KAWANA LIFESTYLE SPRING 2014 A COMMUNITY UPDATE BY RAY WHITE LIFESTYLE Welcome to the first edition of Kawana Lifestyle. With the recent move to our new office at Capital Place we thought it was important to introduce ourselves to our Kawana neighbours even though we have been operating our business from our former office on the Nicklin Way since 2009. If you think the new multi-billion dollar Kawana medical and research hub will have minimal impact on the local economy then think again. Right now there are no fewer than nine cranes operating at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital site with hundreds of employees on site each day. More than 11,000 construction workers will be inducted on to the site in the three-year construction period, 1800 workers will be on-site at any one time during the peak of construction period (2014-15) and a minimum of 830 workers will be employed per year on the project for a total of around 2490. The overall economic benefit during the construction phase is estimated at $2.3 billion - primarily in finance, property, business services, government administration, residential construction and other construction. The public hospital will employ about 3500 people and coupled with the employment generated by the private hospital and forecast employment demand from the wider Oceanside Kawana Health Precinct, it is estimated the precinct will provide up to 10,000 jobs. We are now located in the central ‘heartbeat’ of the Kawana precinct which will enable us to better service our existing and future clients from Minyama through to Currimundi and surrounds. We will be able to pass on our local knowledge, experience and relevant market information to both our buyers and sellers within our community so they can enjoy the benefit of what this great area has to offer now and in the future. I have been involved with the Kawana Waters development since 1999 when I worked with Lensworth and then Stockland and I have seen firsthand the exciting changes that have taken place over the years including the development of prestige neighbourhoods such as Kawana Island and Birtinya as well as the Lake Kawana precinct and other community amenity. We have now entered the exciting next stage with the opening of the 200 bed Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital late last year and the multi-billion dollar Sunshine Coast University Hospital and health hub which is well on track for a late 2016 completion. When you combine that with the new Kawana Town Centre and the development of the Birtinya Oceanside precinct then it’s clear that there will be strong demand for housing in our immediate area. There are exciting times ahead and we look forward to sharing more information with you in our next quarterly edition of Kawana Lifestyle. KAWANA LIFESTYLE SPRING 2014

A COMMUNITY UPDATE BY RAY WHITE LIFESTYLE

Welcome to the first edition of Kawana Lifestyle.

We have now entered the exciting next stage with the opening of the 200 bed Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital late last year and the multi-billion dollar Sunshine

Coast University Hospital and health hub which is well on track for a late 2016 completion.

If you are in the neighbourhood and want to pop in to say hello feel free to come in at Unit 4, 9 Capital Place Birtinya (opposite Subway).

LOCAL SPORTING ORGANISATIONS RESERVE STRONG PRAISE FOR PROPOSED COMMUNITY CLUB

A number of local sporting organisations have praised plans for the proposed Sunshine Coast Community Sports Club believing the facility will significantly boost a broad range of sports across the region.

The 11,000 m2 site at the northern head of Lake Kawana has been proposed by a development consortium of local sporting bodies including Brothers Rugby and the Sunshine Coast Falcons. The proposal for the site will include a range of accommodation, entertainment, administration and rehabilitation services.

Stephen Porter from Sunshine Coast Water Polo said the Community Sports Club was definitely long overdue for the Sunshine Coast.

“We’ve had very positive dialogue with the project’s proponents and it’s a really exciting concept.

Sunshine Coast Water Polo will be able to attract bigger and better water polo championships to the coast through the club, and it will also provide a place for social interaction, fundraising and meetings for the local water polo community,” he said.

Brendan Powell from Oztag Queensland also agrees that it has been a facility the coast has needed for a long time.

“The venue ticks all the boxes for us, we will definitely be using the club for our junior and senior state cups, and we are potentially even looking at taking up office space for administration as well as social functions, fundraisers and award presentations. Most importantly we’ll have accommodation for travelling teams participating in events on the Sunshine Coast which is always a massive issue when we host tournaments,” Mr Powell said.

While there has already been an overwhelming amount of support for the project, there are still opportunity for local sporting bodies to become involved. Interested parties can contact Peter on 0417 695 833 or email: [email protected]

TESTIMONIAL

Kate Harvey 3 Talinga Street Buddina

We had a fantastic selling experience with Ben Wilson, he was very helpful and professional throughout the process. We wanted to view the

house several times just to make sure it was perfect and he was extremely accommodating by organising

times that suited our busy schedules.

The house was exactly what we were looking for and it’s in a fantastic location close to shops and

the beach. We were already living in the area and we really didn’t want to move away so

it’s the perfect home to raise our two year old child.
