Our cenacles are growing in number. We are seeing the awesomepower of God transform hearts. We especially love the faith-sharing. We are blessed to see many examples of our Lord’s Divine Mercy.

We had a woman, who had been away from the Church, visit ourgroup. She was suffering from kidney failure and was told she needed atransplant. We prayed for her at the meeting. At her next doctor’s visit, she was told that her kidney function had improved, and she no longerneeded a transplant! We were told of another man who had suffered acardiac arrest, lapsed into a coma, and was near death. His family wastold there was no hope. We prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet inces-santly for him. Three days later, he woke up. He told us that while hewas in a coma, St. Faustina came to him and gave him a drink! Divine Mercy is truly a message to be lived. Divine Mercy is in our

hearts and part of our daily lives.

BRENTWOOD, CALIFORNIAElizabeth Gomez wrote and told us:

We started a Divine Mercy cenacle at St. Vincent De Paul Churchin Mount Vernon, Ohio, in the fall of 2014. We have 17 activemembers of Eucharistic Apostles of The Divine Mercy, and we enjoysharing our faith and the discussions that ensue. On April 30, we had an induction ceremony that included Mass.

Father Vince Nguyen, parochial vicar, was the principal celebrantand Fr. Homer Blubaugh, our spiritual mentor, was the concelebrant. Our special guest was Fr. Mark Hammond, vicar of consortium ofthe parishes of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Luke, and the Nativity.

This photo was taken during the Divine Mercy Sunday celebrationat Our Lady of Consolata Catholic Church, Nairobi, Kenya. Therewas a special liturgy at 2 p.m., presided over by the Most Rev. DavidKamau, the auxiliary bishop of Nairobi, The church was filled to capacity. The same was replicated at St.

Therese’s Cathedral, and St. Joseph’s Church both in Kisumu, Kenya, where I gave presentations on the Divine Mercy message and devo-tion. I thank Jesus, Mary, and St. Faustina for their intercessions. The message of Divine Mercy is rapidly spreading across Kenya.

This year, I hope to take the Divine Mercy message and devotionmore into the rural areas of our country as I continue the work ofevangelization and promotion of Eucharistic Apostles of The DivineMercy in Nairobi and Kisumu.

Members of the EADM cenacle in Brentwood, California, gatherafter a recent meeting.

Members of the EADM cenacle at St. Vincent De Paul Church gatherfor an induction ceremony on April 30. Father Vince Nguyen, parochial vicar (right), was the principal celebrant. Our group began about two years ago at St. Patrick Church in

Sonora with six people who had helped me put together our parish’sDivine Mercy Sunday celebration. After this year’s celebration, we now have 18 members. We’ve split

into two groups so that the new people can begin with Manual 1 ofthe Cenacle Formation Manuals. We decided to begin a ministry of praying the Chaplet of Divine

Mercy for the dying and the seriously ill and to visit them when appropriate. We are in the planning stages and have ordered the newbooklet, At the Bedside of the Sick and Dying, to help us.

SONORA, CALIFORNIAMarcia Watts wrote and told us:

The number of members in the EADM cenacle at St. Patrick Churchin Sonora, California, has tripled in two years. They also saw theDivine Mercy Sunday celebration at their parish triple in size.

PUERTO RICOMarie Virelli shared this with us:

The cenacle group at Our Lady of the Rosary in Puerto Rico sent us acollage of Divine Mercy images and members doing works of mercy.

As the Eucharistic Apostles of The Divine Mercy cenacle groupat Our Lady of the Rosary parish, we are committed to spreadingthe message and devotion of Divine Mercy by living mercifully. Wetry to proclaim and promote the Real Presence of Jesus in theEucharist and to be merciful to others as He is to us. Father Jorge Betancourt Carmell is our spiritual director. He

guides us with merciful love and assists us in spreading the messageof Divine Mercy to others. Our members share their experiences of mercy with others to help

us all grow and enhance our faith. We are reading and studying theDiary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska and use the Cenacle Manualsto guide us. We try to perform spiritual and corporal works of mercyby visiting the sick and praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet at hospi-tals, residences, and convalescent homes. When we are able to, wemake anonymous contributions to needy families. On Divine Mercy Sunday, we celebrated the Mass with our

Archbishop and a delegate of Pope Francis who came to visit us.Our group motto is, “Our goal is to get in love with souls to

bring them to Christ.”Our favorite Diary quote is: “My daughter, do you think you have

written enough about My mercy? What you have written is but a dropcompared to the ocean. I am Love and Mercy Itself. There is no mis-ery that could be a match for My mercy, neither will misery exhaust it,because as it is being granted — it increases. The soul that trusts inMy mercy is most fortunate, because I Myself take care of it” (1273).

HARARE, ZIMBABWEMaria Munyavi shared this with us:

My name is Maria Roda Munyavi, and I am an EADMmember and coordinator of the Divine Mercy devotion inZimbabwe. I am from St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Harare, and I work together with three other committee members:Alexander Chivere, Leocadia Mandiki, and Nyasha Dandira. We propagate the devotion through all-night prayers, and

we work with six other parishes in our Archdiocese ofHarare: Holy Cross, Uganda Martyrs, St. Barnabas, St.Patrick, Glen Norah, and Braeside. We hold all-nightprayers in homes and in churches at least once a month. At St. Francis, we are trying to set up cenacles of Divine

Mercy for families that live near each other. Our major problem is getting the material needed to set

up the cenacles and continue with the work of propagatingthe message in a strong way. We also still have a lot to learnand experience about the strong and powerful message ofDivine Mercy. Our wish and hope is that one day Dr. Thatcher will be

able to travel to our country to strengthen the foundationand build stronger pillars of this message in our church andcountry for the salvation of souls. We also thank our parish priests Fr. Xavier Mukupo and

Fr. Magwidi for their support.

T hrough the generosity of ananonymous donor, EADM iscollaborating with singer song-

writer, and pro-life speaker Trish Short, and teacher and musician John Smith todistribute the Divine Mercy ChapletDVD Generations Unite in Prayer and a“Golden Ticket” to schoolchildren in sev-eral parishes across the country. TheGolden Ticket includes Catholic catech-esis to youth in CCD classes. We produced 5,000 DVDs and

Golden Tickets. We have distributedthem in parishes in California,Massachusetts, Texas, and Florida. The DVD has the contemporary chap-

let in song but sung by youth of differentages, and includes footage of a wife andgranddaughter praying the chaplet at thebedside of a dying man. The DVD offersa strong pro-life message. John spoke to children at St. Bridgette

School in Abington, Massachusetts. Hedid two programs for grades 5-8 and a

total of 110 children. In the first program, he talked to the

children about the message of DivineMercy. Then he returned two days laterfor a second presentation using theDivine Mercy Chaplet and Golden Ticket. The DVDs and Golden Tickets are

then distributed free of charge. All we ask is that the children write a critique on what they learned and thought of the program. One student told us, “I really enjoyed

your presentation as it opened my eyesto the wonders of Divine Mercy. Yourjoyous and compassionate presentationhas enabled me to plan for something inour church for Divine Mercy Sunday.” During the summer, John will be

speaking to approximately 60 school-children at St. Theckla Parish inPembroke, Massachusetts. We are also seeking donors to help

produce more DVDs and GoldenTickets. Please call the EADM office at1-877-380-0727 for more informationor to donate to this program.

Jubilee Continued from Page 1open, so that those who are touched by grace can find the cer-tainty of forgiveness. The greater the sin, so much the greatermust be the love that the Church expresses toward those whoconvert.“Dear brothers and sisters, I have often thought about how

the Church might make clear its mission of being a witness tomercy. It is journey that begins with a spiritual conversion. Forthis reason, I have decided to call an extraordinary Jubilee that isto have the mercy of God at its center. It shall be a Holy Year ofMercy. We want to live this Year in the light of the Lord’s words:‘Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.’ (cf. Lk 6:36)“This Holy Year will begin on this coming solemnity of the

Immaculate Conception, [Dec. 8,] and will end on Nov. 20,2016, the Sunday dedicated to Our Lord Jesus Christ, King ofthe Universe — and living face of the Father’s mercy. I entrustthe organization of this Jubilee to the Pontifical Council forPromotion of the New Evangelization, that [the dicastery]might animate it as a new stage in the journey of the Churchon its mission to bring to every person the Gospel of mercy.“I am convinced that the whole Church will find in this

Jubilee the joy needed to rediscover and make fruitful themercy of God, with which all of us are called to give consola-tion to every man and woman of our time. From this moment,we entrust this Holy Year to the Mother of Mercy, that shemight turn her gaze upon us and watch over our journey.”

Here, the Holy Father hears someone’s confession. In his papal bull (the document which officially declared the upcoming Jubliee), Pope Franciswrites, “Let us never forget that to be confessors means to participate inthe very mission of Jesus, to be a concrete sign of the constancy of divinelove that pardons and saves.”
