RateLogic is the creation and control for Schedule of Rates costing. Allowing quick and easy

Getting Started:

To start using RateLogic, you must first create your “SOR Library”. You will find this option at the

top of your screen, under the RateLogic menu.

This will open up your SOR Library screen where you can start to build up your libraries.

You can create a standard single library of rates, or create specific libraries for specific customers.

In this screen you can search by Trade, Code or Description of your SOR.

Creating a new library of rates

Your library screen is split into 2 sections. At the top of the screen you have your Library section

and below that the items that belong to the library.

1. Add – Click add and you will be prompted to create the library name and description.

2. Active – Tick the box to make the library active (this can be deactivated if the library is no

longer needed).

Once you are happy with the name and description text click on the OK button to continue.

Once you have created the library name, you can now add items of rates to it.

1. Add – Click add, on the bottom section of the screen, to begin entering the details.

2. SOR Library – Here you can select which library your new item will belong to.

3. Trade – You can select the trade the item belongs to – we will look at this later on.

4. Code – Here you can enter a specific code for the item.

5. Description – This will be displayed in your costing areas & invoices.

6. Cost – This is simply what the item costs you.

7. Sell – The price that you charge your client for carrying that job. Again, this will appear on

your invoices.

8. Active - Tick the box to make the item active (this can be deactivated if the item is no

longer needed).

Once you are happy with the details you have entered, click on OK to complete the entry into the

library.

You can enter as many items and create as many libraries as you wish.

Adding an SOR to a job

To add a schedule of rates, to a job, you start by opening the job you wish to add it to.

1. SOR – Click on the SOR button on the right hand side of your job details screen.

(You can also use this feature in the job costing screen)

After selecting SOR, from the previous screen, you will be given the Job Schedule of Rates screen.

This is where you can enter the items into the job that are required.

1. SOR Code and Description – This button will take you into the Library Screen that we

looked at on page one. Once selected it will fill out the items below (SOR Code, SOR

Description, Cost and sell) from the details you entered into the library. The cost and sell

can be edited at this point.

2. Location – Here you can enter the location the item is for (i.e. Kitchen, Bathroom, Car

Park etc).

3. Qty – Enter the number of items you wish to add to the job.

4. Mark Up % - Here you can add or minus a percentage to the item.

5. SOR Status – These statuses are similar to your job statuses in that, they control the

“progress” of the SOR. Allowing you to monitor it from your customers point of view,

before “completing” and “approving” it to allow it’s possible costing.

Once you have chosen the item you then click “save*” to enter it to the “holding screen”.

If you want the item to go onto your Job Costing screen, click the “Cost Items”, in the bottom left

hand corner of your screen, which will then display the message “Costed 1 Item”.(Your item must

however have the statuses “Complete” and “Approved” ticked.

*please note – you only need to save the item once – any changes after that will be saved instantly.

Once you have finished adding and/or costing your items, you can go into the job costs option of

your job, to see them all added and in place.

In the job costs screen you can view your SOR’s and amend the values & quantities if required.

Customer SOR uplift set up

In the customer maintenance screen, you can apply a fixed mark up or discount percentage against

your SOR’s. This will then apply the given percentage to any SOR you add to the customers job.
