PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Week 9: Refugee Week 2014: Restoring Hope Refugee Week is Australia's peak annual activity to raise awareness about the issues affecting refugees and celebrate the positive contributions made by refugees to Australian society. Ranfurly Primary School acknowledges the contributions made by refugees to our community and our school. Student Led Conferences: Our Student Led Conferences are next week. Please make sure you book your time, as the students really enjoy the opportunity to share their learning with their families. Sport: A report from our intrepid and well behaved senior soccer teams: Yesterday the girl’s and boy’s senior soccer teams went to Life Style Plus to play an interschool indoor scoccer competition. The girls won 1 game, beating Sacred Heart PS 11 – 3. The boys scored lots of goals but didn’t win any games. The Lake PS won both competitions. Ranfurly girl’s team came second. We all had a great time and everyone had fun. Thank you to Ms Wilson for being our bus driver, and Mrs Talbot for supervising us.

Prep Tours 2015: We will be conducting Prep Tours for next year’s Preps on Tuesday June 24th. There will be a morning tour (9.45 am) and an afternoon tour (2.15 pm). Please let any friends or family members who may be enrolling a student in Prep next year know. No bookings are needed – meet at the front office. NAIDOC Day: will be celebrated on the last Thursday of term – next week. There will be a special assembly at 9am, followed by some wonderful activities arranged by Ms Bell and Ben Parker, our KESO. After recess (11.30am) we have Phil Murray, a Mildura lad, and uncle of one of our students, doing a rap performance for the whole school. School Uniforms: We have noticed quite a few students who are not wearing school uniform. Please remind them that school uniform is compulsory at Ranfurly. The uniform shop is open at 8.30am Tuesday and 3.15pm Thursday if you need items. There are new and some second hand items available. School will finish early, at 2.30 pm, on the last day of term, Friday June 27th. Barb Wilson Acting Principal

PARENT’S CLUB NEWS
Once again our Pie Drive has been a tremendous success. Thank you to all that have collected and placed orders. Our Pie Drive orders have been filled by Minters and will be delivered to the school tomorrow, Thursday 19th. All orders must be picked up from the Walton Wing between 2.15pm and 3.30pm. We will not be able to store any orders that are not picked up. We will need some helpers to pack the orders to ensure that they are all ready for collection. If you have some spare time between 11.30m and 3.30pm to lend a hand it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the office or myself on 0409 147 538 with the time that you are available.
