Re: Amabutho Jumpers March News Letter
Time goes so fast this year we are already on finished with the first term approaching the second one
wow where did the time go!!!!!!! Well here at our office evident of the time gone is clearly visible on
the yearly planner as we have been busy since beginning year
We started the month of march very well with five of our junior members attending the SAGF
Gymnastics Leaders Course (GL) which is the entry level and requirement for any 1 to be able to
proceed to level 1 Coaching Course . AJ Lindani Mkhonza, AJ Abongile Luthuli, AJ Nomthandazo
Mhlophe & AJ Phumlani Masolo were the participants at the Course with AJ Sandile Ntombela being
part of the facilitators at the course. Job well done to the guys on the course you did Amabutho
Jumpers proud. The course was conducted by the Kwa Zulu-Natal Gymnastics Union (KZNGU) our
provincial mother body on 3 & 4 March 2012.
The following week saw AJ Sandile Ntombela jetting off to La Reunion Island to conduct a follow up
workshop on Single Rope from the 8 – 11 March 2021 AJ Sandile was jumping in Reunion and Learning
French in the main time. Thierry Imbert and his welcomed him early hours of the morning at the
airport with warm arms and he was treated very well while there as he enjoyed the group he was

Less did we know as AJ Sandile Ntombela was back from La reunion he had a Just two days rest and had to go
with AJ Sihle Hlophe to Dokkies KZNGU Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy where they work with 25 ladies from the
La Reunion Gymnastics who were in Durban as part of the National federation, KZNGU and the City of Durban
initiative to build and strengthen the relationship between La Reunion and South Africa as Durban is a sister city
of one of the cities in La Reunion. AJ Sandile & AJ Sihle took the ladies for 2 hours giving them fitness exercises
using rope skipping which got them Sweating and tired. A good experience it was for Amabutho Jumpers and we
are glad we were involved.
On the weekend of 17 March 2012 AJ went and performed at the first ever Kwa Zulu Natal Gymnastics Union
Gym 4 Life challenge which was a qualifier for the big National one in July 2012. FIG will be hosting the
International Gym 4 Life challenge here in South Africa Cape Town next year , hopeful AJ will be there doing
what we do best to jump.
On 23 March 2012 Amabutho Jumpers went to Inanda Special Primary as part of their outreach program to go
and work with school kids. This was an eye opener for the AJ’s as this was the first time that they worked with
kids who have special needs / different kinds of disabilities. AJs learned the art of patience and took their time
working with the kids and encouraging them to keep trying till they get the skill. We have forged partnership
with the school and we will be helping at the school teaching the kids.
The smile that the rope brought to these new jumpers from Inanda Special School is the one that encouraged AJ
more to even come back as they are so happy after mastering the skill.

After AJs were done at the Inanda Special School they went straight to the heart of Durban City Hall and did
some Demonstrations there to create awareness of the sport and Just to have that attention from the public as
they look at the AJ with Strange eyes and smile on the faces seeing magic with the rope .
People in the public also wanted to join and have fun with us, while others just observed and passed by.
On the 24 – 25 again it was that time for Amabutho Jumpers five members to go learn and horn their skills in the
art of judging. Five of them AJ went and attended an SAGF Rope Skipping level 1 Judges Course also hosted by
the KZNGU. Aj Sandile Ntombela was one of the three facilitators who gave the Course while AJ members in
attendance were AJ Lindani, AJ Abongile, Aj Phumlani, and AJ Nomthandazo & AJ Sihle. The five guys did very
well and we congratulate them.
Up Coming Activities for AJ:
• AJs will be working with the Stanger Hospital on an awareness of health lifestyle and importance of
exercising this going to be a six weeks Program called Scale Down challenge.
That all we have been up to last month and about to undertake this starting month we wish you well this month
enjoy life and jump rope.
Regards
Sandile Ntombela
