REACTION:I understand more about the importance of administering medication with this journal. Its an eye opener not just for me but for my future colleague as well. As quoted in the above conclusion Good communication, clarity and vigilance are vital whenever drugs are being administered. Medicine administration is a skilled but potentially dangerous procedure and it is essential to be alert to possible pitfalls and to follow guidelines in order to minimize the risks. When undertaking the administration of medicines nurses must be willing to take responsibility for their actions and rectify any shortfalls in their knowledge. However, for this to happen there needs to be a culture in which nurses can report errors or near misses without fear of reprisal. Incidents should be turned into situations from which lessons are learnt and progress is made.Being a student nurse and soon to be a license nurse I will be very vigilant and super extra careful in administering medication because medication error cant just harm the life of my future patient but my career and license are also at stake.
