk this path alone?

Be with me now, be with me now. Breath of Heaven, hold me together, be forever near me,

Breath of Heaven, Breath of Heaven, lighten my darkness, pour over me Your holiness for You are holy

Breath of Heaven. Do You wonder, as You watch my face, if another should have had my place?

But I offer all I am for the mercy of Your plan. Help me be strong, help me be, help me.

Breath of Heaven, hold me together, be forever near me, Breath of Heaven.

Breath of Heaven, lighten my darkness, pour over me Your holiness, Breath of Heaven.

Breath of Heaven, be forever near me, Breath of Heaven, Breath of Heaven, pour over me Your holiness for You are holy

Breath of Heaven, Breath of Heaven, Breath of Heaven.

Jesus, What a Wonderful Child Raney Jesus, Jesus O, what a wonderful Child. Jesus, Jesus, so lowly, meek and mild.

New life, new hope, new joy he brings, won’t you listen to the angels sing, “Glory, glory, glory” to the new born King!

He was herald by the angels; born in a lowly manger. The virgin Mary was his mother and Joseph was his earthly father.

Three wise men came from afar; they were guided by a shining star to see King Jesus where he lay in a manger filled with hay.

Jesus, my Jesus, O lord what a wonderful Child. Jesus, O, my Jesus, the babe so lowly, meek and mild.

New life, new hope new joy he brings, won’t you listen to the angels sing; they’re singing, “Glory, glory, glory” to the newborn King.

Amen. See the little baby. Amen. Lying in a manger. Amen, amen, amen. Amen. What did they call him?

Amen, they named him King Jesus. Amen, amen, amen. Jesus, O Jesus, my Lord! what a wonderful Child.

Jesus, holy Jesus, the babe so lowly, meek and mild. New life, new hope, new joy he brings, won’t you listen to the angels sing

“Glory, glory, glory” to the new born King! Glory to the newborn King! Glory to the newborn King, Glory to the newborn King!

Jesus, what a wonderful Child!

The Hands That First Held Mary’s Child Troeger/Forrest The hands that first held Mary’s child were hard from working wood.

From boards they sawed and planned and filed and splinters they withstood. This day they gripped no tool of streel, they drove no iron nail, But cradled from the head to heel our Lord, newborn and frail.

When Joseph marveled at the size of that small breathing frame, And gazed upon those bright new eyes and spoke the infant’s name,

The angel’s words he once had dreamed poured down from heaven’s height, And like the host of stars that beamed blessed earth with welcome light.

“This child shall be Emmanuel, not God upon the throne, But God with us, Emmanuel, as close as blood and bone.”

The tiny form in Joseph’s palms confirmed what he had heard, And from his heart rose hymns and psalms for heaven’s human word.

The tools that Joseph laid aside a mob would later lift And use with anger, fear, and pride to crucify God’s gift. Let us, O Lord, not only hold the child who’s born today,

But charged with faith may we be bold to follow in His way.

Angel’s Carol Rutter Have you heard the sound of the angel voices Ringing out so sweetly, ringing out so clear?

Have you seen the star shining out so brightly As a sign from God that Christ the Lord is here?

Have you heard the news that they bring from heaven To the humble shepherds who have waited long?

Gloria in excelsis Deo, Gloria in excelsis Deo! Hear the angels sing their joyful song.

He is come in peace in the winter’s stillness, Like a gentle snow fall in the gentle night; He is come in joy like the sun at morning

Filling all the world with radiance and with light He is come in love as the child of Mary;

In a simple stable we have seen his birth: Gloria in excelsis Deo, Gloria in excelsis Deo!

Hear the angels singing ‘Peace on earth.’ He will bring new light to a world in darkness Like a bright star shining, in the skies above;

He will bring new hope to the waiting nations When he comes to reign in purity and love,

Let the earth rejoice at the Saviour’s coming; Let the heavens answer with the joyful morn: Gloria in excelsis Deo, Gloria in excelsis Deo!

Hear the angels singing ‘Christ is born,’ Hear the angels singing ‘Christ is born!’

Shepherd, Play Your Pipes Tonight Rasmussen/Shepperd Shepherd, softly play your pipes. Let their song drift on the night.

May their simple, sweet refrain ease a mother’s birthing pain. Dance your song to stable far on glowing light of prophet’s star.

Greet the child of humble birth in lilting notes proclaim His worth. As joyous song on starlight soars, angels from the heavens pour.

Join the choir’s jubilation! Play your pipes in celebration! Shepherd, play your pipes tonight. Let their song be filled with light. Your pipes foretell His destiny, Who shall the greatest Shepherd be. Shepherd, softly play your pipes. Let their song drift on the night.

How Many Kings Martel and Germain Arr. Sorenson Follow the star to a place unexpected.

Would you believe after all we’ve projected, a child in a manger? Lowly and small, the weakest of all, unlikeliest hero,

Wrapped in His mother’s shawl, just a child. Is this who we’ve waited, waited for? ‘Cause how many kings stepped down from their thrones?

How many lords have abandoned their homes? How many greats have become the least for me? and how many gods have poured out their hearts

To romance a world that is torn all apart? How many fathers gave up their sons for me, for me?

Bringing our gifts for the newborn Savior, all that we have, whether costly or meek, because we believe.

Gold for His honor and frankincense for His pleasure, myrrh for the cross He’ll suffer. Do you believe? Is this who we’ve waited, waited for?

How many kings stepped down from their thrones? How many lords have abandoned their homes?

How many greats have become the least for me? And how many gods have poured out their hearts

to romance a world that is torn all apart? How many fathers gave up their sons for me, for me?

Only one did that all for me. All for me, all for you. How many kings stepped down from their thrones?

How many lords have abandoned their homes? How many greats have become the least for me? And how many gods have poured out their hearts

to romance a world that is torn all apart? How many fathers gave up their sons for me, for me?

Stay With Us Hovland Stay with us, Lord Jesus, stay with us. Stay with us, it soon is evening.

Stay with us, Lord Jesus, stay with us, it soon is evening, and night is falling. Jesus Christ, the world’s true light! Shine so the darkness cannot overcome it!

Stay with us, Lord Jesus, it soon is evening. Stay with us, Lord Jesus, for night is falling.

Let your light pierce the darkness and fill your church with its glory. Stay with us, Lord Jesus, stay with us. Stay with us, it soon is evening.

ARISE AND SHINE! YOUR LIGHT HAS COME! Arr. Martin Arise and shine! Your Light has come, for God has sent the Promised One.

Arise and shine! Your Light has come. Declare the works that the Lord has done. Sing, shout, be jubilant all the earth. Sing of our merciful King’s birth.

From out of darkness we have light, for God has danced into our night. Rejoice, rejoice, the heavens reply, for our redemption draweth nigh.

Angels and people with joy many sing; all for to praise the King of kings. Arise and shine! Your Light has come, for God has sent the Promised One.

Arise and shine! Your Light has come, arise! Your Light has come! Walk in the light of the Lord. Walk in the light of the Lord.

Walk in the light and rejoice for a Savior is born. Arise and shine! Your light has come, for God has sent the Promised One.
